Update - After a little prompting on this site, Guest Care have been in touch and resolved my issues, which is why I have amended my rating. The team I dealt with Sam and Ellie were very helpful and updated my booking quickly and efficiently. Update - contacted guest care as instructed. Spoke to a lovely lady and gave my concerns. As of now still no response!!! I haven't been on holiday yet but I can say I find the Customer Service supplied by Solmar Villas 0%. They do not reply to emails even though they are good enough to ensure payment emails are sent! I book villas every year and this by far has to be the worst company I have ever dealt with regarding dealing with queries. They just ignore you! Why should the customer have to chase up constantly. I will probably get a response saying please contact our Customer Services (Well no as they do not reply!) Just because we are not travelling in the next few days it doesn't mean our queries are not important or invalid.
We rented a villa in Kefalonia last year through Solmar Villas and it was absolutely fantastic — no complaints at all. That’s why we decided to book with them again this year. Unfortunately, it was a big disappointment.We booked Stone cottage in Nisaki, Corfu. What we weren’t told is that an elderly man — probably the owner — lives in the same building, right above the villa. This meant zero privacy. His windows faced the pool, and for us, that was a serious issue — we value our privacy, especially when on a beach holiday.On top of that, he would come out every morning at 6 AM to sweep the leaves, which meant we were woken up early every single day. It honestly felt like going to work, not being on vacation.Inside the villa, the smell was unpleasant — like sewage — and that same smell was also near the pool. The kitchen had a strong musty odor, the cupboards smelled like mold, and there were lots of ants. Even if you left an empty wrapper on the counter, it would be full of ants shortly after. Very frustrating.I chose Solmar again because I believed they offered a certain standard of comfort and reliability. Sadly, this experience didn’t live up to that at all.
We stayed in Casa Albuqassim in Pollensa. We booked through jet2 but the villa is provided by Solmar Villas. This was July 2025. We have been to the area frequently before but first time to this property. The house itself is ok - a bit tired and basic but the location is excellent. Solmar and jet2 were awful though. We were there for 1 week with our kids. On arrival the pool was filthy - so filthy it immediately stained our kids swimming suits. Was reported straight away to jet2 and Solmar. Info in the villa was that the pool is cleaned twice a week - that didn’t happen. Despite daily calls nobody bothered coming to clean or check it. On our 2nd last day someone came in the evening - the electrics had tripped the pump. He turned it on and left - didn’t clean the pool. So we had use of a pool for the last day only - when it rained (nobody’s fault obviously!). Awful experience and we’re still fighting for a sensible compensation offer. Will not book jet2 or Solmar villa again - absolutely shocking customer service and ruined the kids holiday. Totally overpriced and awful customer care
Edit: credit where its due. Within 2 hours cleaners on site, beds made up, fresh towels delivered, ripped cushions replaced. Im pretty impressed.Story is after turning up at our villa after a delay in Gatwick, we found that the villa had not been cleaned, no bedding or towels, ripped outside cushions on the table and chairs. Called Solmar, they were quick to respond and everything sorted. To our amazement, woke up this morning to find new outside cushions. Wow. Thanks Solmar, that's service.
Excellent communication from booking all the way through. Phone always answered promptly and staff so helpful. Transfer company they use was excellent, accommodating last minute changes, polite and very prompt. The villa was incredible, spotlessly clean, brilliant location, even better than it appeared on the website. The beds were so comfortable it was the first time ever on holiday I didn't miss my own. Unexpected mid week clean and towel change a bonus. Unobtrusive but reassuring text messages with contact details and reminders they were there if we needed them during the stay. Faultless.
The companies pre holiday support wasn’t bad but we did receive a phone as outlined. This meant we had an early flight 9am arrival but couldn’t get into the villa until 4pm. When we contacted them they suggested we hang out at a local bar with our son.They did help move the check in to 12pm but we still had to kill two hours. I think the phone call would have prevented all of this.The advert wasn’t accurate because the villa was immaculate and like a high star hotel and had quite a few elements that weren’t great.The villa owner did pop around to look but didn’t change much and the furniture was tattyThe mattresses were rock hard and it was like sleeping on a wooden box with a yoga mat on top.Also, the pool guy would just let himself in and my wife was sunbathing topless.He would then leave a hose in the pool and ask us to turn it off after 30 minutes.We paid several thousand pounds to stay at this villa and it wasn’t worth it
Hi We used this company for a recent stay in Portugal . A link was sent to us prior to our stay which would not open via email . This was for the workings of security safe , gate ect . We called the office and they said they would re send this but it never arrived … Hob of cooker was broken I emailed them but it was never answered and we never received a call on this . when the cleaners came to change towels in the middle of our holiday they did fix this issue . Microwave was broken and again cleaners helped with that getting a new one . The air con was broken in the living room in 40 degree temps again had to wait for this to be fixed . Very difficult with two young kids .One of our party left a hair dryer on departure . Called office and they said it was no problem .I agreed to pay postage and packing they said they would get back to me . I called them again 4 days later . They said yes a maid has it . And then sent an email saying that 50 pounds had to be paid before they could tell me how much postage and package would be . Couldn’t believe it . I am happy to pay postage but a 50 ponds fee when I have been the one chasing this . Very disappointed customer . Difficult to contact them at all times . If you want a straightforward holiday avoid this company .
