30/08/25: I ordered a used combi microwave from The Appliance Depot with 3 months warranty.08/09/25: the microwave was delivered. I was advised to check it ASAP to report any damage or faults.22/09/25: a qualified electrician fitted, but after a few days it became apparent that unit had a faulty panel, and possibly a fault with the microwave.01/10/25: I reported the faulty appliance to Appliance Depot (AD) on 01/10/25 via email, and asked to return the unit. I did not feel comfortable keeping an appliance that costs over £1500 knowing that it had faults, and only 3 months warranty.03/10/25: I chased AD again, as I had not received any sort of acknowledgement of my return request.04:10/25: AD offered to repair the fault.04/10/25: I declined the offer of a repair, as I had lost faith in this particular appliance, and didn’t want to risk a further fault developing after the remaining 2 months warranty had expired. I asked AD to process a return and refund.07/10/25: I chased AD again, not having heard anything from them, and suggested that surely they had a documented returns process that should be straight forward to implement.10/10/25: I chased AD again, not having heard anything from them, and expressed my disappointment in AD’s post sales customer service.13/10/25: I chased AD again, not having heard anything from them. I advised that I would contact my credit card company and seek some legal consumer advice. I also told them I would be documenting my experience in this review today.Let’s see what happens next. I think The Appliance Depot is a trustworthy company, until there is something wrong with an appliance they have sold. They prefer to only show /advertise /ask for reviews on reviews.co.uk, as AD has a more favourable overall reviews rating there. However, even on reviews.co.uk their “Refunds Process – Difficult” and “Returns Process – Could be Better”. Personally, I wouldn’t risk buying a “graded” nor “used” product from AD again – too much money to risk, and not worth the stress.
What a fantastic Company.I ordered a SMEG 5 burner Gas Hob very recently and was aware that it already had a few minor scratches of no real significance and saved nearly three hundred pounds in doing so.The service from The Appliance Depot was fantastic and the delivery process faultless.I'm delighted with my purchase and they are very honest and open with their customers.I highly recommend them to you.Paul
My experience has not been the bestI bought an oven that arrived without a box and scratched with doors unaligned. When I sent in my complaint I was told that the item had been advertised with the doors not being aligned, however this is not the case and I should try cleaning the scratch and if I returned it and they were able to clean it I’d get charged £50I will not be buying from this company again and I would not recommend anyone should buy eitherI’m sorry to have to leave this feedback but had they been a little polite and tried to sort the issues out I’d never have left this
Ordered a Bosch washing machine via the company and it did not have the door fitting kit included (supplied as an integrated unit). Bosch were completely unhelpful and very abrupt. Laura took over and sorted the issue, leading to the missing parts being issues FOC. She was supportive and demonstrated a compassionate stance throughout. Truly Excellent customer service.
Driver who collected the returned part after 2 weeks claimed it was a regular tactic. Oven advertised as new. Arrived damaged, not in original packaging hoping customer would accept. Owner claims being in business for 18 years is an excuse that they know best. Do not be scammed!
Purchased in November 2024, communication re delivery was great as was the driver who dropped off.July 2025 and the cooker was making an annoying rattling sound when cooling for up to 20 minutes. Logged an email with Charlie and he had a smeg engineer at my house and the problem fixed in under 24 hours.Excellent customer service.
Don't bother!Ordered an extractor fan recirculating kit from here. Admittedly we messed up and ordered the wrong one because the product codes are incredibly similar. I asked them if we could return it as it isn't compatible with our extractor and they said "no problem, but you have to pay for it to be insured on return via courier AND there's a £50 restocking fee". I have no problem paying a courier for it to be returned, but the restocking fee is incredibly unfair (especially on a product which doesn't cost much more than £50) Will not use this company again, use a fair company where you can return things within 28 days without issue.
Product came with chip on control panel and dents even though it was listed at £20 cheaper then Hughes (with the discount). They claimed the photos listed it was damaged and I am awaiting evidence but it is totally unacceptable as there was no disclaimer anywhere. Will be taking to the Ombudsman as there is a restocking fee of £50 AND they expect you to return the product to them. Will not be using again, and I advise others to avoid!
