My recent experience with AON Travel Insurance left much to be desired, to say the least. Unfortunately, my encounter with this company mirrored the experiences of many others, as evidenced by the plethora of negative reviews online. In short, AON failed to uphold their end of the bargain, leaving me stranded without compensation when I needed it most. The first red flag arose when my cruise line canceled my trip due to unforeseen circumstances. Despite having purchased trip cancellation coverage through AON, they refused to honor the claim, leaving me to foot the bill for the canceled trip entirely on my own. This failure to fulfill their promise of coverage was not only disappointing but also financially burdensome.Furthermore, when my luggage was delayed during this trip, I turned to AON for assistance, hoping to alleviate some of the inconvenience and expense. Once again, I was met with disappointment as AON refused to provide any reimbursement for the delayed luggage, despite this being a covered event according to their policy. This consistent pattern of denial of legitimate claims speaks volumes about the company's lack of commitment to their customers' well-being.Upon lodging a complaint with the Better Business Bureau (BBB), I was met with further frustration. While I expected some form of resolution or compensation, I instead received dismissive responses from AON adjusters, insisting that I was not entitled to any compensation according to their arbitrary rules. Even when I requested a refund of my premium due to their failure to fulfill their contractual obligations, I was met with resistance, with AON citing my claim filings as a reason for denial. In summary, my experience with AON Travel Insurance was nothing short of a nightmare. Their failure to pay for legitimate losses, coupled with their dismissive attitude towards customer complaints, is a clear indication of their lack of integrity and commitment to customer satisfaction. I echo the sentiments of other dissatisfied customers and strongly advise against entrusting AON with your travel insurance needs. When purchasing travel insurance, it's imperative to thoroughly research the company beforehand to avoid falling victim to the deceptive practices of companies like AON.
Complete scam. Will do anything to not honor your policy even though paid in full in good faith . My dying brother in law had a last request to go on a cruise . He was bed ridden and passed away . That’s why we bought the policy . AON refuses to work with us . They actually are blaming Royal Caribbean . NEVER BUY THE INSURANCE POLICY
I BOOKED A 12 DAY CRUISE ON ROYAL CARIBBEAN FOR MY HUSBAND AND I IN APRIL 2023 FOR A CRUISE THAT LEFT DEC 6. 2023. ROYAL OFFERED AON TRAVEL INSURANCE SO WE TOOK IT BECAUSE YOU NEVER KNOW WHAG COULD GO WRONG. WE HAVE NEVER HAD TO USE IT IN THE PAST. THIS TRIP HOWEVER, WE CANCELLED IN NOV 2023 BECAUSE OF A MEDICAL REASON. WE SENT ALL DOCUMENTS TO AON VIA FAX AND THEY CLAIMED THEY NEVER RECEIVED IT. WE WERE GIVEN 2 DIFFERENT FAX #'S. I THEN WENT AHEAD AND ASKED MY DOCTORS TO FORWARD MY MEDICAL RECORDS TO AON. AON CLAIMS THEY RECEIVED ALL DOCUMENTS EXCEPT FROM THE DOCTOR THAT EXPLAINED MH NEED FOR C-SPINE SURGERY. WE ARE NOW AT THE END OF AUG 2024 AND I'M NOW GOING BACK AND FORTH OVER AON LYING AND SAYING THEY STILL HAVEN'T RECEIVED THE MEDICAL RECORDS THAG PROVE MY CKNDITION AND NEED FOR SURGERY. IF YOU CRUISE THROUGH ROYAL CARIBBEAN, DON'T TAKE THE TRAVEL INSURANCE IF IT'S AON. SEEK INSIRANCE ON YOUR OWN. I HAVE LOST ALL FAITH AND CONFIDENCE IN ROYAL CARIBBEAN BECAUSE THEH REFUSE TO HELP ME. SHAME ON ROYAL CARIBBEAN AND AON FOR RIPPING OFF TRAVELERS!!! I WAS FOOLISH ENOUGH TO THINK ROYAL CARIBBEAN WOULD HELP ME IN ANY WAY. ALL THEY DID WAS TELL ME I HAVE TO DEAL WITH AON ON MY OWN. WITH THAT BEING SAID, ROYAL CARIBBEAN HAS $2700 OF OUR MONEY AND WE CAN'T GET ANY OF IT BACK.
Had to cancel my Europe cruise 9 months before the cruise departure date. I had to file a claim to get my $900 deposit back. AON travel insurance has been stringing me alone for months and months. I informed them that my medical records are available to them as my medical provider will not fill out AON extensive paperwork. AON response is that since my medical provider has not responded they are closing my claim unless I can provide them more details about my claim. When did the burden fall upon me? I have given everything I have to AON and I am no closer to my refund than I was day one. This is a scam. They do nothing and then deny the claims for lack of information. SCAM.
After reading most reviews I felt like I would never see a refund on our unfortunate cancellation. My husband was diagnosed with Ecoli and Afib two days before we were to fly to our cruise location. He was hospitalized and was released the day the cruise sailed. Sick for 11/2 weeks after. We filed our claim October 25, 2023 with all required documentation. Today, November 13, 2023 the money is in our bank account. The people at AON were always very helpful and I believe this is a great turnaround on reimbursement. This is an honest review of our experience. No
They are the WORST. I got Covid on a trip to Italy and missed most of the trip. I had to pay for hotels, food, taxis, and the doctor. I missed most of the tour. They didn't cover more than $150 a day in Florence? I couldn't get a hotel there for that much and I was so ill. They made me jump through hoops for 7 months before they paid anything. I had to submit to Medicare even though it was clearly stated that Medicare would not pay for a doctor visit out of the country. Then they made me submit a claim to my secondary insurance who clearly stated they would not pay a dime if Medicare didn't pay. What a waste of time. They knew it from the start, but I still had to submit and wait months to get the rejections. It has caused me so much anxiety and frustration. Never buy AON insurance.
The worst experience ever. I had to cancel my 35th anniversary cruise with Carnival because of reconstructive foot surgery. I submitted my claim complete including necessary medical support information. They denied my claim with some blah, blah, blah about pre-existing condition. How is foot surgery a pre-existing condition? do not do business with them or with Carnival Cruise as they sold me the insurance.
On September 20, 2021 I purchased a trip with Tauck to go to Yellowstone Park with my wife in September 2023. Beginning in June of 2023 I began to have vision issues. This was blurred vision, dried eye, redness. I visited my Optometrist and was diagnosed with dry eye. As I progressed thru treatments my vision was still blurred. I worried that a trip to Yellowstone with biking, white water rafting, and hiking was not going to be much fun with my condition. I cancelled the trip with Tauck and submitted a claim with AON. Documentation for my claim as well as medical records are attached. AON rejected my claim indicating that I was not disabled for travel. I am not disabled but was vision impaired. The AON agent indicated that having my doctor check the box for disability would get my claim paid. The agent also indicated that this claim would not be shared with the DMV. A claim with a box checked for vision issues and AON wont share that with the DMV. I pursued the claim with AON with no satisfaction. I continued to go to the doctor(s) as my I was still having vision issues. With steroids my vision is improving. I have cloudiness in my eyes and had surgery on my right eye on September 20, 2023. Surgery for me left eye is October 4, 2023. What fun would a trip be to Yellowstone with blurred vision and not able to enjoy biking, rafting, and hiking. I am asking that my travel claim be paid and my travel costs reimbursed.
