Poor communication

My wife and I planned a cruise to celebrate the end of her cancer treatments. At the time we booked our cruise she was not experiencing the side effects anywhere close to what she was after the treatments were over. On top of that, she tested positive for Covid three weeks prior to the cruise. Her oncologist told her that she should not proceed with the cruise. This was documented and forwarded to AON. Apparently that was not enough. They also told us that she was required to have a Doctor’s Covid test documented, and the home test was not accepted as proof. We are very disappointed with the lack of communication from AON. We sent many documents and received a confirmation of reception. When they did not reply, we called and they said they had not received anything. This happened more than once. If you purchase, you better believe they will do anything possible to get out of refunding as promised. We are so disappointed.

completely worthless insurance

completely worthless insurance. You don’t get any of the fine print upfront when you pay for the travel insurance. We had a trip delay out of Atlanta, a connecting flight, causing us to be three hours late arriving in Miami. The cruise ship left without us. They call this a trip delay and not a cancellation even though we never got on board the cruise ship we got reimbursed $600 total for our trip delay as they call it. The insurance was $450.

My husband and I had planned a cruise…

My husband and I had planned a cruise three months after my surgery as a celebratory trip. Unfortunately, an unexpected medical issue came up, and we had to cancel. We submitted all the required forms, and the cancer institute submitted theirs as well. After hearing nothing back, we followed up—only to be told there were more forms to complete, some online and another set that had to be mailed to the institute (which, by the way, was never received).Every bit of progress has only happened when we initiated it. I’ve now completed seven weeks of radiation, and we still haven’t heard anything.

If I could leave a zero I would

If I could leave a zero I would. These are the biggest scammers ever. They denied my claim on an issue that I told them that I was not filing on to only redo the claim and reran the claim that I had changed from. The biggest scam company ever.

COMPLETE CROCK OF CRAP BUSINESS

Only get one star because that is LOWEST choice. What a waste of money. Purchased thru NORWEGIAN CRUISE LINE --whole completely different mistake. Had to cancel cruise because 1st-flight cancelled due to winter snow storm. NORWEGIAN CRUISE LINE AIR TRAVEL rebooked flight for next day to fly into Atlanta then direct to Dominican Republic to catch cruise the following day. This in 2025. Denied boarding because did not have (not told by NORWEGIAN AIR DIVISION) that QR code-permisison from Dominican Republic to fly into the country. OUT ALMOST $4000.00. AON TRAVEL PROTECTION PLAN A COMPLETE CROCK OF CRAP--$ZERO

AON doesn’t pay even though we had…

AON doesn’t pay even though we had doctors blessing to go. They know more than doctors do just ask them. They will make up whatever so they don’t have to pay. Several complaints. Go to a real insurance company not AON scammers

Submitted cancellation for cruise…

Submitted cancellation for cruise 9-29-25 for spouse who had medical issues from an amputation. After submitting all documents requested, the company requested even more. Now, it sits in limbo 6 weeks later. Still unresolved. Today 11-14-25, Representative on phone was not allowing me to finish my sentences, talking over me. Very unprofessional.

I have seen alot of bad reviews

I have seen alot of bad reviews. I didn't experience this. My claim was approved within 5 days of them receiving it and it was approved. I then received my refund the process was less than the 10 days they say it may take. All of the customer service people I dealt with where kind and curious. I have absolutely no complaints. I am very happy with the service they provided me.

NO RESPONSE FROM AON

I have been trying to file a claim with Aon for months on a cruise that was booked to depart on May 12, 2026. Every time I emailed them I kept getting emails stating that someone would be in contact with me and no one ever called. I could not submit my claim via the internet as it states you are supposed to do. I am no longer able to go for reasons that are not specifically covered. Anyone thinking about using this insurance company, I would suggest you reconsider. If you do not fill their criteria exactly, they will not cover you. I wasn't even expecting the whole amount back, but I paid in more than $1000.00 and was only expected a small portion back, but they will not honor even that small request. I work with credible international travel companies on a regular basis. The insurance companies they use pay 100% back regardless of the reason. PLEASE use another travel insurance company just in case something happens.

AON is completely useless travel…

AON is completely useless travel insurance; do not purchase. our family cruise was missed due to the airlines cancelling our flight which was out of our hands. AON refuses to refund us due to the airline reporting "maintenance issues". This would be exactly why travel insurance would be needed. yet AON refuses to reimburse our claim. the entire cruise was missed so we lost the cruise ammount. Carnival cruise does not offer refunds and instead refers us to AON for reimbursement. AON further refuses to even refund the ammount we purchased the travel protection. complete scam, do not use them.
