I could not give ZERO and had to give 1 star. I am joining the voices of many who share their frustration of not able to get this company to pay what they promised. My mother was hospitalized the week before her cruise and was discharged on the day of the cruise. However, they were telling me many different excuses to not follow through on the claim despite the fact that I got a note from an APRN at the hospital who provided care and her primary care physician who also cared for her at the hospital. I have found Travel Insurance Ombudsman that could support people who are in such a situation as I am. I plan to reach out to them if this company continues to refuse reimbursing what is promised. If not, I think all the people who are in the similar situation need to go to court with class action suit.
Purchased the travel insurance for a cruise on Royal Carribean my husband had to be hospitalized had surgery's 20 days before departure. Now they will do anything to get out of paying i am appealing a denial at this moment i wish i had read all the previous reviews mostly 1 stars i would never have used them. I gave one star if i could give less i would. they tell me they are reviewing it and reaching out to doctor but i think its smoke and mirrors. i will be on this company constantly till they do what is right
BEWARE!!! This company will rip you off and leave you with the bills! My flight home was cancelled by Air Canada (horrible and will never use again). I was left stranded in a foreign country with no way home…no option offered by the airline. I had purchased Aon’s travel insurance through Globus travel company, so I was not worried. Globus was able to book me on another return flight home for over $800. The insurance I was sold covered delays/illnesses/cancellations etc… After sending Aon multiple proof of my itenerary, receipts etc…they are only comping me $300…of the over $800 I spent! This fraudulent promise of travel insurance is a sham! This company needs to be taken out of business! I implore everyone to please condemn businesses who promote Aon as their travel insurance partner! As much as I love Globus Tours, this experience makes me really not support them either. We as consumers need to take a stand and fight for what is right…out of principle! Yes, I am angry about the over $500 difference…and I still expect that from Aon, but it is also the principle of them lying and cheating consumers from their hard earned money and from a paid service that consumers are not getting!
Regent 7 Seas Explorer allowed passengers to embark for Alaska without even testing their temperature boarding. Sure enough, I got COVID19. I had a severe case and needed emergency ship medical care. The Regent charged me $4350 for one day's worth of care; they took no responsibiity for anything. AON paid every single bill. It took time as they have step by step procedures but in the end, they paid every penny.
AON Trip Protection Insurance - which is offered by Road Scholar - wears you down. I am now on my fourth "contact us in 10-12 days" message from AON about my June 23 submission. My American flight was delayed 24 hours (that's not a misprint) and cancelled. I missed my two-week hiking vacation in England. Three weeks later, AON required a letter from American confirming the length of delay and cancellation. On July 24, I submitted that letter from American. It is now going on six weeks and still no word from AON. A suggestion for improvement: 1) Require the letter from the airline in your initial request for documents since this is standard procedure, I was told. This might prevent the unsatisfactory delay in reimbursement that I am experiencing now, 74 days after my initial submission.2) Do not outsource your calls to reps in Philippines. Two of my calls were directed there. One person was unable to understand my issue. The other gave me wrong information on what would be satisfactory documents to submit. I'm still waiting.
We planned on a cruise that my father in law said he was too ill to take. After seeing urgent care--with nothing found he went on to see his regular doctor and was emergently hospitalized for two weeks. Had he gone on the cruise, he very well could have been ill and hospitalized with what actually happened while out at sea or in a foreign country. We thought how great it was that we had gotten the insurance--but it just keeps being put off with requests for more medical records or a different form, even with letter from his physician provided. The insurance was to cover travel not taken FOR ANY REASON--not just medical issues. NEVER GET THIS INSURANCE--9 months later and still a shell game with no resolution in sight.
Don't deal with this company. We planned a cruise for us and our two sons’ families. We purchased travel insurance through AON. One daughter-in-law became pregnant after booking and ended up with some health issues and concerns. Not a “normal” pregnancy. They declined our claim. Waste of our money and time. We are done with Royal Caribbean as well for associating themselves with AON. Other options available.
All travel was arranged through NCL for a land and sea cruise. One of our flights on the front end of the trip was cancelled which caused us to miss part of the tour. We had to find flights, a hotel room & train tickets to catch up to our tour group. We are out several thousand dollars due to no fault of our own. We filed a claim and AON will only pay us $500 each. Less than what we paid for the insurance. Horrible customer service. DO NOT USE AON Travel insurance!
I'd give zero stars if I could. We were booked on a cruise in April. Six weeks before one of the kids in our group was in a dirt bike accident and severely injured. Cruise was canceled because he wouldn't be able to walk. Insurance was denied because the accident happened less than 60 days from the purchase of the insurance! How is that even legal? Now Carnival is refusing to refund or even credit us for the cruise. I will never buy trip insurance again and I will tell everyone I know to never trust AON, total waste of money.
Supposed to be affiliated with Princess cruises but the two companies do not work together to resolve issues. They are a nightmare to work with. No one knows what to do … continually transferred to different people who don’t have answers.
