Aon Insurance

We purchased Aon insurance through Oceania Cruise Line for a trip to the Norwegian Fjords. Our pre and post cruise stops in London and Oslo were arranged by and paid for through Oceania. Insurance was charged on the total cost of the trip. My partner had her passport stolen in London, had to remain in London to obtain a Temporary passport from the US Embassy and had to fly to Belfast to join the cruise on its third day. Due to the Temporary passport we both had to disembark early in Oslo and depart the country immediately by flying home. We lost the funds we had paid for two nights in Oslo and our return airfare tickets. Aon considered this a "delay" in our trip and not an "interruption" meaning that our reimbursement was limited to $500 each. Collectively we lost over $11,000 due to this insurance scam. Do not ever arrange insurance through Oceania or Aon Insurance.

The review is a zero not a one

The review is a zero not a one. They won’t allow a zero and they should. This company is unprofessional and incompetent. We booked a Tauck cruise we had to cancel. We purchased the insurance at the time of the cruise so there is no pre-existing condition limitation. The cruise and Aon agreed. We sent 2 doctor letters indicating the date he could not go on the cruise. Aon wants complete medical records for my husband. I could not believe it. They said they want to make sure my husband was OK to travel at the time I booked the trip. Do you really think I would book a trip for somebody who is incapacitated to travel? They over reach and are plain bullies. They don’t want to pay And look for every reason not to. This company should be thoroughly investigated for their practices

AON is Trash

No stars. It is bad that a reputable cruiseline like Carnival has a company like AON servicing their clients. Horrible service. You pay for insurance and you get zero back. We had to cancel due to my husband getting pneumonia 5 days before our trip. He was admitted to hospital. I had dr fill out paperwork same day. Flyer say refund of funds paid or waiver of cancelation fees. Well Carnival- didn't charge cancelation fee or give refund and neither has Aon when it clearly states refund. Decline AON ( Carnival travel protection) and go with Alliance Global. They are an excellent travel Insurance. Signed a frustrated travel agent.

Aon insurance is a SCAM

Aon insurance is a SCAM. They do not cover anything. Dont waste your money. They don't cover anything. I was on a cruise just walked on the boat. I received word of my nephews death. They will not pay because I filed as trip cancel not trip interruptions. They do not cover death. THEY TOLD ME TO READ FINE PRINT. THEY DO NOT COVER DEATH. If it does not fit their criteria. I have been fighting with them since May. I have asked to talk to manager and cowards will not call me back. They hide behind form letters. AON IS NOT REPUTABLE!

Buyer beware. Find another travel insurance provider.

Needed to cancel (last March) a short cruise due to medical circumstances that required surgery. To date, I have still not recieved reimbursement for the paid amount. Aon delayed at every opportunity...asked for duplicate medical information from my care providers for many weeks. Total claim was approximately $2800...Aon offered to pay $427.50. Still looking for answers but not hopeful they will resolve the matter fairly. I'm filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Stay away!

AON is computer only and all has to be…

AON is computer only and all has to be uploaded and no email attachments. This is definitely discrimination against the elderly and those that are not computer savvy, They want to not pay out claims. Beware!!! Buy your travel insurance from your local travel agent.

What a scam

What a scam. If this is the insurance offered, save yourself the money. We had a cruise booked and had each purchased this insurance ($39/$39/$69). One of the group (married to the other in the group) underwent surgery and subsequently had a stroke. According to AON, this was not covered. The doctor would not clear the person for a flight and then the cruise so we had no choice but to cancel. I’m not sure what would’ve been covered.

Worst Experience Ever

We had to cancel for an ongoing medical issue that was getting worse. We filled out all the paperwork, had the doctor fill it out TWICE and our claim was denied several times. I jumped thru hoops trying to satisfy their requirements only to be denied time after time. Their customer service representatives were curt, unapologetic and just downright unpleasant. It wasn't until I escalated the claim with a detailed timeline to the Better Business Bureau did they finally respond with kindness, or should I say Damage Control. I got a pittance of a refund finally but not all that I had put down for a river cruise. They closed the case and I had to be satisfied. I have never had this kind of bad customer service before from a travel insurance company. I'll never use their services again

A Disguised Insurance Company

I cancelled my cruise due to my husband heart attack. I submitted request and they dragged me through out the process. They requested so many things and I gave them everything they wanted. Towards the end they were requesting information that was there in the medical records, that even a 5th grader could read. At the end they said that Carnival could not refund any of my money. I honestly did not understand if I was dealing with the insurance not Carnival. I did not even buy the insurance, they add it like an automatic thing without telling you. They're scammers.

Horrible business model

Horrible business model. They operate more like a scam than a legitimate business offering travel insurance. We booked the cruise and bought Aon’s travel insurance through the cruise line. We experienced a “qualified” medical emergency the day before the cruise, so we never boarded. We filed a claim right away through Aon, with supporting paperwork from medical professionals. Aon continued to ask us for more and more paperwork over time as we continued to provide evidence. It seemed like quite a long stall. Nine months later, we received the decision that they denied our claim. Having had phone calls with them and provided evidence to them signed by the doctor, it seemed as if Aon never intended to approve the claim. “Stall and deny.” I will never trust Aon’s products again. If you can find some other insurance for your travel plans, do it.
