I would give negative stars if that existed. DO NOT BUY THIS “travel protection”. You will not be reimbursed. I filed a legitimate claim, even after being advised by Carnival Cruise, and was denied. Carnival and AON are a complete scam. Spend your hard earned money on a different cruise ship with different travel protection and actually have piece of mind before and during your vacation. I lost hundreds of dollars believing in both Carnival and their “travel protection”. Don’t make the same mistake.
This must be the worst company ever. They have you purchase travel protection and then don't honor the contract. I purchased this insurance for myself, my daughter, and my grandson. When I tell you it has been a roller coaster trying to get my money back from this company, I mean it. I paid $2,575.00 for the trip. I work for the federal government and because of the disaster in Tampa, we are being deployed. I provided them with the travel documents, the emails, along with the date, time, and location. The representative advised me that they only deal with military disasters when this was mandated by the military. They have not yet allowed me to speak with someone in the corporate office, and AON sent an email saying military travel is the only way they would pay. I really need some assistance with this matter. When I initially signed up, they never told me this. I keep reaching out to AON. It clearly states on your website that work-related travel is included.
I had a Royal Caribbean Cruise scheduled for myself and my wife in December 2024. In August my health declined and my physician informed me that I could not travel. Royal Caribbean refunded their portion of my cruise almost immediately. I just got off the phone with AON (again). They have had all documentation from my doctors since 9/7/24 but have not issued my refund because "it is still under review" and there is no expected timeline for them to complete the review. It is outrageous that they are refusing to honor my claim despite having all documentation for over two months. They are a scam and will avoid paying at all costs. My next step is to contact the state insurance commissioner. Judging from the number of 1 star reviews on here with similar issues I think this company is begging for a class action lawsuit for their pattern of not paying out justified claims.
Totally SCAM Company....due to heart issue..had to cancel trip a month before cruise date..had no trouble with Norwegian Cruise lines....BUT AON is a totally different story....filed claim....provided required documents....now they are (after almost 6 wks) not following up...replying to emails about status of claim or replying to messages. We purchased NCL insurance in good faith that IF we needed to file a claim the processes would be less stressful. NOT!!! I truly feel that If I do have a heart attack they and AON contributed to my stress!! If We EVER get resolution of this claim we will never go on a NCL cruise because AON is their cruise insurance provider!!
AON is no different than all insurance companies..deny, deny, deny!! Our flight was canceled due to a hurricane, we lost an expensive room in Quebec & 1 day on the ship on the front side, the back side another hurricane, Milton, we lost an expensive room in Boston, due to the flight canceled....AON DENIED ALL...DON'T USE THEM.
I purchased travel insurance through Disney, administered by Aon Affinity/Arch Insurance, for my October 2024 trip. A mandatory hurricane evacuation forced me to leave two days early, leaving me with $690 in unused, non-refundable hotel accommodations.Disney refunded my park tickets and meals, but the insurance company has repeatedly denied my claim, giving shifting excuses — first saying I had been reimbursed (which was only partially true), then saying my accommodations weren’t booked “directly” through Disney (which is not an exclusion in the policy).I have submitted receipts, a letter from the rental company confirming the non-refundable amount, and copies of the policy showing coverage. Despite this, I’ve been asked multiple times to re-upload documents, only to face more denials and delays. This experience has been exhausting, and I feel the company is making me work far harder than should be necessary for a clear covered loss. I cannot recommend Aon Affinity for travel insurance.
Do not purchase ...waste of money. They try their hardest to deny your claim. It's extremely hard to speak with an actual person. There are so many hoops to jump through. Paper proof that is cumbersome to obtain...such a hassle and in the end they deny most claims.
We took AON insurance since it was the one provided by NCL. In the end due to a flight cancellation we missed the start of our cruise and had to make accommodations to catch the ship at its next port. I ended up spending money earmarked for the cruise to cover this. Making a claim through AON it has been a non=stop hassle to get document after document for them. Further I have found that the cruise line confirmed everything with AON and they still wanted more confirmations. It is now weeks since the cruise and the claim and they are now reviewing again. Very poor service and review process. Ruined our trip and left us with limited funds after the trip.
We booked a Mediterranean cruise for our 30th wedding anniversary. We were so excited, planned for 2 years. The cruise line handled all of our travel and it should have been very convenient and easy. That's why we booked a cruise. Got on the first plane and immediately got deplaned because of a minor mechanical issue. That plane never took off. We would never have made our connecting flight to Spain. We had to "check out" of the flights so the cruise company could rebook our flights. There was no way to make it to the port of departure at that late time. The option was to leave the next day, change planes twice, go through customs in 2 countries where we don't speak the language, on our own: rent a hotel, find travel from airport to hotel, hotel to ship. It was too stressful, so we made the difficult decision not to go. We thought we would try again next year. Surprise! Insurance doesn't cover that. We would not have made the ship in that port either because of airline delays. What a waste of money. We lost $6000! So much for that very special celebration. The representative from the cruise line told me the issues with airlines happens very frequently since COVID. Moral of the story, find travel insurance that will cover you not being able to even get to the ship.
This company is a SCAM impersonating as a reputable travel insurance firm. My wife booked a trip through a well-known travel agency in June this year (2024) for a trip in April 2025. Based on the travel agency's recommendation, she paid Aon $2,600 for travel insurance for this trip in 2025.In August 2025, she realized she didn't want to go on this trip next year. As a result she filed a claim with Aon Affinity trip insurance for a refund of the $2,600.It was denied being based on a unapproved reason. She paid $2,600 for insurance for a trip 10 months in advance. A little over a month later she decided to cancel the trip. How does her reason for cancellation have anything to do with receiving a refund? What right does the insurance company have to deny a refund based upon her reason? She received no value for this $2,600 insurance. Aon incurred no costs or risk based upon her cancellation. This firm is a SCAM.Don't fall for Aon Affinity masquerading as a legitimate insurance provider. It's a SCAM.
