Mercedes terrible car sales and services

Mercedes cars reviewHi All,Am writing this email with a lot frustration and agony after buying my car from Mercedes showroom in Swansea.Pre sales issue: 1. Incorrect information: I was not provided correct information while buying the car, I was shown a wrong broacher and sold a car which is an earlier model. I have already purchased the car and hence I didn’t want to debate and moved on.Technical issues of MERC GLB:1. Touch locking: The locking didn’t work initially for the first few days.2. Auto hold: The auto hold feature wasn’t working the first few days. 3. Anti brake assist: on the very second day I found the anti-brake assist was disabled and I have to drop the vehicle to the showroom in a week time. Vehicle was at the storeroom for a week and I was told there were no issues and there were some software updates installed.4. Engine noise & brakes burning smell: after the ignition is switched off: this is by far the most annoying one. I could hear the engine noise consistently after a short trip. When I raised the issue, I was informed by the technical team that the since this is a new car or takes the DPF filter to clear and it should go of itself after few long drives.5. A/C issues: The car air condition stopped working and it feels like the blower is only working. only when I set the temperature to 16*C I could feel the cold, other wise it feels like the air coming from blower.6. Digital screen switches off: The central digital screen switched off abruptly while driving and it didn’t turn on for about an hour.7. Mercedes Me app: This is the most useless app I have ever used; I get a collision detection message when a standing next to the car. I get the car unlocked when the car is locked. Its just random and intermittent. The customer service is as useless, these guys are the most helpless and underpowered people I every spoke to. They just close cases and cannot even find the details. Breakdown team cannot see the notes of customer care. Customer car cannot see the notes of complaints and dealers work independently. There is a reason Mercedes is the most non reliable brand across the globe. Cars and customer services speak to themselves. List of complaints raised by me since I purchased this car.00263833, 00624502, 01390195, 01459197, 01498954, 01540155, 01546816, 01549807, 01559233, 01572425Thanks,Raj

Took our car to Ipswich at 9.30 was told as…

Took our car to Ipswich at 9.30 was told as per usual they would need it for a day, it’s a 2021 top of the range coupe, done very little miles and already the electric seat has stopped working, warranty work, got a call at 15.10 saying they would need a bit more time, I asked if there was a courtesy car or Ann electric demonstrator we could have as we may change our 2020 Tiguan soonWe got fed up and drove home 4.45 still no call back so I called them, the deputy manageress answered no apology just ranting about no courtesy car which we were not interested in now as we drove home, phoned us back again going on about the courtesy car! I asked what was happening about our car, eventually she told me a part had to be ordered and they would endeavour to get our car done by close of business tomorrow, shocking service will definitely never buy the next from this franchise

A relaxing, enjoyable experience

George introduced himself while I was browsing through cars cars parked outside the Mercedes showroom in Exeter. From that moment on he made the difficult business of choosing the right vehicle more of a pleasure than a chore. He was knowledgeable, respectful, highly professional and always positive. Initially, I was fearful of the multitude of buttons and the options presented by the designers of the GLA but his relaxed attitude and confidence in my driving was reassuring. The quite unbelievably low mileage and exceptional condition for a four year old car, coupled with Mercedes attention to detail helped by George’s relaxed approach, convinced me to complete the purchase. I am still a little uncertain but George has made it clear that he is always accessible and looks forward to supporting me through any future problems I encounter. Thank you George and Mercedes.

I will never buy another Mercedes

I will never buy another Mercedes. Our A Class, which we owned for four years, is a lovely car. However, when it broke down with a faulty thermostat (cost if replacement £55), the bill to replace from Mercedes was exorbitant (over £900) and they had my car for a long time (more than a week). Moreover, Mercedes a) charge almost £300 to activate Apple CarPlay and b) remove access to several other features (like live traffic updates) after a couple of years and expect me to pay an annual fee to reconnect. If you want to know a perfect way to annoy your own customers, follow their example!I am now buying a new Kia. The interior of that car is no less luxurious than my MB and the technology (e.g. Sat Nav) is far better. Not only do they give me a 7 year warranty, but they don’t charge me for any of the features Mercedes did. No wonder Mercedes are losing market share to the Koreans. Sorry Mercedes but you’ve lost me as a customer for the foreseeable future at least.

What a joke

Took my car to Mercedes Cheshire oaks on a Thursday evening to be looked at on Friday. It’s a convertible and a tension string has snapped. 2020 car one month out of warranty. The roof must have only done a few hours of work given the British weather. No phone call all day Friday so I turned up for the car at 5.10 pm. I was waiting until 5.50pm to be told it needs to be priced and someone will email me. People arrived after me and were seen before me. Waited for three days, with a number of phone calls to no avail. Monday I was promised a quote by the end of the day. Still nothing. Finally got to speak to someone on Tuesday after being on hold for a full 15 mins to be told I need discs and pads ? I said I just want a price for the roof string. They hit me with a price of £3300!!!! What a joke! I’ve took it to a specialist convertible roof company who is doing the job for £625.

I can’t believe a company as big as…

I can’t believe a company as big as Mercedes Benz makes such a crappy infotainment system that can not be removed and replaced with an aftermarket head unit, recently purchased my 5th sprinter which came with 7” mbux the thing is useless, when on the road the Bluetooth volume is so low I have to tell people I will call back when I stop as I can hardly hear them, so I thought ok simple fix change the head unit for a after market name brand one oh no can’t do that the way how it is it does not allow for you to do that can only work with there unit (nonsense) the only way you can change it is if you have the basic radio without a screen from the factory (should of done my research before spending £26000) now stuck with this crap for the foreseeable future with times being so hard it’s not like I can run out and change vehicle at will, why would they do something like this dictating what kind of system you have when there ones are crap of all the sprinters I’ve had the stereo’s have always been rubbish but at least I have been able to upgrade to a aftermarket unit. Don’t like fords but come on the transits sound so much better and I’m sure they cost far less. I purchased a £1100 alpine head unit meant to be specific for the sprinter only to find out it will only work if you have the basic stereo

Excellent used car purchase.

I recently bought a used Mercedes C class cabrio from Sytner in Sunderland. I had been looking for one for a while and had test driven three at other Mercedes dealers and been disappointed by the quality of the approved cars and the general attitude of the dealers and their sales staff. I located this particular car from Mercedes online site and arranged for it to be delivered to Mercedes Sytner in Sunderland having no previous experience of this dealership either positive or negative, so I began with no preconceptions from previous dealers. The car was delivered to Sytner and prepared for my test drive. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this approved used car and with the professional attitude of the sales person, Grant Wilson. The test drive went well. I requested that a very small kerbing mark on one alloy be corrected and they quickly agreed to sort this out. We agreed on a collection date and we arrived to collect the car a few days later. On collection the car was exactly as promised and had been prepared to a very high standard. Grant spent some time explaining all the controls of the car to us and we drove away as delighted customers of this branch. We will definitely return here when we look to change and hope that Grant is still there. He was professional, courteous and knowledgeable and the car is exactly what we were looking for.
