Too many scammers and fake products. The idea of the site is great. But they allow way too many fake items, and don’t protect sellers that well. I’ve had quite a few problems while selling. Buyers complain and there’s nothing you can do other than accept a loss. Wish too see improvement in the future.
A great consept and way to shop with others - BUT...Vinted has a non existent customer service and - if possible - an even worse (and illegal?) return policy.If a seller sends you a totaly wrong product, the normal practice (and rules) are that buyer NEVER has to pay for return shipment of such a product.But that is not how it is done by Vinted.If a seller on Vinted sends something wrong to you (= NOT what you bought!), they ask BUYER to pay for return shipment. Only if seller OFFERS to pay for it, can buyer return the product without costs.Apart from this, Vinted is also very bad at getting back to you, when you contact them. Especialy if it is an issue they do not earn money from.This is NOT acceptable and NOT how a decent company should do - at all!Shame on you, Vinted!
Platform is great. I really like and support the idea and practice of circular economy. However, Vinted itself isn't customer friendly when you actually need their support. I purchased a pair of trousers described as 'new without tags'. When I received them, one of the hems is completely unraveled and requires sewing. The buy replied that she didn't realize that until now, but refused to pay for the return shipping. Despite 'Buyer protection', Vinted didn't step in to support. Robot replies a same answer. This is first time that I ever needed a support from Vinted side and obviously buyer isn't protected and has to pay the price despite the false description.
Embarrassing Customer Service - you pay each time for buyer protection. When you need it, you get nothing and the worst customer service in history online.I bought earpods that did not work. The Seller agreed to take them back - then I paid to send them back and I ended up paying shipping twice and returned the airpods but never received a refund. You pay to be protected but vinted just keeps that money - every time. Helping people scam and sell fake stuff online.
You can easily sell or buy stuff and that's great. But I miss the early days of vinted where postage fees and the bunch of other fees that you pay now were lower. The core part of vinted was that instead of wasting clothes you can sell them or buy cheap. But when the buyer pays more in fees than what the clothes cost.. it removes the whole purpose of it. I know developers have to make a living out of it but, I dont know find another way.
