Yes, I was made upset by the two staff ladies namely, Addie and Medline. They are destroying your valuable company as they are not cooperative with potential customers or authors.Generally, new authors need to be made aware of any rules your company might be using when it comes to publication.
Overall my impression is that the company is money driven and not customer focussed. I have received a lot of phone calls about selling me services, however when I try to phone with questions it was often hard to get hold of someone.I think it is important to know that the creative process is very personal and sensitive and giving your creation in hands of others needs sensitivity. I would have appreciated if I had received a phone call when I send all the materials instead of an e-mail that only talked about the next steps. The first books I received were a misprint. I phoned and was told it was in hand. I was asked to send evidence which I did and I clearly stated four points that were wrong with the print. I received newly printed books and only one of the four points was dealt with. Nobody phoned me to discuss this, despite my request. The final print is very disappointing. The photos are a very poor print. This project was important to me and I am very sorry it has been a negative experience.
Xlibris advertised it would provide ready personal contact and followed through with that well. The service was attentive and the process was made clear. The number of contacts from different departments might have become confusing had it continued, but the production of the book was done with despatch, so it was completed before any problems would develop. On the negative side the company sent marketing representatives, one of whom was far too persistent, to propose an expensive extension of the marketing support, inappropriate to this book in my view.
To all viewers, my name is Shermaine Gore and I am writing this review because this was my first time writing a book and I decided to get my book published with Xlibris publishing company. I had a great experience with this publishing company. Ms. Cecil Sands walked me through the whole process from the beinning to the end. I have spoken with Ms. Ahsley. Ms. Melanie, Ms. Michelle, Mr. Jose, and Mr. McMillan just to name a few from the Marketing Department. My book is now published and on the market. I am looking foward in writing my next two books and getting them published by Xlibris. Best Regards, Shermaine Gore
I am very satisfied with the final product. It looks very professional and beautiful. The persons guiding me throughout the process were very attentive and helpful. This is my 4th book published by Xlibris and I hope to continue working with them.My manuscript was returned with for a couple of errors in the front cover and first page. I advised Xlibris of their mistake and they corrected promptly, leaving the book as I wanted.
I published three books with Xlibris Publishes. The support that I received over the years from them is professional, timely and with significant patience.I highly recommend them for new writers needing encoursgenent, and patience to fulfill their goal.
