I set up a car rental through Priceline…

I set up a car rental through Priceline with York to pick up my rental at the Tampa Airport. To my surprise they are not located in the airport like my reservation said but at an offsite location not even close to the airport. We had no way of getting there and they didn't offer shuttle service. I tried to call them and could not get through. We had to rent with another car company. I will never ever use this company again. False advertising.

Rented car through Priceline.com and…

Rented car through Priceline.com and had the worst experience with the scammers at York car rental in Fort Lauderdale Florida. Took 2 hours to try to get car. They wanted a $2500 hold on my credit card. Got the car. Went 1 block and already had a low pressure reading on right front tire. Came back to York and asked for a replacement car. They proceeded to drive the car away, fill the tire and give it back to me and said everything was ok with the car. I looked at the tire and it had a screw in it. I refused to take the car, and asked for a new car. They refused to give me a new car. Asked for another $150 credit card hold and said that I couldn’t prove that I didn’t drive over the screw. I refused to give them additional monies and returned to the airport to rent a car from Hertz without a hitch. AVOID YORK AT ALL COST.

Worst car rental experience ever I believe they’re here just try to buy up all the extra I rent cars at least twice a year when I go away. I figured I’ll save a few dollars the place is scam.

If i could give zero stars i would

If i could give zero stars i would. I reserved a car for my trip to Tampa through priceline. Landed at the airport, waited for my luggage which was delayed, waited 40 minutes for the shuttle, waited another 40 minutes on line at the rental company to watch everyone in front of me be denied their car rental. I get to the counter and i am told my reservation was cancelled due to being "late" for pick up - which was due to their shuttle being late and waiting in line. and that they could not do anything about it. This was paid IN FULL upon booking. I then asked them to rent a car (since i needed a car) and they said they couldnt do an "at counter" booking and there was nothing they could do for me. People on line behind me were also turned away for the same reason. WORST EXPERIENCE. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

York Car Rental in FLL not recommended

In priceline I reserved a medium SUV like the RAV4 and they give a small SUV a Nissan Kicks. I did allegations to the personnel and they didn't give me the equivalent. I paid in Priceline an insurance but they made me paid for another insurance obligatory telling me that if I dont paid that insurance I can not rent.

DO NOT RENT FROM HERE. YOU WILL REGRET IT AND BE STUCK WITH OUT A CAR. If I could give this place zero stars I would. They don’t even deserve one star. They cancel your car rental (that was already paid for in advanced) if you show up an hour past your window time. The line was so long due to an event with some people still in their window time but by the time they got up to the counter they were turned away bc of going past their time. Even if it was by 5 minutes. They do not car at all. We were left stranded with no car. The staff was rude and disrespectful. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS PLACE.

My car rental experience with York Car…

My car rental experience with York Car Rental in Tampa was so unique I felt like I was in a hidden-camera show. When I arrived, someone was stomping out, yelling, "They're effing con artists, man!" There were two other customers at the counters who were also engaged in angry conversations. One of them was so enraged that the representative actually called 911 to get them removed. They finally left, looking at me and saying, "Good luck! They suck!" Now I just had to stay and see what else would go down. While I waited, I decided to pay closer attention to those who were complaining... what had them so upset? Then, I watched the rolling TV announcements on the wall and noticed that they warned about the insurance paperwork everyone would need. I then went back to my Priceline reservation on my phone email and noticed what I hadn't noticed before, and that was the paperwork (declaration page on my insurance contract) I would need once I got to the rental counter. So, while I waited, I started scrolling through my own insurance app and pulled up the needed paperwork. When my turn came around, I was greeted, but the woman was clearly tense from the previous exchanges. I looked at her and said, "Are you OK?" She visibly relaxed, nodded, smiled, and we started the car rental exchange. And she helped me with the car insurance paperwork on my phone and used it to take images of the needed pages. Everything went smoothly, and we even laughed about a few things. I then had to go outside with one of the outdoor workers to look at the car and review it for any dings, scratches, etc. The young man who helped me looked exhausted. I stopped, looked at him, and said, "Hey, are you doing OK? Is it like this all the time here?" He indicated that he struggled working there, and could certainly never be behind the counters like those getting yelled at all the time. But then he still had to deal with angry people... but they usually weren't mad at him. So, I said to him, "Well, let's try to make this process a bit better than your earlier ones." He smiled and was suddenly relaxed, and he helped me through the rest of the process. To sum up this experience: I watched 5 absolutely angry customers before it was my turn. It is clear this company is dysfunctional as they are not choosing to fix their problems. The complaints I read about on this page stem back far too long for any management team to not correct the issues that plague them. That is completely unacceptable. One thing that occurred to me as I drove away in my "Premier Level" Toyota Camry was that the angry customers are partly to blame. Not because of our rudeness, but because we fell for the attractive lure of prices that were less than half of other companies and expected the same kind of quality of that little-known company as the more known ones. We need to stop falling for the "too-good-to-be-true" offers and own that we are trying to get something that really isn't realistic. I gave this company 3 stars because I actually had an OK experience. The woman and young man who helped me were kind and did well. But the company itself is in desperate need of review. There is something wrong with any company that is knowingly deceptive. They might argue and say they're not, but if that were true, then they would correct the things that are clearly happening over and over and over. I saw it in 4 of the 5 customers I watched. They could fix that by becoming more user-friendly and help customers understand things more clearly before they pay. So, zero stars for the company. I think that's everything. Hopefully, this helps someone.

DONT RENT FROM HERE YOU WILL BE SORRY. IT WAS TGE WORST TRAVEL EXPERIENCE IVE EVERY HAD IN YEARS OF TRAVELING. THE PLACE IS A TOTAL SCAM. WAITRD FOR HOURS TO BE TURNED AWAY DUE TO INSURANCE FROM MY STATE TGEY DID NOT EXCEPT IT. ALMOST EVERY CUSTOMER INCLUDING MY FAMILY AND I LEFT DISTRAUGHT. WE WERE STRANDED WITH NO TRANSPORTATION AS DARKNESS ROLLED IN. WE HAD TO UBER BACK TO THE AIRPORT BECAUSE THE SITE IS NOT AT THE AIRPORT AS STATED WHEN BOOKING. I BOOKED THRU A THIRD PARTY IE.. PRICELINE. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. I HOPE THIS REVIEW WILL HELP SOMEONE IN THE FUTURE FROM THIS COMPANY AS MY FAMILY AND NEARLY EVERY CUSTOMER THAT WAS AT THIS RUN DOWN SCAM BUSINESS HAD EXPERIENCED. AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL !!!!! THE STAFF WAS EXTREMELY RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL. do not do not do not rent a car or accept York rental car through third-party billing services. I learned the hard way through car 8 rental , which I’ve always had great luck in the past!!our experience was with York rental Fort Lauderdale although our reservation through car 8 rental company said that York was on airport site which it was not. They did have a shuttle bus at the Fort Lauderdale rental car terminal and we took maybe a 10 or 15 minute ride to a warehouse look like in a ghetto neighborhood of the city. worst worst. Worst experience of my life waited over an hour and never even got to the line and I was number four in line when I arrived when we left hour and a half later, there was at least 20 people behind me. I already had prepaid through the booking, car 8 rental agency, so paid in advance and noticed all of the people who made it to the car center were forced to increase their insurance coverage and put $750 or up to $1250 on a credit card because their deductible was not high enough. The managers were arguing with the customers , it was the worst experience of my life. It’s an absolute scam. They should be investigated for fraud. They cannot continue to do business this way. I was just afraid that if I put a security deposit on my credit card that I would never never never see a refund again because they would say I scratched it or had a dent or something and all of that would’ve been contested , my wife and I took a shuttle back to the rental car place made a deal with enterprise and then I called the booking agency car 8 rental and they refunded me my prepaid booking for the rental car at York. Horrible, horrible, horrible experience. I hope the feds read this, and somebody works in investigation , no one should ever ever ever use your rental. Actually when we got into the York rental building, there was six or eight other rental car names that they had at that same building with the same scam for increased insurance cost to rent their cars I’ve rented cars, my whole life, and I’ve always denied the coverage knowing my insurance company had a high level of liability and I was covered through , my insurance company, I had all of my deck pages at State Farm insurance, but none of that seem to matter to any of those people that were in line in front of us. Terrible experience nobody should have to go through it !!
