DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM RENTAL COMPANY. I prepaid a rental for my stay in Mexico at the Cancun airport. The instructions were clear as to where I would be met by the shuttle. I waited there for 2 hours having called every number they listed. One of the numbers had been disconnected. The other number went to a voice mail that was never answered as I did not hear back for them at any time during my 2 month stay. When it became apparent that no one was coming, and that this company may not even exist, I walked back into the airport and rented a car from Avis. Having returned to Toronto I tried to contact them at the number they've provided and it went to a voice mail that was full. Don't waste your time or money with this company. As we speak I am on the phone with the bank who issued my US credit card that I put the pre-payment on. Hopefully they can reverse this charge, and if not I will sue them in small claims court

The worst customer service

The worst customer service, I rented a car from this company was robbed broken window and charged me a 3000 dollar deductible. They are a lying cheating company don't rent from them beware.

Please if someone else was scanned by this company York car rental in Toronto, charged a crazy amount please contact me jennycruz1778 @ gmail.com so we can collect data an sue this company is scanning a lot of people , we need to stop them asap and prove they’re scans. Please please please share this information to find more victims of fraud

Worst car rental ever

My partner and I had a terrible experience with York Car Rental in Cancun, Mexico. In the afternoon on Dec 24th we arrived at Cancun Airport. No one was waiting to pick us up as per our reservation. We called all 3 phone numbers, provided in the voucher, but no one answered. Later we took a taxi to their office only to find that they are not there and no one has heard of them either. Very disappointing experience and not a great way to start your holiday.

UNFAIR PRACTICES

I booked an eight seater rental car from YORK CAR RENTAL NW33rd avenue, Miami. All fees were paid on Priceline. When I got there on December 23rd with my family, which included two young children and my mother I was told that I had to pay a $2500USD deposit's which would take at least two months, the CSR JORGE (that is what he said his name was) stressed on at LEAST TWO MONTHS to be refunded. It appeared that he didn’t want me to take the eight seater because he kept repeating that he could get $350USD a day for that vehicle when I only paid less than $185USD a day.However, he could offer me a seven seater for the same price that I paid for the eight seater.He claimed that he was doing me a favour and would reduce the deposit to $1000USD.I agreed after looking at my family suffer outside in the cold.I paid the toll charges and he stated that I had a mandatory insurance to take with his company. I had already paid for the insurance on Priceline but I agreed to it as well because he said that he would reduce the deposit to $500.00USD.My car was swiped for almost $1000.00.Mind you he tried to charge me for 7days when the period was only 6days for both insurance and tolls. When my sister pointed this out to him he got upset.I then told him that I had insurance with my credit card company. He said that I had to prove that the payment on Priceline was made with my credit card. I did, I showed him my receipt and he said that I must take his insurance and he happily pointed out that he had already taken out the payment. When I told him that I was going to call my credit card company he got angry and cancelled my reservation.I asked to speak to the manager, he said that the manager would be back in 30 minutes. After an hour and a half no manager.At that time my family had been traveling for almost 24hours. I went back to the attendant andI asked him to reverse the charges and he gave me a piece of paper stating that I had a favorable balance of $493.71. He said that the reversal would be made on the credit card. I asked about the $500.00 deposit, he said that it was just a hold and would be reversed in a couple of hours. After 24 hours no reversal, I drove from Weston back to Miami and this time I spoke with Gianpaolo who was very kind and apologetic. He called his manager and assured me once again that the charges would be reversed. It has been more that 24 hours and no charges have been reversed. It is December 25th 2023 and I am out $993.71 plus the cost of renting another vehicle and wasting two of my family’s vacation days in Florida.

Disgraceful, Thieving Car Rental

Disgraceful, there’s no other way to describe this company other than a thief. We had reserved a mid-sized car three weeks ahead of the pickup date. When we arrived, the scene was telling: a huge line, people complaining about how the company was a scam, and an empty parking lot. After waiting in line for four hours, we were told that our car was no longer there because we were late (we arrived a half hour early, and only missed it because we waited in that line for four dang hours!!! But try explaining that to someone looking to scam you). We were given an ultimatum: upgrade for $300 more or walk away with no refund. We couldn’t get a refund because we “arrived late”. We never got a refund from these thieves. It’s clear that the thing they’re good at is charging you for cars, and then conceiving every possible excuse not to give you said cars and, most dang important, to keep your money. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. THEYRE THIEVES. 0/5 STARS. DISGRACEFUL.

Absolute scam. Employee confirmed it is a scam.

We were in line on time. Then, after we waited in line OVER 3 hours, we were told id we were 2 hours late then, our reservation would be canceled No help from Priceline. Could not rent a car anywhere nearby because it was after midnight. The man behind the counter said it was a scam, also. We have it all recorded.

i just wanted to let anyone know that…

Ijust wanted to let anyone know that whomever rents a car from your company it’s a total scam. I rented my car through priceline and called york directly to tell them my flight was delayed and i spoke to Andrew Castor who told me not to worry I would get the car . When my son went to pickup the car later that day. He waited there for a few hours only to be told his reservation was cancelled and he’d have to pay double if he wanted a car When we asked to talk to the manager he claimed the reservation was cancelled NOT TRUE!!! then of course I called price line the company I rented from who told me the reservation wasn’t cancelled and they would escalate my case. They literally tired to scam me into paying double of what I had already paid and lied about my reservation being cancelled. I’m so so disappointed and frustrated by the feeling of having completely been scammed into falling into the trap of this lying rental and unethical company. Nobody nobody prepay or use them !! The experience was awful. I’m a 61 yrs old that has never written a bad review in my life. I have rented from numerous rental companies they have always been accommodating and correct. I have never witnessed such blatant manipulation they thought my son would have no other choice but to rent their car for double the price and lose his initial payment which was the full amount of the car rental. IT DIDN’T WORK !!! They thought he was stick there and wouldn’t have a choice !!! My son walked out without a car waisted numerous hours and had to uber home. their name is more important then them trying to make a few more bucks. shame !!!!

No refund after they told me so

It was nowhere written that you just can drive within florida. So I canceled the trip after I paid for it. So they told me to give my money back.I never got it back and they not answer on mails and calls.
