I wanted to hire a handyman for a full day or two full days to do a punch list of low skilled jobs. No one would quote a rate for the day or hour. Everyone wanted me to send pictures or come see the job. This is very time consuming and not necessary for handyman work.
The one company I agreed to come look never showed. Angi Co called me to help. That was nice. However, the company they recommended could only do one task of wall patching and for that wanted $650 day/$80 an hour. Way above the pay rate for unskilled labor.
I have since read Angi charges these workers a lot of money to be on Angi and they don't always get hired when they pay for a lead. I am sorry for them.
I since asked neighbors for a referral.
You can probably find the labor you need but be prepared to pay a much hire rate than is acceptable.

I was looking for a contractor to replace my door jam with a new one, strong enough to hold my front door and a storm door. That's it. Just a new door jam. So, after answering numerous questions and filling out my personal information, I was given a confirmation e-mail. Location, date, time and the price. I was also e-mailed a picture and the name of the contractor that would be doing the job. Prior to the date for the job, I was inundated with numerous reminders of my upcoming appointment.
The day of my appointment; I am ready! I wait and wait and wait. When my contractor is 35 minutes late, I call Angie to see if he has been in a car accident. Why else would he not be here? I am put on hold. "Oh, Christopher T. has just, right now, called in. He is very sick and can not make it. He is taking his medicine right now. Let us reschedule for another day."
For a business to send me 18 reminders, it seems awfully odd that I would not have been notified of a cancelation prior to me calling them. And to tell me he is taking his medicine right now?....Really?
I will never do any business with Angi.

We set this appointment through Wayfair a week ago and received a reminder for the appointment two days ago. My husband and I spent the day of the appointment dissembling and removing the old furniture and clearing a space for the installation person to work, only to receive a cancellation by email 30 minutes before the appointment, We planned our day around this appointment and packed up the items that will go in the new sideboard expecting that we will be able to unpack and have access to them them later this evening. Now we have to maneuver around the boxes an additional five days, if they show up then. How are you just discovering 30 minutes before the appointment that you don't have anyone to do the job? Complete waste of my day off work.

I was bombarded by tons of contractors calling, texting, emailing me all day. These contractors call & Text 7,8,9 times a day even after I respond telling them I will contact them when I am ready to make a decision. I am contacted by contractors I didn’t even pick or see on Angi list. I provided tons of info for the job quote when I started the project with Angi list expecting quotes. But NO, every one of these guys want a phone call meeting & an in person meeting. Like you have to hold their hands. You end up asking for 3-4 quotes & spend 3-4 hours walking them through it before you get a quote. I get 5 or 6 phone calls a day from a few of the contractors, not too mention texts & I am so pissed that I will not be using any of their services & I will never use Angi bleep list again.

The Biggest Scam I've Encountered

This is the biggest scam I've ever dealt with. As a small business owner who signed up for a service to receive leads, my experience has been frustrating. Despite my persistent efforts to contact potential clients, I received no responses. After a month of no success, I reached out to the support team to explain my situation and express my desire to cancel, as their services were not beneficial for my business. They informed me of a past due balance that needed to be settled before I could cancel. After paying the overdue amount of $665.00, I was then told it would cost an additional $2327.50 to cancel. It's clear why there are numerous class action lawsuits against them and many complaints about misleading practices towards small businesses like mine. I have joined the class action lawsuit and reported this service to the appropriate authorities. Please avoid falling for their scam, and if you have already been affected, report them to the relevant agencies to help protect others.

My initial experience with the service was disappointing...

My initial experience with the service involved purchasing a $90 "wall-mount" option to attach the base of a new 65" TV and simply place it on a table. I ordered this service on Thursday, Jan 8, and it was scheduled for Saturday, Jan 10 at 5 PM. However, the service professional rescheduled THREE TIMES on Jan 10—5 PM, then 7 PM, and finally 8:45 PM—with no one showing up. The service canceled but sent an auto-generated email as if I had initiated the cancellation. They stated I wouldn’t be charged for it, which was amusing. They then rescheduled for Tuesday, Jan 13 at 5 PM, but canceled last minute again. The next reschedule was for Thursday, Jan 15 at 4 PM, and once more, they canceled last minute. They rescheduled again for Saturday, Jan 17 at 10 AM, indicating they were still looking for a professional. At this point, I doubt it will happen and am seeking someone local instead. I appreciate not being charged for their five reschedulings, but it feels like they consider it a favor. I expected some compensation for the lost time waiting for services I had paid for. BE AWARE OF THIS SERVICE. I will NEVER use them again.
