On February 13 I was sure to miss my connection in Lyon, towards Montpelllier, I had already cancelled the connection.
When we arrived, the coach was still there AND the driver, only speaking Spanish, was flexible enough to let me get on the bus - oh what a relief after 13hrs of travelling and still having 4hrs more to go - and client service in the Netherlands were very friendly and flexible to sort out the financial / administrative side of the cancelled ticket I travelled with.
This company is about people and service, a long way from distant airline hostesses that so often propose preprepared lines about what is not possible ......

I had an awful experience with BlaBlaCar on a round trip between The Hague and Paris.

Outbound (The Hague → Paris):
• The bus was late.
• My seat wouldn’t stay upright it kept collapsing backward so I couldn’t sit properly.
• The charging ports didn’t work the entire trip, which is unacceptable on a long journey.

Return (Paris → Netherlands, transfer in Brussels):
This is where it turned into a nightmare. Bus was late again The driver told us we had 45 minutes, and the app also showed 45 minutes until departure. We went to the nearby station to grab food and came back about 20 minutes later… and the bus was gone.

It left early, despite what both the driver and the app said. We weren’t the only ones other passengers were also waiting and got stranded.

The worst part: our luggage had already been checked in, meaning our suitcases were on the bus when it left without us. We then had to travel across countries just to recover our own bags (Antwerp → Amsterdam), wasting time, money, and causing huge stress.

Customer service is basically nonexistent. There’s no proper phone support just an AI chat and email. And via email, staff couldn’t even contact the driver or solve anything. We were left stranded and had to figure everything out ourselves.

Bottom line: late bus, broken seat, no charging, a bus leaving early and taking passengers’ luggage, and no real support. I strongly recommend not booking with BlaBlaCar.

Extremely disappointing experience with the bus service

I reached 4–5 minutes prior to the scheduled departure of my bus from Paris to London. The bus was present with its doors closed, and the driver was inside, so I waited for him to let us in. Instead, the bus began to move, and despite my attempts to get the driver's attention, he ignored me and drove away, leaving me stranded. I quickly reached out to the support team, but after around 15 minutes of being passed around to various representatives, I was told it wasn't deemed an emergency and to call back later. Eventually, I was informed that since the bus departed on time, it was my fault for being “late,” despite arriving before the scheduled departure. Another passenger faced the same issue, and we both watched helplessly as the bus left. Consequently, I was left alone in an unfamiliar country, late at night, with no help or resolution provided. This was by far the worst travel experience I've encountered.

I was just taken advantage of by a driver after my bus was cancelled in London at 23:59. There’s no live chat or phone support available. This service should be reviewed by the relevant authorities for a thorough investigation. Now I'm waiting for a refund, and they mentioned the driver has 6 days to respond—why such a long wait? I need my refund immediately!

Once good, now completely ineffective

It used to be reliable, but now it’s just corporate nonsense. They eagerly collect your personal information without ensuring security. They've stopped accepting cash payments. They can suspend your account without any explanation, and good luck retrieving your money as a driver. Plus, the fees they charge are outrageous, especially considering the support you get is just automated responses. They’ve become ineffective. Another company that, due to its own policies and greed, is bound to fail in a few years. STAY AWAY.

The worst bus service I've encountered

This is the worst bus service ever. Our driver was very late, rude, and aggressive, driving recklessly. He almost left us behind at a stop, making us sprint through the snow while he watched from behind closed doors. Unbelievable. The power and Wi-Fi didn’t work either. All they could offer was a refund of a few euros for the ticket. Their poor online reputation is well deserved.

Departure delayed by 1.5 hours

The bus departure was pushed back by 1.5 hours just 4 days before the trip, and when I needed to cancel, I was only offered a voucher worth 40% of the ticket price. It's not my fault that you had to change your travel plans.

BlaBlaCar was once perfect for me

BlaBlaCar used to work perfectly for me. After ten years, I decided to try it again. Two requests were declined—one without explanation and the other because the ride was supposedly full, even though it still shows as available. I booked a bus instead. That was the end of my experience with BlaBlaCar.

App shows incorrect delay information

I had a bus scheduled for 13:34. The app indicated a 20-minute delay, stating it would arrive at 13:48 and depart at 13:58. I received an email saying it would arrive between 12:59 and 13:04. I misread it and thought it would leave at 13:04. I arrived late for 13:34 but early for 12:48 or 12:58, and the bus had already left. I tracked it on the app, which said it departed at 13:14. There’s no phone number on the app, and my message went unanswered. I found a customer service number in Germany, and they told me to trust the email I received, not the app. They dismissed my concerns about the app’s accuracy. If I ever use this service again, I’ll be sure to challenge and reclaim my money.
