My patio has been leaking since install Nov 2020. Almost 2 years later I am still fighting with their insurance company and my patio is still leaking. No one has reached out to me from Champion to fix the problem and when I call no one calls back. To my understanding they have had several contractors for this location because they are clearly not doing a good job. Their insurance provider, Liberty Mutual doesn't answer calls or voicemails and goes months without reponding. This is probably the worst customer service I've ever encountered. Even today 3 June 2022 my patio is still leaking and my furniture has water damage.Genia Taylor-Eliou
The salesman j Calhoun was very family-friendly and understanding of our situation. He helped us see different options and answered all of our questions. And even though we have slightly bad credit we were able to be financed by one of their groups they partner with. Which normally we don't do but on a house over 100years old this is a need we can't save up for quickly. Can't wait for the windows!
Absolutely do not recommend. They gave an 8-10 week timeframe and then completely ghosted me. I called and emailed multiple people for months. When I finally got on the schedule 12 weeks out, they came and realized they measured my sliding door wrong and had the wrong type of door—after ripping out my current sliding door which they jammed back into the space and it is now unable to close all of the way or lock. They have no timeframe for when they will receive a door that fits. When I asked if I get any discount or compensation for the loss of time and now having a security issue with my door due solely to their mistakes, I was told that they stand behind their work and these things just happen. Bad business—no pride in service.
Ron Jewett was very professional very knowledgeable about the product very easy to talk to. The window product seemed very great but not affordable it was very high price that is the only reason that we would not go with them is because the price was too high other than that the salesman and the presentation and the product seem to be very well.
My project with Champion has become a nightmare. In a nutshell, read every letter of your contract and absolutely do not trust your salesperson. I feel I was fast talked into signing and later trapped even deeper in a bad deal by a lying salesman. Now I’m stuck in a contract that does not include a sliding door like it was supposed to. I’ve called customer service twice. They’ve left messages with the office manager to call, and nobody has.So, what happened to me was we went thru and measured everything went thru design choices, including the sliding door and he went over the usual sales pitch that takes forever with the demo window like the other companies before. After all this he started putting out price points. His first was way too high and out of my budget. We finally got to a price I felt was fair. He was on the pushy side and was trying to get this portion of the process done quickly. He wanted to shake hands before filling out the paperwork. I asked if this was the final price and that it would cover everything. No extra charges etc. and he said yes. Well, it didn’t the sliding door wasn’t included in the price. I think he knew this cause if he added the door, it would have pushed the project price up another 20% and I couldn’t afford it. He never showed me any paperwork from this point forward about any sliding door. Never brought it up again. I assumed that it was included like the 4 quotes I had received before this from other companies. So, 4 days later a guy shows up to do a final measurement. We go over what is getting measured, and he says there is no sliding door. Note the 4 days, because you have 3 days to cancel. On day 4 you owe 5% to back out. After a call and a text to my salesperson stating I’m not going to let him measure anything until this is resolved, he then calls me. Says to just let him measure and we’ll get this figured out and it will be okay. I trusted him but also in the contract if they measure then you now owe 30% if you cancel. He knew this. I was emotional and couldn’t budget more money. I just trusted that he was going to fix this. Instead, he gave me an offer for a sliding door that increased the total project cost by 20%. I can’t afford that so now I’m stuck in a bad deal and no sliding door. Let this be fair warning to anyone out there. My salesperson absolutely did not care at all about my predicament. He got his paycheck and was on to the next person.
My Champion windows and patio door is..finally installed. I am very impressed with the quality and workmanship that Champion has provided for my home. It's a great improvement both visually and also the quietness is very noticeable Thanks Champion and James Burts thanks for doing the math and getting my project started.
We were 10 months from when we placed our deposit for two doors to when we actually had them installed. During this time, we tried contacting Champion many times to get an update on when our doors might be ready for installation. We got literally zero response. My salesperson also tried to get a response from the manufacturing department as well. He also got zero response. We finally did get these doors installed. We are quite happy with the door's quality. We asked for some specifics for our doors and the doors were constructed to our specifications. We were also quite happy with our salesperson and with the install team. So, in summary: great doors (5 out of 5); terrible in-process communication (0 out of 5). If they could solve this communication problem, they would return to being the great company that we have dealt with in the past.
Final Update.Overall timeline was: Feb 18 2022 - Sept 6 2022 (28 weeks)Project scope: 4 season porch windows (6) and sliding door (1)Pros:+ The install team that came today was AMAZING (Sep 6)+ The rep from corporate that they had come out to resolve things was great as wellNeutral:~ Sales team was really nice BUT they don't leave until you leave a review (so IGNORE all the reviews where they only met with the sales team since it seems like most people never update it)~ Windows and doors seem fine but we've had our other ones done with a competitor (Wellington) for the rest of the house and they don't seem any greater quality. We'll see how they hold up in the winter but for the price they ask I'd say it is a neutral for now. If they turn out amazing I'll update.Cons:- The 1st install visit where Champion's contractor told them they could install the windows but it might take longer and Champion decided NOT to without talking to us- The communication in general was messy- How much they tried to push us to either cancel and let them keep 30% or reorder even though it would take another 12-16 weeks- Measurements were apparently off that they do- They made it clear they don't feel obligated to stay within the contracted time estimate at allOverall I'd never do business with them again. We met with them in Feb of 2022 and put 1/2 down on the project after getting it in writing that the estimated install date would be end of May or start of June 2022. As the date got closer we reached out for them on updates. As we got closer to May we contacted them to schedule the install, apparently they had the windows but couldn't yet? We don't know. The guy you call for that wouldn't answer text or answer voicemail. So then we had to keep contacting them until the guy called us from a completely different number to schedule. The last day of June the 1st installer showed up. He didn't bother unloading anything and his buddy never got out of the truck because he said he was going to remeasure everything. Turns out apparently the guy they sent to do the measurements wasn't he most accurate and things were off. The installer shared that with us which is why he didn't bother unloading until checking. This installer said he could still install them or we could reorder. We said we want to install still, especially when we were told the windows were just slightly off and might otherwise be thrown away. Champion decided we'd reorder. So we called Champion to try to talk to someone. They had the 1st installer try to force us to agree to a reorder or to sign a cancellation contract that would let them keep 30%. We tried talking to other staff, we got lied to that the reorder would only take 4-6 weeks and we didn't believe it since it took 12-16 to get them originally (we later found out from another employee at Champion that 12-16 weeks would indeed be the soonest we'd get them). Eventually someone else at corporate was assigned to help and they flew him out to MN. He checked the measurements of the windows and of the openings and decided they could be installed. He also noticed trim hadn't been ordered for a piece and placed an order so it could all be installed. He is the one who had to contact them after the piece was done and told them to schedule the install. We agreed to the first opening for an install. The install that time actually happened and went great. The 2 man crew had NO issues installing them and did it all between ~7:20am and noon the same day.Don't make the same mistake we did we went just off google reviews. Check out their BBB and Yelp reviews though too.Services: General door installation, Glass installation, General window replacement
