Had a visit from Adrian Goulding at Connells to provide a valuation on our house for a remortgage. He was punctual and let me know in advance that he was 20min away. When he arrived he was pleasant, polite and explained exactly what he would be doing.His valuation was spot on with ours so very pleased with how Connells dealt with us from start to finish (had a couple of cancellations from our end and everyone we spoke to was very polite and understanding).
4 stars is only because I didn’t directly deal with Connells as it was done through my lender, so unsure how they were in person. I was so worried based on the reviews that they would down value the property I want to purchase compared to home report valuation. There were no issues and the valuation came back very quickly and matched what the home report said. I am in Scotland so this review is probably better suited if you are the same as we already have home reports. Try not to worry as I did! And if you’re in England, try and get a home report before you make your offer to avoid disappointment.
I wish I could give 0 stars!!This place is a scam. They valued my house £15k less than the asking. I sold my house within 4 days with 4 offers at the price of £145kI had 4 estate agents round that valued it at £145,000-£150,000 but this scam of a company said its worth £130! That's 20k diffence off the top valuation.I had to put my house back on the market as my buyer couldn't get the mortgage!!! SCAMMERS!!
This company is not worth any stars! This is the first and hopefully the last time I ever have to deal with this shambles of company. I had the unfortunate pleasure of having Georgia Nicklin from their Leeds location come and do a valuation on my property for a remortgage.She caused unnecessary problems for my remortgage process. She lied on the report saying I had mentioned mushrooms growing in a room and said the property might have dry rot from what I had said apparently. Furthermore, the report stated that there was no evidence of damp or dry rot found during her inspection, contradicting the information provided in the valuation report. I put a formal complaint in with the lender and in the end they disregarded Connell’s claim and I was able to remortgage my property.You keep mentioning you are RICS regulated in every reply to negative feedback, but didn’t your estate agent part of the business recently get investigated for dubious sales tactics by BBC PANORAMA? If you didn’t know this already, you’re welcome! As a whole you are a joke of a company and can’t be trusted. Your bad reviews speak volumes!I have reported you to RICS and anyone reading this should do so too!
If I could give zero rating I would. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. Theyve charged me around £700 for a survey which says there is SERIOUS STRUCTURAL MOVEMENT as well as other defects at the property I am wanting to buy. They then unsurprisingly attach their mate companies details who unsurprisingly again, provide surveys for all the reports Connells state need doing. I have been chasing for 10 DAYS to simply ask WHERE the SERIOUS STRUCTURAL MOVEMENT IS and they have fobbed me off for 10 days saying refer to the report (which doesnt say) and telling me to spend hundreds on surveys I dont need. UNPROFESSIONAL and a bunch of timewasters who are only interested in taking your money. DO NOT USE!!!!UPDATE11.5.2025 Apparently Connells are in direct communication with me & can’t comment on the appalling service they gave me. Still not responded to my question asking WHERE the serious structural movement is.
Similar experience to all other reviews.The sale of our property just nearly fell through due to a Connells survey. Survey marked nearly everything as red, there was serious damp problems (but no pictures or details as to where), roof needed totally redoing (after we had the membrane replaced last year), and spent most of the report talking about an outside cosmetic wall around the front garden (but again no pictures and did not make this clear!!!)Luckily after we pushed back our buyers had a trusted builder come round to check, who had confirmed the report is actually just lies.4 photos in the total report, and the surveyor turned up saying how tired he was as he’d only landed in the early hours and hadn’t even had time to do any research into the property. I could not believe the lies in the report.
We were offered this company by the lender and we thought ofc it comes reccommended if the bank included these guys to do survey for the properties they are lending for yeah. Now 6 months ahead from my Level 2 Survey & Valuation service, I find out loads of problems with the roof of my new house that wasn't spotted at all although access is as ridiculous as starting at the loft window. They ignored obvious signs of tiles breaking and lead missing. Now I'm having to spend 2k on a roof I purchased 6 months ago. DONT USE THIS COMPANY. Should have checked here before
Connels de-evaluated 2 of my properties with over 20% , one about 2 years ago and one this year. While other RICS surveyors evaluate at the market price my homes, Connels de-evaluate. I have a Court case opened against them for negligence. I recommend you if you have a survey booked with Connels to ask for an alternative surveyor or lender.My understanding is that Connels have a deal with the banks to specifically de-evaluate houses.And regardless their misleading comment bellow, while I clearly stated that other RICS Surveyors the same as Connels, evaluated with the correct market price my homes, while this low-lifers devaluate, Connels seems to be a bunch of incompetents and low lifers.Also, for one of their surveyor, I need to call the police as was very abusive and violent against myself and my wife when he arrived. The police is looking for Connels surveyor from W5 4 Postcode, anyone who know him, please get in touch, to get the police to arrest him.
