Leeds go to car hire

Nizam and Adam both really nice guys.Pickup and drop off from the airport was great about 5 min journey time. Car was excellent and fuel efficient, the holding deposit was returned in full and the over all cost of car hire was reasonable 5 stars and keep up the great Work 👍

There's a pattern to their scam

There's a pattern when reading back these reviews. It seems as though their business model it making you wait to check-in until your car is no longer available, and then charging you extra for "the only car we have left". I've been back and forth for three months to try and claim the additional expense back and they keep throwing out lies in order to get rid of me. Now refusing to respond any further. When we arrived at the desk we had to wait 45 mins to be checked in. Told that if we were more than an hour late then they give away the car (we wouldn't have been more than an hour late had they let us check-in when we arrived). The man was very rude, claimed it was all clearly in their terms and conditions. We asked him to show us, and he couldn't find it in the booking confirmation details. So just pay more money or be stranded in an unfamiliar country.

Seamless service from start to finish. All done in 30 min. I booked on line via a comparison engine but if you search Drivalia you might save some money. Excellent customer service by Tony. Car is as I exoected. I recommend this company.

They will make you buy their full insurance..

I’ve used Drivalia a few times but this will be the last. On pick up the agent said my UAE license expires soon (a month after the rental period) and I would need to take out their full insurance, even though I had full coverage with the third party website. He basically held me ransom for £400 even though I mentioned I’m here for my father’s funeral. He said I could check on the Drivalia website and it would say the same, it doesn’t, so I called the customer service and they confirmed it isn’t true, he basically lied to me. However they can’t refund me and refuse to provide written proof of the reason I needed to take their full insurance which Discover Cars requires. Avoid these guys, they lure you in with cheaper prices and sting you with their insurance charges. Pay a bit more and use one of the reputable agencies. Update: Drivalia customer service contacted me and confirmed that the agent misinformed me, there is no rule regarding the expiry of driving licenses, so I have been forced into buying the full insurance unethically. I appreciate them following up and I hope they investigate this internally. Unfortunately I can’t get refunded for either full coverage policy as they’ve already started. The agent name on the rental agreement is Blake.

Will never use this company ever again.

I ended up with Drivalia by booking through Easyjet and they were not great. I've rented cars all over the world - Drivalia are on the bottom of my list. No pickup car at Liverpool Airport designated location. No one answering the 'phone for over 30 minutes. It turned out that there was only 1 member of staff handling pickups, the office, customer returns and everything else. Despite completing online check-in, I still had to provide my documents, IDs, etc. -easier to get into Fort Knox. I eventually left 90mins later than planned with a hybrid Jeep - which had the battery drained to 1%, so no hybrid option as it was only running on the petrol engine the whole time I had it. Clearly driven by staff around the airport to save them fuel. Also, was not aware of the 100 mile/day limit until pickup, which was ludicrous in this day and age. Return again subject to staff dropping you back at the airport and every inch of the car checked. Note that any minor mark is noted on the damage report - other companies have better allowances to not bother the driver with. Its an attempt to keep cars immaculate, which isn't possible. Staff were pleasant enough, but clearly over-worked. Gareth and Paul doing their best.

Not refunding deposit

I returned my car, undamaged and properly fuelled up, on 6 May 2025. I even washed it as it was dirty at pick up on 14 April 2025.As of today, 19 June 2025, I have not had my £1950 deposit bond refunded. I contacted Drivilia on 29 May 2025 and they said “any day now”. Yet still no refund.I am wondering what I need to do now.
