Review Time
1. I was charged for premium insurance as about 300 GBP even I asked not to… as I have my insurance…so was said at the desk the total price includes the deposit(not true), dishonest action of the guy at the Luton airport desk.2. The car was not so clean even outside when I received it. 3. The tank wasn’t full when, only as about 80% of it when I received it, was asked for full tank when return4. Tried to reach the Luton branch with no one answering at all for many times, even through your cs that tried to transfer me to them, not speaking when the battery died at the first day and the Europecar app direct me to the branch in any assistant, nobody answer…Nobody at the cs answered my emails till now(2 months) and I confirmed that I sent to the right address.I travel a lot but first time with Europcar ( and last).
The van fleet at dartford seem barely road worthy - every panel in each van is dented, they are handed over without being cleaned, i have rented 2 vans and both have had problems ranging from tyres that deflate, doors that wont lock but more over they are charging for insurance in case of damage but not repairing any damage before handing to the next custoimer. they will then try and charge you for the existing damage - go elsewhere to a more reputable company, this is back street dartford at its finest...rubbish vans and backroom staff that clearly are'nt treated well enough to care for thier fleet.
Still waiting for a resolution to our complaint from earlier . Europcar asked us to contact them , which we did , and they still haven't got back to us a month later .I would advise any body thinking of using this company, to think again .They have zero customer service, zero communication skills ,and treat customers unfairly.Virtually impossible to contact when abroad , never answers phone , and if you do finally get someone , they are as helpful as a chocolate teapot , and move you on .As you can see from all the revues there are big issues in this company.Gary Smith take note .My advice, if looking for a car rental company, don't use Europcar.
I was hired a vehicle by Volkswagen while my camper van was having warranty repair work carried out at listers Coventry,on collection 28/06/24 the hire vehicle had 520mile diesel range in the tank, and on return it had 520mile range in after putting £94 diesel in !!! , I have now received a email with a bill for £19.61 for diesel , I have the receipt and photos on collection/return of the vehicle range the Volkswagen dealership even checked the vehicle on return,I will never recommend or use this hire company again
They changed the agreed fee of £175 to £752 when I went to collect the car . So I cancelled and the next day I realised that they took £1040 from my account without even telling me. They are now refusing to give my money back until I send them a bank statement. I am refusing to send a bank statement because this is private information and they didn't need it to take the money in the first place. Please stay away from this company, this isn't my first bad experience with them.
I booked my car through booking.com and paid my fee 2 months before arrival to Newquay airport. The booking was confirmed via booking .com 2 days before arrival and the day I arrived I was refused a vehicle with no reasons why. They left me stranded at the airport having to borrow money from family to pay for taxi to st Ives which Is over 1 hr away from Newquay and Cost me £120 one way I made an effort to contact customer service but they don’t have any contact centre to deal with a refusal and that you can only email which I did. 2 days later I get a response giving generic reasons for refusal and that I have to contact the data centre. Since then I have used another car company with no issues. How can a car europ car take your money and not carry out these checks before arrival especially booking so far in advance. DoNot use company you could get refused and left stranded with no vehicle with your family.
Horrendous experience with Europcar. Payments taken ad hoc without explanation, even after I have been to the branch to close the rental and settle the bill further payments taken with customer services unable to tell me what fees are for. Never dealt with such an incompetent company before. If you must use them make sure you've plenty of spare cash in your account as they seem to just help themselves to it when they feel like it.
Booked 7 seater at Bristol. Arriving there they said it was cancelled because of non availability. The funny part was that they could make a new booking for almost triple the price. As a airline employee this is the last time renting there. And will advise every customer in my business not to book there. Its a criminal enterprise.
Car was book way in advance via motobility, 3 times had to phone as I was promised the car in the morning, then at 1pm then eventually came late afternoon. The car was supposed to have been cleaned, but found sweetie wrappers and a dog poop bag holder under the front seat. Suppose to have come with a fill tank, but got 3/4 tank. Damage on the rear bumper which wasnt pointed out to me, so took photos, an error light about rear sensor kept coming on randomly. No problem the two weeks I had the car, until tried to return it, phoned 10am told they would pick up by afternoon, 4pm phoned told would get by 6pm... nope, phone next day AM told would be picked up, late afternoon finally picked up pointed out damage on bumper, guy thought it was me, until told him have photos taken when it was delivered. Also I took photo of when I filled the tank as per requested, just as well as they took £30 from my credit card for fuel!! When I contacted them and told them I had photos showing full tank which was time/date stamp, few days later they refunded my money. Really not happy with the service, mislead about times, took money they were not entitled too, imagine if you didn't check credit card or missed the invoice, how much do they make by charging for fuel when they make a 'mistake' will possibly seriously consider about using them again if needed in the future.‐-------------------------------------------My reply to your reply, not a chance, dealt with your customer services on more than one occasion and they don't care, as long as they get their wage. You think people are stupid with your automatic replies, you say the same on every reply. 2.4 your Trustpilot score, I would be very concerned, you have more 1 star than 5 a huge red flag.
Maidstone branch.returned van, chap had a look round it and said"all is good, sign here" I signed.Later got email saying mirror broken and passenger seat belt broken. NO THEY WERENTsecondly,I produced a receipt to show I'd topped up, they kept receipt and then tried to charge me for it, saying they'd put the fuel in.thieving lying toads
