ABSOLUTELY AWFUL COMPANY. We have had a lot of money automatically taken out of our account, even though it was their fault for not communicating and the contract was arranged through a dealership.We raised an investigation 3 weeks ago and have had no communication or resolution. The customer service team have been unhelpful and pretty much useless, keep telling us to wait for them to contact us but have had absolutely nothing.Would not recommend.
This is beyond a joke. Do not use this business! First off we was charged for an aborted collection with no notification of arrival to pick up the vehicle and second unknown charge. It couldn’t possible be damage or fuel not to max because we did neither and have evidence of both. customer service on the website doesn’t work and you get redirected to call them. There call centre staff can’t help because they work of a script to get you off the phone. Shocking, been over a month and still no idea on how to get my money back. Branch In question is Dartford and I’m owed £186! AVOID AT ALL COST!
Please be careful if you have a courtesy car through Europcar. I filled the car up to 3 clicks fuel on the fuel pump as advised so it was full to the brim for collection, yet they charged me for the fuel the europcar employee used to get from my house to the branch! They refunded me but then charged me again. Customer service is so unhelpful. absolutely awful
I hired electric car in Berlin airport it’s been extremely great 4 days I enjoyed electric car and costumer service is excellent but my deposit £330 pound is should be returned full but they kept £110 pounds I hope they return sooner left money
Terrible service!!No return of my deposit, even following their email stating internal error for returning it. After 5 days of vehicle being returned, I complained about non return of my deposit. I did get a swift email reply apologising and they stated return of my deposit would be made 5-10 working days later.10 working days today….. still no deposit returned.It seems Eurocar can take the deposit immediately but make lengthy delays in returning it….. watch out.
TUI holiday came with car hire from Naples Airport for transfer. I am always designated as driving when we're abroad. As TUI holiday had my wife as lead passenger, Europcar refused to let me drive unless I paid €120 for me as an additional driver, despite my wife receiving no communication to request who the lead driver would be. I mean, there was an assumption that she could drive. To cap it off, they wouldn't accept my credit card and demanded a card in her name be used despite us having joint current current and credit cards. Really ridiculous 'computer says no' grifting from a supposedly large company.To cap our experience off a small scuff on the alloy which we discussed with the Europcar assistant and told would be €140 has suddenly morphed into a withdrawal of £350 from our current account (as the Europcar desk refused to accept a credit card in my name). Complaints in as this is just opportunism by Europcar for a minor repair alloy scuff that will never happen on a Lancia Ypsillion. Not as if it's a Mercedes Benz. All in all Europcar's customer experience has been nothing short of abysmal. So think carefully if with TUI and hiring a car on these sneak charges based on lead passenger rather than designated driver as there is zero communication prior to the holiday to request information on who is going to drive. I have complained to both Europcar and TUI on these sharp practices but won't recommend Europcar or TUI. The latter should send less messages asking how they're doing and more practical communication. The former clearly have no concept about practical and reasonable agile customer service.
If give them no stars if I could. They really are dreadful and abysmal. I had an accident on Thursday was meant to get the curtesy/hire car on Friday at 2pm delayed to 4pm I needed to go to the hospital rearranged for Saturday explained I needed to go out by 2pm assured it would be delivered before 1pm as the office closed at 1pm called them twice on Saturday to ask where the car was as it hadn’t arrived at 11:45 they said they’d call 30mins before at 12:45 I called back was left in a queue. No call no car. Given the stress of an accident you’d expect the replacement car process to be less stressful. Not for these guys terrible customer service, nobody seems to know what they are doing now I’m without a car till at least Tuesday. A simple phone call would have been nice instead of me having to chase them!
My brother hired a car. Unfortunately he became ill and we had to arrange the car to be collected from his Hotel. It took over an hour to actually speak to someone at this company who could comprehend what was required. In order to increase their profit all calls are directed to foreign call center. Even the phone number printed next to the location address of the rental branch has nothing to do with them and is diverted. Terrible customer service all in pursuit of profit.
We had a terrible experience with the Woodford Green Europcar branch on June 21. We pre-paid £89 for two infant seats for our two-month-old twin babies, but when we arrived to collect the car, the seats were nowhere to be found. This left us with a car we couldn't safely travel with as all babies require special infant seats in the UK by law. The company's failure to provide what they offered on their website and what we paid for was unacceptable and caused significant distress. We are currently awaiting a refund for the car seats that were not delivered (for which we have already had to chase this company twice to no avail!) and urge others to be cautious when booking with them. This experience has seriously damaged our trust in their services.
