Bunch of scammers. No way to appeal. Accused me of stealing fuel when I wasn't even at the petrol station that day. They have used a photo from the day before to try and say I owe them £40 or they will block me from buying fuel in future. No way to appeal, phone never picked up, don't answer emails. £40 not worth fighting in the small claims court so just paid to get rid of them.....and they know most will! Shell shame on you for using these scammers!
Filled up my vehicle and bought milk from the petrol station. Received a letter to find out that I had paid for the milk but not for the petrol which I don't know how this happened, but anyways, received a letter from forecourt eye stating that I've not paid for the petrol of which I'm happy to pay for but they've added £35 admin fee on top of my £15 petrol. I had contacted them numerous times of which their responses have been inconsistent and includes typos to let them know that I'm willing to pay for the petrol if that's the case but not the admin fee. A rubbish service, and a thief as they really want that admin fee don't they? Can't wait to go through my claim in court with them, with the evidence I have.
I paid for £20 worth of fuel on my card but subsequently got a letter telling me the payment hadn’t gone through. I was told I had to pay the original £20 ( fair enough) & a £35 admin fee which was grossly unfair.I explained I had used this garage for 35 years with no issues & told them it was an error & asked why the cashier didn’t tell me the payment hadn’t gone through declined ? I received no explanation and was told they don’t consider appeals for admin charges.I feel they have have extorted money from me & have acted in bad faith. John Gregory.
Rip Off. Their payment machines for the business fuel cards were all down at the forecourt (Shell Fradley North) and the lorry driver was were told to pay using an credit card / invoice system. Not only did they charge full price for he fuel (not the discounted rate we are on) but they also charged £35 admin fee because their own system was down! Total rip off. As a consequence they have just lost our business of £350 fuel every night circa £91,350 per annum ...well done.. ! Great customer service Forecourt Eye.
Just received a letter trying to scam me out of money for a fine. I don’t recognise the name to which the letter is addressed, the car, the registration, etc. and I wasn’t in the country or at the location cited. The only thing that was correct was the address — for a property I sold four years ago.
This feels exactly like the parking scams we’ve seen before, and some of the worst offenders are ESSO garages. Their customer service is virtually non-existent. The automated helpline always claims there's a 6-minute wait, only to then ask for your full details: email, phone number, and reference number.Do not hand this over. This is a clear tactic to link your personal information with your vehicle and reference number, potentially to gather more data about you.I’ve stopped using ESSO garages entirely. It’s hard to ignore the feeling that staff are complicit — or at least aware — of what’s happening. The system they’re using, often associated with Forecourt Eye, operates in a regulatory grey area. These private companies aren’t held to the same standards as others. All the garage needs to do is provide a number plate and a printed receipt — and that’s enough to trigger action against you. It’s a shady operation that deserves a serious investigation.
I couldn’t use nought as it only gives 1 star as the lowest option. Had letter today dated 21 May 2025 saying I hadn’t paid for fuel on30 March 2025. Bit strange as I had taken a group of people from my retirement club to Cyprus on 27 March until 6 April and my car was blocked in on my drive by 3 other cars when we all caught the coach at the end of my road. SCAMMERS. I’m ringing local police station in morning when they open.
