Zero stars just like all the other…

Zero stars just like all the other reviews it seems they like to play the blame game! I actually wonder what I’m paying insurance for because it certainly isn’t my outbuildings. I had bad storm damage but of course they made it out to be my own fault apparently I didn’t maintain the building. Even though the area was spotless and very sturdy but the winds were so powerful. Set up a call with an absolutely useless person from farmers union who called me and said she didn’t even have any information on me or anything about my claim and proceeded to ask me questions that she should have already knew. Stay away from them take your money else where because they certainly won’t stand by you. Reading the other reviews the exact same thing has happened to many many people they are just lining their own pockets!!!

Don’t be like me, look elsewhere for home insurance

I chose Halifax (actually Lloyds in a rubber mask) to insure my home. Why? It’s a brand that I associate with my job, my home mortgage… so, I trusted them. I felt like I was keeping my family safe. But I was wrong, and they took advantage of me. Don’t be like me. Hear my story.I had paid my premiums to them for years and felt safe in my home because of it. Then one winter there was a fierce storm. Water started coming in through the windows! I had the usual hassle getting joiners and builders but the verdict was it was going to be expensive, thousands of pounds. I told Halifax and… the tone changed. Every conversation thereafter, they were on autopilot. They knew what I didn’t: my claim would be refused. I knew nothing about insurance really. A man came and looked very quickly at the windows, took around 100 high quality photos, and prepared a report that just said “not storm damage.” Basically, if you have storm damage, the insurers can just claim it was wear and tear and as long as one of their paid men will sign the box, that’s it. Even the ombudsman can’t help (no surprises there, I suppose). They’re there to protect the business not the consumer. The truth is, these knowledgeable people that are supposed to protect us, aren’t protecting us. They’re protecting themselves, and they close ranks and wait for you to go away and die.Bottom like: don’t trust your bank with your home insurance. Get the cheapest deal you can from anywhere, ignore the brand name and reputation, it isn’t worth the paper it’s printed on. Oh, and make sure you get lots of photos of your home BEFORE a storm hits, otherwise they’ll do to you what they did to me.

Can’t give out minus stars

Can’t give out minus stars, if only I read the reviews first. Absolutely dreadful service. 2 hour survey to find issue, couldn’t find fault, took me and my husband ten minutes to find the problem. Still waiting for them to get back to me.

No stars to Halifax

No stars - Do not use Halifax! As a loyal customer for over 20 years they treated me as a criminal when I reported to their Halifax Credit Card Fraud Team today of 2 suspicious transactions - a chip and pin cash transaction of 500 pounds and a cash fee of 25 pounds charged by Halifax. I had never used my Halifax Credit Card to withdraw cash through out my 20 years banking with them. It did occurred to them it was unusual behaviour when my Halifax Current and Saving accounts have sufficient funds. After explaining to Halifax Fraud team for 1 HR 54 mins that I did not make the cash withdrawal from my Halifax Credit Card repeatedly as I was transferred from person to person due to technical issues that they are having with their computers. They refuse to refund me, did not investigate nor look at the ATM CCTV footage and accusing me of lying even though the fraudulent transaction was made in a different location (North London) from where I was (West London) and also they repeatedly advising me to contact the police instead. I logged a complaint with Halifax (ref NC12785416). Out of frustration, I closed all my accounts with Halifax as I no longer trust my money is safe with them and their lack of care towards their customers. In the evening, after speaking to friends and family, I contacted Action Fraud (ref NRFV250507356311) to report the fraud who kindly advised me to call Halifax again with their Action Fraud ref number and if Halifax still refuses to investigate/look at the ATM CCTV footage at Halifax Camden's ATM machine (where the fraudulent transaction took place) and refund me back my financial loss then I should contact the Ombudsman on 0800 023 4567.

Absolutely no stars

Absolutely no stars. Appalling service from the start.I have a blocked drain so called Halifax who were quite unhelpful but arranged for Ansa to call me to arrange for engineers to visit and deal with the problem.A few days later two men arrived, one knowledgeable and competent the other not so much.Blockage located and reported to Halifax. After one month and no information from Halifax I phoned and a few days later two men appeared, the competent one wasn’t there as he had been sacked but his replacement was tired and kept going to his van for a sleep. The other one went for a long walk and had a haircut. They then smashed out a perfectly good gulley and left saying that they would be back tomorrow. The next day two new men arrived and installed a new gulley. The drain remained blocked. Two weeks later sleepy and his mate came and demolished another perfectly good gulley and replaced it with a plastic one.The drain remains blocked, Ansa phone calls end on music on hold for as long as you hold on.Halifax assured me that Ansa would call me, they didn’t. They use subcontractors.

DO NOT USE THEM

Worst insurance company ever. Had an underfloor leak and appointed a loss adjuster. Halifax came out and they decided to appoint Polygon to assess. Polygon advised that there was more work required than assessor had identified. That was the end of March. Mid April a formal complaint was made as nothing from Halifax. Just got a message from Halifax advising it may be June before it is resolved - meanwhile I have a hole in my hall floor and my home needs to be professional dried out… DO NOT USE HALIFAX INSURANCE

Must-Read: Avoid Taking Out Insurance with Halifax/Lloyds Home Insurance

**Must-Read: Avoid Taking Out Insurance with Halifax/Lloyds Home Insurance**Here’s my experience—be careful, everyone! Someone could get hurt with insurance providers that operate like this!Recently, I faced a disaster in my small bathroom at home, where I live with my 12-year-old child. I called Halifax Insurance, and they appointed a company called Polygon to handle the situation. The technician from Polygon assigned to my home who spent 10 precious minutes slating insurance companies, during which he slatted different insurance companies. After that, he took a reading and decided to rip out my vinyl flooring to install an industrial dehumidifier in my bathroom, advising to keep windows closed alongside the heat it produced, which made it nauseating to the point of near passing out. However, Polygon loosely taped the main cable to the wall in my hallway. An hour after the technician left, due to the heat outside and the heat produced by the dehumidifier, the cable had fallen and was lying all over the hallway floor (Trip Hazzard).Halifax then sent an assessor to my home, as I had to book a hotel due to A) the noise of the unit, B) the heat it generated, and C) the fact that I only have one bathroom. The assessor stated that the bathroom was inconvenient but liveable. You can judge for yourself by looking at the images I provided! The assessor falsely claimed that the Polygon technician stated the damp reading was taken from the floor. However, I have a digital record showing that the technician actually took the reading from the wall. Once again, Halifax Insurance has been caught lying in an attempt to avoid properly paying the claim. The assessors advised me when I asked natural questions that they were not a builder, yet they seemed to have all the final answers regarding the necessary bathroom refurbishment. This is very convenient for them.In times of disaster at home, we shouldn’t have to deal with such situations and lies. It’s utterly disgusting. I have been a loyal customer of this insurance company for five years, and this was my first claim. I can confidently say I will never use them again. When disaster strikes, we expect appropriate action to be taken swiftly, not to be left with charlatans handling our major decisions.P.S. They upheld my claim, but after a £500 excess, they offered me only £328. What a ridiculous and disappointing experience! I hope my situation makes you think before taking a policy out with Halifax/ Lloyds Insurance

Had a leak on my central heating and…

Had a leak on my central heating and its caused extensive damage to my quarts tiles and also my engineered oak flooring has all blown on the threshold. I asked for a surveyor or assesser to come out but they told me they don't have surveyors or assessers which was a flat out lie.. finally after 8 weeks they sent a lady out she went around with the moisture meter... then rang me a week later to tell me my claim has been denied... they didn't give me a reason so I have put a complaint in. When I receive my final decision letter I will be contacting the ombudsman.. I have endless pictures an engineer report from a gas safe registered operative who carried out the repair and to top it off i now have cctv of the assesser dropping her moisture meter on my tiles and causing further damage... it's been an awful experience from the start been made to feel like a criminal.. the property was in my parents name but they both unfortunately passed away and they started getting quite sarcastic when I explained that I didn't know who the house was previously insured with... I have no way of knowing ask I can't ask my dead mum and dad... it's honestly got me to the point of despair!!!

Do not use!!!

Absolutely shocking experience with Halifax. We had to source all our emergency repairs ourselves, took 2 weeks from us contacting them with an emergency burst water pipe and flooding inside our home for them to call us back to see how we wanted to move forward with our claim. We won’t be reinsuring with Halifax. Previous experience with Barclays was so much better.

Unfair refusal of policy

Were decline house insurance because of number of claims on my property, that was mortgaged through Halifax, Surveyed and Loan approved by Halifax, and now they refuse as that same property has rain damage to the roof and water pipes that burts, (not our fault). This is after we reported a contractor as being fraudulent in claiming way more than the cost of material they dumped on our drive and left. Tiles for 28 square maters amounting to £11000. Halifax don't seem to mind the contractors over charging them but they do if you make several small claims. Stay away from this insurance they dont care about the client !!!!!
