Waited 25 mins in que for counter service b4 walking out with five people behind me Chichester branch is a joke - managers and off desk staff just ignore ques. I came back today to find the branch is closed for the day. I shall be looking to transfer my business.
I've read most of the reviews and fortunately for me, I had quite the opposite experience...Had my bike stolen last week (along with many personal items) while being parked and locked on a bike stand. Filed the proper police report (which I know is absolutely useless) and then got in touch with Halifax (called them as I wanted to make sure the claim was being raised). Not only the attention received was absolutely excellent, but the speed which took them to resolvethe claim is something I couldn't have imagined. Took them 3 days to send a confirmation letter with the claim being resolved and paid.I usually use this space to rant about how bad things are done in multiple businesses, but gladly today I got to write about something that actually works as expected!
I would give nil stars if I could. Halifax Home Insurance inflated the premium in 2025 so I downgraded from 'silver' to 'bronze' but they nevertheless took the amount of the 'silver' premium from my bank account using my bank details that they had retained without my permission. I am still trying to get them to refund the money they wrongly took. The customer service team are useless and just read out "security" questions from a script but without actually doing any work.
On two separate occasions I have tried to claim on the Halifax home insurance silver policy. Once for pest removal and was told they don't cover those kinds of pests, once for a leak, but they don't cover those kinds of leaks because they are of the opinion it's from wear and tear without so much as someone looking at it. Will probably cancel my policy and go with a new insurer.
Appalling customer service - if you can wait long enough on hold to speak to them (45 mins ) ..never call back when they say they will (waited nearly three weeks for them to call me back after they needed to speak to someone and I ended up calling them to be told that they'd call me back and once again never did) ..meanwhile I have a roof that hasn't been repaired for two months .Hostile and haven't provided any progress reports or evidence of even working on the claim other than a response of acknowledgement to the claim being made.Will be going elsewhere as soon as the claim is sorted. Entire experience has been unhelpful, negative and stressful.
On 28th February, I rang Halifax to ask for legal advice, which I have on my Halifax ultimate home insurance.I was given a number to call Arc legal assistance, who informed me that I would receive a call within 24 hours but received no call.A few days passed, and I rang again. This time call back was within 4 hours, and I was in the appointment diary for a call. Also, I was told customer service would also send an email across to Arc solicitors.Again, I received no call, but customer service said Arc legal assistance tried calling. Sorry, but they haven't called.Still receiving no call from Arc legal assistance.I rang yesterday, 6th February, explained again to customer services, again Arc legal assistance had tried calling, sorry they had not ( attached my call log ), that another email would be sent to Arc solicitors.My Halifax ultimate home insurance policy states I have access to legal assistance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. However, it's certainly not the case.I chose Halifax as they've always been a reputable company and chose this particular policy to have peace of mind. As Arc legal assistance has made no contact in 7 days, I certainly don't hold out much hope of winning a court case being represented by them.Also, I'd like to inform you that you're in breach of the agreement we both entered into. Seems like my policy is not worth the paper it's printed on!!Please dont respond to say you can't find my policy
Doesn't even warrant 1 star.Impossible to speak to anyone. Used chat function and they couldn't see my claim.Told to call the number and line days they are not taking calls and only dealings with emergencies on a priority basis.What do I pay my monthly premium for???
OMG the worst company I have ever dealt with .I can fully relate to the other reviews. This is the first insurance claim I have ever made and it is impossible to speak to anyone, clearly foreign call centre with the most obnoxious response rude people on earth. Rang several times and simpley hung up. I am unable to make a claim as impossible to speak to anyone DO NOT USE!
