Insured, premiums paid, claim refused as they dont actually insure what Ive paid for - BEWARE

Halifax insurance are quite happy to prospect you to insure everything they can under their home insurance however when I made a claim for a trailer theft that they had given me a quotation for and had been taking the premiums for, they informed me that trailers actually weren't insured and they wont pay the claim and instead all they want to do is to return my premiums. I have my bank accounts, deposits, pensions and several investments with Halifax, I am now in process of moving them all. This is awful customer experience and I would advise anyone to stay away, even if they accept your premiums you do NOT have cover. They have one star as I cannot give them zero............

Shame

Unfortunately, after years of loyalty, I’ve been forced to cancel my insurance. My policy auto renewed, but I never received a renewal invite, they said that they posted it, but I never got it, the price has gone up to over £500? I got a like for like quote from another insurer for half the price, but my new policy includes home emergencies which wasn’t covered before,The upsetting thing is that there was no loyalty, I explained that I hadn’t received it but was told sorry, nothing we can do, but I almost feel like they did me a favour because it forced me to look at review and they have a 1.4 rating.. I’ve moved to a 4.5 star rated company, paying half the price for a like for like policy with home emergency included.. Bad job Halifax…

What a rating

What a rating. Halifax have so many hundreds of insulted customers. Time to find new banking facilities, but beware of those in the same group

Lloyds Banking Group.

Ceiling collapsed. Halifax did not send an assessor, I had to pay someone to establish the cause of damage on their behalf. Took ages. Then they refused to accept the claim because ‘the damage was caused by water’. Then I demonstrated it wasn’t. Then they rejected the claim because ‘ the damage was gradual and happened over an extended period ‘ like every ceiling failure since ceilings were invented unless a plane crashed into the house or something. Lloyds Banking Group what are they like?! I never get tired of reading about how they keep being fined for breaking the law (Reading, PPI etc) or about the extra marital affairs of their senior management. Corporate morality is on the floor.

Don’t bother with emergency cover - waste of time and money

Don’t bother - bought emergency cover with the policy. Had a burst pipe, flooding kitchen, all water turned off. Spoke to Allianz (the supplier) promised to call back - no call. Left with no water all evening, overnight and in the morning. Too late by the out I got a text to say they would send a loner sometime the next morning to book a hotel. No water at all (taps, toilet etc) Rubbish, don’t waste your money

Halifax simply break their contract as no legal aid is available.

Claimed previously for structural collapse when wall of flat split. Then subsidence spread to passageway and brick sixedboieces of concrete were falling from overhead. No assistance to be housed while they fitted a canopy. Now my freeholders went bankrupt and I have therefore lost my title. As I see it my private residence was insured which I have now lost as my lease has become invalid. If there is a criminal I juries type lawyer looking at this then a class action against Halifax Insurance would probably be taken up by most on these reviews. I have emailed Nigel Farage to change the Law to provide PARITY for litigants. If Halifax Insurance have £1m to spend on legal fees and you have £1000 that money is added together and split between you for legal fees. This is lawfully precedent - the Lady above the Old Bailey holds scales showing that there should be parity under the law. It also does away with the legal aid system so the government actually save money! Please email Nigel to get justice for yourself.

Please don’t buy insurance from these corrupt liars who don’t return calls

Six months later after they have had Crawfords out ( useless , after BVDS useless as well) they still want to use their own contractors to see if claim is eligible even though it’s proven. This is the group who came out for a burglary at my house and a violent intruder , guess what wrong person wrong house well done Halifax /lloyds Crawfords or whoever you are. I will keep fighting this corrupt group even when they don’t do things legally they argue. Please don’t buy insurance of this group there is a reason they are cheap . It’s because they don’t PAY OUT

I had a burst pipe

I had a burst pipe. Halifax and their partners Neways and Polygon have been the worst example of poor organisation, communication, effectiveness and downright don't care, that I have ever had the misfortune to experience. If I didnt know better, I would say I was on a new reality show called ‘How much can we wind him up before he bursts’. My floors are still dug up after 10 weeks, and I have had no boiler for the last 2 weeks. Thoroughly dreadful experience!
