We ordered replacement shower door wheels seemingly at a good price from My Toilet Spares on Monday. The order was confirmed by email, but then the next day out of the blue we got a refund email, effectively cancelling our order. When I checked their website, they were still showing this item in stock, but the price had increased significantly.

I know exactly what happened. Many spares like this aren't actually kept in stock by such companies, there are too many; when they receive an order they in turn order from the manufacturer, in this case Ideal Standard. Ideal had obviously put the price up, but MTS due to their incompetence hadn't increased the price the item was being sold for on their website.

And so not wanting to make a loss, the uncaring jokers simply cancelled the order! They didn't even send me an email to tell me they were cancelling the order and to apologise; I only knew because their systems had generated the refund email.

I called them, explaining that they had entered into a legal contract with me to sell me these items at an agreed price - and by cancelling my order, they were in breach of contract. Did the idiots care? Of course they couldn't give a toss. They tried to make out that the item was out of stock at Ideal Standard. I already knew from calling the company - sadly Ideal wouldn't sell me the item direct - that a lot of their spares aren't always on the shelf, but they will still happily take orders from suppliers to the public; the item then goes on back order, and they told me is usually then fulfilled in 2-3 weeks time.

I pointed out to the person at MTS that they were still listing the item as in stock (i.e. able to be purchased), they had simply massively increased the price overnight when they discovered their error. He kept trying to argue no, it was out of stock so they couldn't supply me! And while I was on the phone, just to try to get rid of me he 'flicked a switch' so that the item then showed up as out of stock on their website - just to get rid of me (after the call lo and behold, it had been put back in stock again, of course at the higher price).

When this didn't work and I insisted that they were in breach of contract and needed to do something about that, the guy then just hung up on me!

What utter uncaring, greedy clowns - in their eyes they don't have customers, just innocent members of the public they think they can exploit whenever they want to, with impunity!

AVOID THEM LIKE THE PLAGUE would be my advice...

Excellent service.

Excellent service.Spoke to Callum in the sales department who was professional, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the products I needed (Vitra toilet cistern parts).The parts were delivered the following day using Parcelforce/Royal Mail.I will definitely be using MTS again and can recommend them unreservedly.

Helpful, speedy and a no-hassle exchange

This company supplied three toilet flush washers against my order which was based on an internet sourced part number. It was the wrong size of washer.Their Customer Helpline was responsive, the conversation was pretty much in real time. Given the washer dimensions, they quickly identified the correct washer and gave a price, agreed to accept back and refund the mis-ordered washers. The difference in price was pence (in their favour) and as soon as the mis-ordered washers were received back, the correct washers were dispatched (and Royal Mail delivered on time!). They sorted all the paperwork for the exchange, no further admin required from me. My Toilet Spares couldn't have been more helpful and made the exchange very simple. I am happy to strongly recommend them.

Slow Delivery

My Ideal Standard Toilet was leaking and I ordered a replacement QT washer on the Monday morning. The correct part to fix my toilet was surplied but was not delivered until the Saturday 5 days after ordering! Fortunately I ordered the same part from a different company who delivered the part required within 24hrs on the Tuesday meaning I was able to repair my toilet and stop the leak. I am keeping the part surplied by MyToiletSpares as a spare as I have four toilets! I am happy with the part surplied and the price but the delivery was very slow! So if you need a part urgently maybe best to shop elsewhere.

I would have liked to have given this company 5 stars but sadly due to issues I could not. I ordered a toilet seat hinge shown on there website, the exact one I needed. Unfortunately the hinge sent was slightly more expensive and didn’t include the plastic fittings which the one on their website did. I was also sent a pack of parts that I didn’t order and didn’t fit. I did mention this that I would have been 100% happy if the could have sent me the plastic fittings as the main hinge fitted. I was sent a link to purchase them. If they had just sent what they advertised it would have been perfect.Since then the part I was told to get,the plastic sleeves for the hinge I got from someone else- exact same part number and guess what they didn’t fit😂

Buying a replacement mahogany toilet seat.

My experience of buying a replacement toilet seat from My Toilet Spares Ltd was of a swift and easy purchase system. The company were able to assist on the basis of a photo and measurements of existing toilet seat,They provided exactly the model required to replace a Waverley mahogany toilet seat. Delivery was within days of purchase..

My toilet spares were able to tell me what replacement toilet seat I required from a few photos. I paid for the seat it was despatched the following day and received a couple of days later, that to me is excellent service.
