Review Time
We had our property listed with a different local agent for several months during winter, so we opted to switch agents in the spring. We selected a new agency because they had multiple branches nearby, which we believed would help reach a broader audience. The agent reassured us that our property would be marketed through all their offices and claimed it should sell quickly. While photographs were taken and the for sale sign was promptly displayed, we found that our listing was not online after a week, and a promised social media video had not been produced. We had to call to ensure our listing appeared on the main property sites. A date was set for the video shoot, but the agent failed to show up, requiring multiple follow-ups from us. After a couple of weeks, I visited one of the offices to check on our property's marketing, only to learn that each branch operates independently and wouldn’t promote properties from other branches unless there was a commission-sharing agreement. When I raised this issue, the agent claimed there was a misunderstanding, though we had clearly communicated our expectations. He mentioned he would try to resolve it. A few days later, the manager came to film the social media video, and we inquired about cross-branch marketing. He assured us that any customer registered at any branch would receive details centrally, provided the property was in their search area. However, after our friends registered at that branch, nothing was sent. When I asked the agent about it, he confirmed that nothing was shared centrally, leaving us uncertain about the truth. Additionally, there were persistent errors with our marketing details and photos, which took numerous attempts to correct. We did receive one viewing through the agency, but it seemed suspicious as the viewer spent an unusually short time at the property, raising doubts about their genuine interest. The only positive aspect was that there was no notice period, so after a month, we could leave and find a more competent agent. I strongly advise against using this agency for selling— they displayed incompetence and a lack of honesty.
After reading various reviews, I felt compelled to share my experience. I began renting with the company around five years ago and was pleased with the service and my property. After moving to a different location, I noticed a shift in service quality from the rental team. Thankfully, I had a supportive landlord. However, transitioning between tenancies presented challenges, including our bond being withheld despite my partner being a professional cleaner. It felt like retaliation for raising concerns about the new property’s condition. Throughout our year in the latest property, we requested several repairs, including proper painting of door frames and addressing a leaking bath. These issues weren't resolved until the new team took over, and I brought them up again in August; they were handled promptly and to a much higher standard. Upon vacating, we left the house in significantly better condition than when we moved in. Communication was excellent, leading to a satisfied tenant, a pleased landlord, and a positive review for the new team. I believe the previous team faltered, but the new team deserves recognition for their outstanding service. As both a landlord and tenant, I would gladly recommend their support services.
The manager at the local branch displayed unprofessionalism. Their management of my property led to contract breaches, costing me thousands. His dismissive attitude towards the damage caused by tenants he placed in my property was shocking. Avoid at all costs.
I had a dreadful experience with the local office and wish I had checked reviews beforehand. They quickly accepted a holding deposit but failed to follow through on a guarantor option after I mentioned potential credit check issues. For two weeks, I've been trying to get my holding fee returned, facing excuse after excuse. This is particularly stressful as I’m dealing with an eviction and financial strain. Absolutely unacceptable.
I recently dealt with a representative and her team at the local office. They made broken promises, displayed rudeness, and were dismissive. I found better service elsewhere, where I was treated respectfully. I was taken aback by her behavior, and this isn't my first encounter with the company; both times have been disappointing.
All staff were very accommodating. Property viewings were no issue, even when I only needed to measure a few things. They were always available to assist and even expedited the solicitors to ensure a smooth move. Many thanks to the team for their help with paperwork when I had no internet access. Highly recommend the local site.
Very disappointing service from the local branch. I'm still waiting for a holding fee refund after not receiving any follow-up forms. Communication has been poor, with the agent often unavailable and email responses sporadic. I have a complete paper trail. I didn’t want to leave a negative review, but I'm at a loss as I'm getting nowhere in resolving this issue.
