The repair and service was excellent.

The repair and service was excellent in all respects.Lauren was my telephone and email contact and she performed her customer relations duties in a friendly but very efficient manner. She is a credit to the Paramo team.

Cost cutting could cost lives…

I`ve owned paramo for over twenty years and they are still going strong, so I decided to treat myself to a new Cascada Jacket. Big mistake, I suffer from poor circulation in my arms and hands so heat retention is paramount for me. The new Cascada is a shadow of its former self in every way. The most important aspect of a jacket is to keep you warm & dry, the original Paramo achieved this by using multiple layers in each jacket trapping air in between each layer, the new jackets have far fewer layers. Even adding more base layers under the jacket doesn`t achieve as good a result. In short this cost cutting exercise will cost lives on a mountain, if you`re constantly generating heat while moving you`ll be ok however if you get stuck or injure you`re self in sub zero temperatures you`re chances of survival is significantly reduced. Don`t get me wrong in my opinion Paramo is still better than Gor-Tex as latter sucks the heat away from you`re body. Even so I`ll be surprised if the Mountain Rescue Volunteers still use them.

So disappointed.

So disappointed. Worn twice, first time out in (moderate) rain, it leaked after 1 hour. Contacted Paramo who suggested wash and re-proof. Its only been worn twice and has been kept in a clean wardrobe, surely if it needs re-proofing already, it should not be marketed as waterproof?

Bad, expensive purchase, avoid

I bought my partner a Pajaro jacket from the EBay outlet after hearing such great recommendations from my walking friends, who had purchased their Paramo’s years earlier and really recommended them. It leaked after only a small rain shower, so contacted Paramo, Nik Wax, who had me return it too them for treating at my own expense. It made no difference on return, still leaked in after only a small 10 min rain shower. Cannot be made the same as older Paramo’s or is faulty, cheaper material. Unfortunately is only fit for the bin.I have since bought my partner a new Gortex 3 layer jacket at half the price but is far more waterproof as it has been out in longer rain showers and stayed waterproof without leaking in.

Makes the rain enjoyable.

I have no experience about direct contact with the company because I have never needed to but seeing a number of negative reports about their water resistance I felt I needed to given my experience with my Cascada coat. It is the only "waterproof" that I have had in 50 years that hasn't leaked. I have had several Gore-Tex based types that were not only nowhere near as breathable but also leaked in extreme conditions. I mainly now use it for walking my dogs and have been out in some absolutely humungus downpours where it has been coming down like stair rods for over an hour. The coat on the outside looked wetted out but not a drop appeared inside. Vey soft and comfortable and the only criticism I could make is that it can get a bit warm. Brilliant if like me you like being toasty but some might find this model without any zip vents, a bit hot in mild weather. Keep it clean and reproof regularly as instructed and it should last a lifetime especially considering that if you should rip one they can be repaired by Paramo without affecting the waterproof qualities. I don't think this is possible with a Gore-Tex product. I actually enjoy going out in the rain since I bought it 6 years ago.

Expensive and useless

Expensive and useless I bought a Pajaro jacket ( currently £315 on Go Outdoors) - convinced by the marketing, Paramo’s description of how their ‘directionality’ works, and that it is non rustle for birdwatching. Overview: directionality does not work: the jacket gets sodden in wet weather, increasing the weight by up to 50%. This means that it is both heavy and not breathable. So I end up soaking from sweat with moderate exertion in rain on low level dog walks. (let alone a strenuous mountain walk which is misery)This is still the case when it is washed and reroofed as per Paramo’s instructions.Detail:Water from the soaked jacket travels up the inside of the hem and cuffs wetting my clothes The arm vents are in the line of the forward facing arm seam so that rain blows inThe seams around my hood leakThe pockets also leak and soak the contents As my issue is mainly with the fundamental design of their clothing rather than with the manufacture of an an individual product I would never buy Paramo again - an expensive mistake on my part.

From order to delivery excellent, sizing inconsistent

From order to delivery was excellent, however I am returning the Bentu duology jacket and fleece. The sizing is completely off the scale. I have an Alta ll in x large, it's really big but ideal for a mid layers or fleece in the colder conditions. I ordered the large in the Bentu, it's about 8 inches too small. I just don't get it. My friend is a size 10 and it fits. Disappointed 😞

Unreliable Company

I ordered a jacket from the Paramo outlet at Ebay. It was allegedly delivered, but I certainly never got it. Paramo have now closed the case, after ghosting my messages. I’ve bought and worn Paramo for over 15 years, also bought a jacket for my son. But this level of customer care is not what I’d expect and certainly not what they portray on their website. I’ll be changing brands now.

I use Paramo gear regularly year round…

I use Paramo gear regularly year round in the Scottish mountains, mainly the Cairngorms. I have a Velez Adventure Light, Velez Evolution and a Torres Alturo insulated jacket. Brilliant bits of kit that are also worn by many outdoor professional and MRT members. It does need to be regularly cleaned and proofed to stay effective, but I like to keep my gear clean anyway. Big bonus is that it's much comfier and quieter than hardshell.

Bought Paramo trousers for hiking.

Bought Paramo trousers for hiking.Size was ok, but after wearing 4 times, the zip failed. It wasn't stitched together at the bottom correctly. The store had no replacement in my size and their repair department weren't taking anything in for repair for 4 months. Poor quality trousers at a very high price for what you get. I have trousers that are still going strong after many years and cost a fraction of the price. Will not purchase Paramo again.
