I bought a flexible ticket so that I…

I bought a flexible ticket so that I could cancel if needed. When I booked there is a big button that says PDF; I clicked it as I wanted to double check the cabin with my wife was the same. However, in smaller letters it said that by getting a pdf you can not cancel anymore. One click of the button and you lose a lot of money. They should not make it so easy to make such a mistake. It seems almost like a trick

Cannot be trusted due to constant downgrades and lack of correct information

While we understand that downgrades can happen, receiving incorrect information is unacceptable. We have lost trust in their services and will never use them again. We have used their Nightjet services several times for the Munich to Rome route. However, on each occasion, they have downgraded our sleeper wagons to seat wagons. This time, we received an email notification about the issue, so we decided to contact their support number. Despite calling them three times, they kept insisting that our wagon was not affected and it was a different one instead. In a last attempt, I even approached their ticket office in Munich a few hours before the train departure, and they reiterated that our wagon was not subject to any changes. To our dismay, upon boarding the train, we discovered that our wagon had indeed been downgraded to a seated one. This came as a shock to us, as we would have cancelled the tickets and made alternative arrangements if we had known in advance. Travelling with a 2-year-old and a 4-year-old in such situations is incredibly stressful.

Terrible customer service, outrageous T&Cs

Such a shame that this company, which is reintroducing night trains in Europe, makes such a complete shambles of its customer care. For one thing, they have this outrageous and totally illogical policy that bookings advertised as fully refundable on their website are suddenly completely fixed (non-refundable and non-changeable) once you unwittingly generate a PDF for the ticket. This makes no sense whatsoever and is completely customer unfriendly. I will think twice about travelling with them again (but of course they have a monopoly, which is why they will keep getting away with this outrageous behaviour).

Awful. Hamburg to Copenhagen on OBB. Avoid

Absolute shambles. Overbooked. Expensive. Broken bathrooms that can't be used. Small child had to poo in hallway between cabins. People forced to sit on the ground who have paid for seats. Take DB or a plane. OBB oversold the Hamburg to Copenhagen route by at least 30%. You will regret ever choosing this train, even first class.

Very, very disappointing.

Unfortunately I have to agree with all of the one-star reviews. I had to travel from Germany to Innsbruck, and my train never arrived. No one even ever announced that it wouldn’t. So all of us who were waiting for it didn’t even knew what was happening. Cancelled? Maybe, who knows. 1+ hour late? Perhaps, but nobody to tell us this. I had to take a second train last minute and to pay a very pricey ticket, for which I have already asked the OBB for reimbursement. I’m sorry because the train (mine was a Railjet) is nice in itself. But it means nothing if everything else just DOES NOT work.

Bad service, not responding to customer support requests

There was no sleeper car that I booked for a trip from Kranj to Zürich. The train was more than an hour late. When returning from Zürich the train was rerouted through Germany, where it just stopped for a few hours, resulting in the train being more than 5 hours late, due to which I missed my job. After all this I contacted their support via webform as the telephone was never picked up, and 14 days later still received no response.
