I bought a brand-new whirlpool…

I bought a brand-new whirlpool refrigerator July of 2022, and it is now March 2024 and the compressor is already bad on it! I called them to try to get it worked out and they just kept transferring me to other lines trying to get rid of me until I finally got in contact with the highest level of care and they told me that they wouldn't help me AFTER someone already agreed that it would be covered by the DNG warranty. DO NOT BUY WHIRLPOOL EVER!

Buyer Beware – Poor refrigerator wiring design

At less than 5 years old, the ice maker stopped working on this $1800 refrigerator. After much work to troubleshoot the issue, we contacted an appliance repairman who was incredibly helpful and had me look one more place before he came out. He made us aware of a known flaw with the wiring between the refrigerator and the freezer door. Sure enough, the sheathing was damaged and the wires had broken leaving a possible shock hazard. The only way to fix this is to spend $800+ for another freezer door! After speaking with Whirlpool customer service and escalating to a supervisor, the answer I got was essentially - "Sorry, there are no known issues and you are out of warranty, do you want 25% off a new refrigerator or do you want to spend even more money on a new door?" Are you kidding me??!?!If you Google "Whirlpool Refrigerator Wiring," you will find NUMEROUS videos about this known issue that Whirlpool refuses to acknowledge -

Terrible quality

Terrible quality. On going issues with my Amana washer since day 1 to year 2.Frustrating dealing with customer service. Reliability and Confidence with Whirlpool Corp and the Amana name is non existent. Do not purchase products from Whirlpool. April.16th, 5 visits later. Washer still isn't repaired. POS

Literally the freaking worst

Literally the freaking worst. Just bought a brand new freaking front loader since the last one leaked during the clean cycle. Not even a month in my house and it did it again, and on what cycle? The cleaning cycle! The front of the door has nothing inside there is nothing clogged anywhere in this thing!! This house is brand new! Just built December 202e and already I have had 2 whirlpool washers LEAK ONTO MY CARPET! Baseboards are ruined, carpet has been soaked TWICE, HARDWOOD FLOORING HAS HAD WATER ON IT TWICE!!!! Only reason I got the same washer is because it lasted so long at my old house and never had any issues. A brand new freaking washer.... SMH.... horrible horrible horrible!! I hope they can fix all the damage because there is no way on earth that's a coincidence!!

Poor Whirlpool washer reliability and possible impact on climate change

I have been a loyal Maytag product owner for many years. Recently, my $1000+ Maytag washer (made by Whirlpool) failed after 4 1/2 years, and it was not cost-effective to repair due to the extortionate cost of parts. The washer was hailed away. It was partly recycled, but mostly become landfill. Thousands of consumers are also reporting reliability issues and failure of their appliances from as little as 2 years after purchase. Across just 3 consumer advocate sites, there must be thousands of complaints along similar lines. When I approached Whirlpool, they said they would not pay for the repair as that would mean them favoring me over other consumers and that they wanted to treat everyone fairly. This is clearly not the case, as occasionally I have seen consumers writing about Whirlpool making exceptions. If you search for "product reliability washers years" you will see the average life expectancy of a washer is 10 years. The agent told me that the ten years is correct, but after repairs have been made in that time period.What?Don't bother going to The Better Business Bureau. They will likely do nothing, as they do not share with consumers that company's like Whirlpool are paying them membership fees, which is a conflict of interest. Other than reliability, I would also never purchase a Whirlpool product based on the negative impact the failure of my product had on climate change. I think it is reasonable to assume, I am not the only once who has faced this issue. In this case, Whirlpool can sell new washers or make money from selling expensive replacement parts when the appliance fails prematurely. Finally, based on my experience, their product reliability appears to be at odds with claims on their corporate website that they are actually helping the planet and reducing their carbon footprint. fire all those m***fckrs in customer service. Worst ever!!!!! seriously wasted 3 hours of my life just to tell me I needed a paper receipt or they could not help me at all when the previous 5!!!!!!!! people i talked to told me i only needed proof of purchase which i sent in an electronic receipt with the proof of purchase. Apparantley it wasnt enough and I needed the paper receipt which they could have just told me from the very beginning!!!!!!!! I’m never the type to make reviews ever but fire them the fk alll!!!!!

Very disappointed with Whirlpool and…

Very disappointed with Whirlpool and the company they provided to come to my home for service which was Platinum Service. My Ice maker caught on fire in Nov. 2023 and whirlpool only covered my first service fee as a “courtesy”. A technician from Platinum service’s came out in January after waiting 2 months without a working fridge or ice maker. I then paid $300 for a service fee and new ice maker. My next appt was today, a month from the last (which was frustrating that I had to wait ANOTHER month). The Tech came to install the ice maker and found out that the ice maker didn’t come with a wire harness (which he claims he’s never seen before). The gentleman told me it’ll be an additional $15.99 for a wire harness and he’ll be back within 3-5 business days. I then get an email from Platinum Services that I owe them $55 for a new wire harness after being told by the tech that it’ll be $16. After going back and forth with Whirl Pool and Platinum services for 6 hours out of my day, there resolution was that the tech should have known that the parts are sold separately and that it’s my responsibility to pay for the wire harness. Long story short, the tech should have known that we needed to order the harness back in January separately and then I would’ve had my ice maker working after waiting 4 months. On top of that, I told Platinum Services that I want my $400 back and to cancel my service because it’s been so frustrating and aggravating dealing with both companies and they claim that they only have an accountant in office once a month and she doesn’t know when they come in so I’ll have to wait for my refund. Everything just seems VERY shady and I DO NOT recommend them. Please save your TIME and your MONEY because both companies do not care. I have nothing good to say about this product and the worst customer service ever. They should not even be in business.

Bill, I'm being passed around on purpose

What went wrong is I believed your representatives that they were going to be taking care of me after purchasing a refrigerator. That was totally a lemon. I finally agreed on a $300 compensation which has taken me 4 months to not get. I'm more than outraged and been passed around for 4 hours today on the phone trying to get resolution. This company was the one I went to because they were a reputable Nationwide company. Well obviously you couldn't care less about your customers. My family has bought Whirlpool for over 60 years and you always come through till now. This is outrageous I would never buy another Whirlpool product again

Manufacturers defects

Bought a brand new whirlpool washing machine less than a year and a half ago. Tech came out 3 times and replaced a different part every time. Calling them gets you on the phone with someone whose job is to just talk to you and can't do anything. We have spent almost what the washing machine cost brand new already with no resolution for a machine that is supposed to last 10-15 years (not less than a year and a half). I will never do business with this company again. I understand things break sometimes but even the whirlpool certified tech said it looks like a manufacturers defect (that they make more money on with all the visits and replacement parts).
