Horrible company and horrible dishwasher. Takes 3 1/5 hours to wash a normal load of dishes and the dishes are still wet after the cycle. Whirlpool customer service is one of the most HORRIBLE companies I've dealt with and they care nothing about their customers. They said sorry but we're doing nothing to fix it. Ridiculous to pay this kind of money for a dishwasher that takes so long to run and doesn't dry your dishes. Their answer..."run hot water into the dishwasher first and after 3 1/2 hour cycle open the door to let them dry"? Really? $1000 dishwasher and I have to do these additional steps to have dry dishes? Customer service is a joke and you sit on hold for an hour every time you call. Had service call and codes showed fine so they refused to do anything about it despite the fact that it doesn't dry the dishes and I use rinse aid non stop in the machine. Asked to have another service tech come out for second opinion and that tech "consulted" with the first tech and that was considered the second opinion... no service call at all. This dishwasher was only couple months old when had the issues and they refuse to replace or fix anything on it so I'm now stuck with it and regular price on this machine is $1000.
This company is the worst. The products have design flaws and even when you buy the warranty , they will not make it right they just keep sending techs out to fix a problem that cannot be fixed. They have ignored all of my phone calls instead of just giving me another design or a refund. Missing work to deal with technicians. Extremely Unhappy
We purchased a new home in May 2021. It came with Whirlpool appliances and we ordered a new Whirlpool refrigerator. The range, very high end, main panel for all functions went haywire, quit working. After waiting for about 2 months finally repaired. Same problem again but after warranty, but still warrantied by the company that serviced it because less than a year had passed. Except that company no longer services this part of the state. Many calls to Whirlpool and Mary said she would talk to higher up and then we were approved to have it repaired at no cost to us since it should have been covered from first repair. That was 2 1/2 months ago. Soooo many calls, so many new people to explain to. Now saying won't repair at no cost. Whirlpool frig gasquet, under warranty, FINALLY came to replace and it doesn't fit right. Came in box all wrinkled and twisted from Whirlpool. Can't seem to get ahold of the repair people to come back again. Two appliances, nothing done, or not done right. We have always recommended and praised Whirlpool. Not anymore. We have had enough.
We had several issues with our Whirlpool refrigerator delivery. They wouldn’t hook up our water line saying it was too old, but a different plumber had used it just 8 months earlier without question. Fine, I couldn’t really argue. But then the tech just handed me his phone to sign for delivery without even opening the fridge to show me anything. They didn’t remove the wrapping or tape, and when I asked he said it could damage the stainless finish due to it being so cold while on the truck. Again I couldn’t disagree because I don’t know, but they didn’t remove any from the inside either, which isn’t stainless. Every single shelf and door bin had tape, plastic, and packing that I had to remove. When my husband got back in town a few days later, he immediately saw they didn’t level the fridge - it rolls every time you open the doors. The “leveling tool” provided with the fridge didn’t fit so he had to buy the right size wrench. He is very experienced with home improvement projects but still said how frustrating leveling the fridge was because of how hard it is to reach the part and not having room to turn the wrench. I had contacted Whirlpool via web form on 1/9 and hadn’t received a response by 1/20 so reached out via FB. The social team asked my contact info 1/24. Then on 1/26 their only resolution was sending a link to the user guide on how to level a fridge. Completely missed the point that their service wasn’t what was paid for. And I had to pay a plumber to hook up the line since my husband was out of town, and then he had to deal with leveling it once he was back. I feel like the tech took advantage that I was here alone and knew I was busy working and didn’t know what questions to ask. I would never pay for Whirlpool home delivery again.
Customer service and product service are nonexistent. Purchased a washer and it quit working the first month. The service provider they recommended said it was an issue he had seen a lot and would "rig" it to last until the correct parts were available. He then went out of business and Whirlpool said they could not locate another. We had several others come which were unable to repair the unit. Whirlpool offered to cover service and parts and provided telephone numbers which did not reach the responsible party. Once I accidentally came across a number that did reach someone they refused to help as it had taken too long for them to honor their offer. Would NEVER purchase another Whirlpool product.
I am constantly purchasing appliances of all types to remodel and maintain about 700 apartments. I have been having a recurring problem with Whirlpool Refrigerator/Freezer model WRT549SZDM00. I have been purchasing this model for about the last 4 years although I have had similar problems with other Whirlpool models I have purchased as well. The problem is that the refrigerator does not cool food properly. Sometime it manifests in having cold spot or having temperature vary to much freezing some food and not keep food cool. Sometimes it is issues with not cooling enough even on high setting. Sometimes it is cooling too much. Sometimes it is loosing cooling ability all together. Both the refrigerator and freezer are affected and it seems to be that the compressor is not operating properly or at all. We have checked and replaced the starter on the compressor. We have checked and replaced the thermistors/thermometers. We have checked operation of both fans. Coils are completely clean. We than tried to enter service mode by starting in lowest setting, pressing SW1 and pressing and holding door switch for 5 seconds and nothing happened other than maybe advancing from D9 to D8 and light in fridge going on and off with the door switch. Than ordered a new control board and replaced. Still not cooling. Attempted to enter service mode with replacement control board this time it responded by lighting up D9, D8, D7 and D6 all at once than D6 turned off, than D7 turned off than D8 turned off. D9 stays lit but nothing else happens. When press SW1 to advance from test 1 to test 2 it just turns off D9 and turns on D8 and so on as it is not in service diagnostic mode. We than got another control board and it did what original one did did not enter service mode. Than got another control board again it did what original board did. I noticed that the control boards have a date on them of October 2017 or September 2017 so they are same age as one in this refrigerator. I currently have 9 refrigerators that I can not fix that are doing this. They range in age from 4 years old to 1.5 years old. I am so frustrated with Whirlpool all of there stuff is junk now. I always bought Whirlpool cause it was supposed to be the best obviously they are now the worst and most unreliable company. I typically have one out of ever 5 appliances from them that is either damaged or not working out of the box. Any help would be greatly appreciated is there an updated control panel for this model or something? I have contacted Whirlpool and of course they claim this is so strange that they have not heard of anyone else having this problem, but that is clearly a lie considering I have had 13 with this problem out of the last 40 I ordered. Four were replaced under warranty as I received them like this. Also some of mine have a control panel with only 3 cool setting lights but the service mode instructions are based on one with 4 lights is there a different instruction that should have come with them? The one all of mine has is W11040771. Not that it matters as whether they have 3 light or 4 settings none of them go into service mode. The 3 setting control panel is model# W10841247 Rev. A. The four setting control panel is W10883377 Rev. C. Please help.
