Took my cat into the Barnsley branch a fortnight ago. Waited for 40 minutes past his appointment time. He had an eye infection and was given antibiotic drops for it after finally seeing the vet. 10 days later and the drops had not cleared it up, indeed it had visibly worsened. Called Barnsley at 8:30am for a same day appointment. They couldn't find his drops on the system but booked an appointment for 17:40pm that day. I took time off work and drove from home in Doncaster to the clinic. Arrived to book in, there was no appointment on the system nor were there any available. Incredibly rude receptionist with "Moonbeam" tattooed on her arm just shrugged and asked me what I expected them to do while labelling other patients medication. The vet came out and stated that she was just there to do admin, despite then calling another patient in. I asked for more eye drops, was told that my cat couldn't have them without seeing the vet first. I was told to try Dewsbury branch in the morning. I explained that I was working and had already taken time off that day on the expectation of an appointment with their branch, I wasn't happy to do the same with yet another branch, not to mention the fuel costs in getting there. I begged them to see my sick cat. Told them I was willing to wait however long it took. Zero empathy. Absolutely zero. Was then told that if I'm not happy with it I can go through the complaints procedure but the clinic manager wouldn't be in until Monday and this was Friday. I was made to feel like I was being unreasonable for worrying about a very sick pet. UTTERLY DISGUSTING. Please do not take your animals to any branch of this organisation. I only wish that I could give them zero stars.
My rescue dog is the most important thing in life. I moved to dogs trust as unhappy with the cost of a procedure I was quoted for at vets for pets, quoted a thousand pounds for a procedure that cost 61 pounds at animal Trust and no anaesthetic which was a major concern as my rescue dog is flat faced. I love this vets it's about the animal not money.i get a fab service at the shrewsbury branch reception staff are the best, great on the phone and keep you updated really on the ball.I will always use the animal Trust and recommend them to everyone . Its a great organisation well run and every vet I have met has been great and extremely knowledgeable thank you .
We took our dog for a small operation took him at 7 45 in the morning g he was only a small puppy we got home with him at 6 3o also sent me a .message for second half of payment would appreciate it to e paid quickly I sent one back saying I had already paid it in the vet before before wel left and did ot appreciate the to tone they used as if I was trying to get out of paying very unprofessional won't be used g the. again
Don't touch animal trust, they are very irresponsible, administration insisted I owed money, when I did not, I contacted them on many occasions, just to be told they don't keep records, which is absolute nonsense, then they decided to get a dept collectors involved, and threatened court action, long story short, they had to back down, because they were wrong, administration, and the receptionists don't know what they are doing
This company doesn't deserve 1 star This veterinary experience at Animal Trust Dewsbury left much to be desired. I arrived to pick up my dog's medication, expecting it to be around £29 as usual. However, they provided a different, more expensive brand due to stock issues, insisting on a £42 charge. With only £33 in hand, I requested half the tablets but was informed of an additional dispensing fee, leaving me short. To acquire a paper prescription for online purchase, they charged a staggering £27.Upon further investigation, I discovered that the same medication could be obtained for just 10p per tablet, making it a mere £6 for 60 tablets. The £42 charge for 60 tablets and the £27 prescription fee, especially from a so-called non-profit veterinary clinic, appears exorbitant. It raises questions about their claim of being a non-profit establishment when the facts suggest otherwise.
I would give this vets a wide berth, they really don't have any compassion for pets and their owners. Rude reception staff, worse than any doctors surgery I’ve ever been too. They left my dog with a UTI for over a week and lost the wee sample and even said we hadn’t dropped it sample off. Charge me £60 pound which i had to get refunded, I will never take my dog there again. They don’t even deserve one star.
Advised by a friend to move my dog to this vets, contacted them to book the dog in for neutering . The receptionist explained to me that they required his file sending from previous vets, which with no hesitation I got done within the hour. I was told to wait 48hours for them to register his file, I then called back to book his appointment to be told they were not doing this operation currently with no explanation. I advised I had been in various contacts discussing this and was never advised it wasn’t a treatment currently available. I requested to speak to a manager due to the time wasted and the lack of knowledge from staff. I did not hear anything back so called 3 working days later, to be advised the manager was in a meeting and would call me back after. Again, I did not hear anything so called back again to be told the manager was not in the practise and to submit an online form! The receptionist Elsie is nothing but unhelpful and rude - I asked if they recorded their calls which she declined. Finally, she advised they were not completing the operation due to emergency surgeries being priority which I completely understand but was never given this explanation in the first place. Would be ideal if they hired less rude and more knowledgeable receptionists. Can not advise on the actual professional vets as I could not make it that far.
Happy to receive an emergency appointment after complaining on here. Only to be so disappointed AGAIN after arriving 30 minutes late for admission time 8:30am (given the fact that surgery 1st was at 1pm 2nd surgery at 2pm) due to taxi availability during peak hour and slow traffic via the Birkenhead tunnel but did inform them that I am going to be late. Once again my pets were unable to be admitted because of an ‘emergency’ I sat for 1 hr waiting to be admitted counting 10 consultation rooms! My dogs became restless and very stressed in the waiting room full of other unhappy patients. I decided to return home due to the stressful situation my dogs were in. Dogs don’t understand if there’s an ‘emergency’ situation. My pets we’re struggling to keep calm after 1 hour. I was told the vet was still in an emergency situation and that no other vet was available to admit my dogs. What constitutes as an emergency situation? That lasts more than 1 hour? 10 rooms No vets? Oxymoron policy
My baby boy was hit by a car in October and it didn’t look good so naturally me and my partner were beyond devastated. Receptionist kept blabbing on about costs not caring I couldn’t speak because I was in shock. Told her I don’t care and we would pay she then proceeded to approach us a further three times about payment and did not ask us once if we were okay. Vet was stressed and had a go at us for not taking him to the Manchester branch which in an emergency was too far away - she didn’t lay off until I lost my temper and she backed off - considering they were dealing with an incredibly traumatic situation that needed to be handled with the utmost care and empathy they failed spectacularly on every level. My boy died and I have never been so glad to get out of a place so I could grieve and get away from these money grabbing monsters
