Insufficient product information.

We were seriously considering buying a sofa but it looked to have creases in the leather. We therefore wanted to satisfy ourselves that it was new/ ex display and not a possible customer return with potential undisclosed issues. The sales person was unable/unwilling to provide us with any history/ comfort so we took our business elsewhere. Prior to doing so however we spent considerable time trying to gather information and the lack of understanding of the reasons for our concerns was not really understood. The last concern was an offer of discount but this was subject to us agreeing to buy “as seen” - surely all shop floor sales are buy as seen!

absolutely brilliant service from James…

absolutely brilliant service from James and martin in the St Helens shop. James spent hours with myself and elderly mother trying every piece of furniture for comfort. He also listened to exactly what she needed and pointed out the first piece of furniture for comfort which was dismissed at the time, but then hours later it was the one. above and beyond all expectations. we also left and went back hours later after trying many other furniture shops just in case we missed out on something. Best place for choice and delivery within a week simply perfect thank you James.

Disappointing After Sales Service

I am extremely disappointed with the after sale customer service I received at Joseph James St Helens. I was misled about the RRP of a sofa in what is advertised as a discount store. The pricing was presented as a genuine discount, but it later became clear that they were actually charging more for a product that was supposedly reduced. This felt very misleading.When I raised the issue, it was not handled fairly or transparently. Instead of properly addressing the concern, I was offered a discount voucher toward a future purchase, which does not resolve the issue of being overcharged in the first place. A voucher does not correct misleading pricing.Overall, although sales staff in the St Helens store were were friendly and polite, I found the after sale experience frustrating and disappointing. I would, therefore, not recommend buying from this store based on how this situation was handled.Mr K Birch, St Helens

Beautiful Leather Sofa

I ordered a leather sofa from these guys that I’d seen online. I was a little cautious as it’s a lot of money to spend on something that you haven’t seen (or sat on!). They were extremely helpful and professional, supplying me with videos to reassure me with lots of communication. As a result I went ahead and payed/ordered. 🤞The sofa was dispatched and received within a few days! Just amazing service!I did expect to find maybe a minor blemish but it’s absolutely faultless!All electrics work well and all accessories were well packed and supplied.I’m so relieved and happy that I have this sofa, and it saved me 💷My experience has been first rate and I would totally recommend these guys to anyone else that’s hesitant to buy.Do it - you won’t be disappointed!

Great service and experience at the showrooms

I had an excellent experience with Joseph James. I browsed the Stretford branch and then went to Stockport planning to do the same. Matt was extremely helpful and knowledgable. I ended up purchasing a sofa in less than half an hour which I didn't expect as the process was so easy and Matt was so helpful that the whole process was super easy and stress free. I left feeling super happy with my purchase and i can't wait for it to arrive in just 3 days time.

Retailers send us clearance stock for many reasons. We receive photography samples, end-of-line stock, cancelled orders, customer returns and ex-display pieces. This stock is sorted, quality checked, photographed and uploaded to our website.

    As our name suggests, we were founded in 2019 by Joseph and James. After leaving school at 18, they launched the company from a dilapidated basement unit in a Stockport mill with just 5 sofas.

    The popularity of their discounted branded sofas and rapid delivery model facilitated strong growth. Joseph and James have always sought to do things differently from the incumbent outlets. This began by being the first furniture outlet to host a website which showed their live stock and was available to be ordered immediately by customers. Joseph and James don't wish to be just another furniture outlet, they want to be the biggest furniture outlet. They want to have a nationwide presence of large showrooms which offer a unique furniture shopping experience.See more
