I bought a pair of earrings for my anniversary, after only a month 1 of the backings broke which led to a lost item and the store would not refund the faulty product. Only a week later the backing for the other earring broke too which they also said they could not replace. Overall a horrible experience for what I thought was going to be a good product.
I have taken in an expensive diamond ring 3 times to MH because the top piece kept coming off, and they have refused to warranty it. It has been very frustrating dealing with them, as they are blaming me for the poor design of the ring. The first time it happened they gave me a new ring, as they agreed it was a design flaw, but when it happened 2 more times to the new ring, now they refuse to warranty it and are saying it is my fault. Terrible customer service, don't buy from them!!
Purchased gold stud earrings for my granddaughters Birthday from Indooroopilly, her Birthday was after Christmas but purchased them a few months earlier when sales were on, but still pricey but that’s ok thinking it’s good quality, boy was I so wrong !! First week of her wearing the earrings the back part of the earring broke apart basically crumbled, gold should not do that. Went back to the store and they gave me another pair which I was ok thinking maybe it was just a bad batch but then 4 days later same thing happened. Went back to the store for the second time and this time they replaced back only, the staff member was quite rude he basically didn’t give a crap. Apparently he said there's no refund on earrings that’s their policy, Its understandable if it’s a change of mind but faulty earring design and quality is reasonable reason for a refund or even if they could offer a credit note to purchase another style of earring. Both visits staff were so rude to me and to my daughter, what happened to customer service ? I’m so embarrassed that my gift to my granddaughter for her special Birthday is crap and now she is too scared to even wear in case the backs break down and she’ll looses one of the earring. I did question the staff member if the backs break apart again what happens next and he said we may escalate ?What does that mean ?I said to the staff member lucky both times we manage to catch the earrings what happens if the back breaks down again and we lose one of the earring he was like well then we can’t do anything! So basically they’re hoping we loose one of the earring and then the store doesn’t have to deal with the issue. The only reason my granddaughter would loose the earring in the first place is because the backs break apart which is clearly a fault of the design of the earring. Think again customers before you make any purchase, be aware there is no after service.I have purchase many Jewellery pieces from other stores and have never had a problem on quality and have never faced such rudeness.
Poor after sales service. I only bought this watch and paid extra compared to other sites for the after sales service.The strap needed shortening and I went to 2 stores in Christchurch, the second one on the recommendation of the first one. Neither would alter the strap and said it would need to be sent away.I went to Pascoes next door and the strap was adjusted in 5 minutes.Expensive product compared to other sites.
Do Not go to the Frankston store VicI took my ring in to get a quote as I lost the Amethyst stone I said I wanted to replace it with a Sapphire the girl said to me your couldn’t afford it even if you wanted one. I was disgusted in this comment how would she know if I couldn’t afford it. She also said that I can only have another Amethyst replacement I have no idea why I couldn’t have a sapphire??? The lady told me that she will give me the measurements of the stone which is included in the quote.Last week I went into collect my ring when I said I wasn’t going ahead with the ring the lady only gave me my ring back with No measurements I had to ask for it.Unfortunately I’m done with this .I’m never going to any Michael Hill store again 😡
Extremely disappointed and genuinely outraged I have recently been gifted the Diamond Star Accent Narrow Signet Ring in Sterling Silver from Micheal Hill. All started out fine, however after 7 days (being generous here), I started to notice that apart from the ring polish vanishing black lines started to appear on the edges as well as the underside of the ring (which had a big black spot). I have been wearing sterling silver all my life and wear jewellery including sterling silver rings everyday and have never seen this happen to any other rings I wear on a daily basis. Upon doing some research, I found that this can occur if the ring is of poor material quality. So I went onto the Michela Hill website where endless assurances are made that products are of the highest quality and that there is even a 12 month warranty on products. Since The ring was less than a month old (from purchase date) I went to Micheal Hill Chadstone, expecting to be able to exchange the ring without hassle, due to the clear quality fail. Oh boy was I wrong.. Store staff was shocked when I revealed the ring and showed the gift receipt highlighting the purchase date. The staff took the ring to the back to be able to give it a clean and assess the damage. Upon return the staff member informed me that the damage done to the ring, was my fault and while unfortunate there was nothing she could do. I was shocked!! I then questioned how it is possible for a ring to become that damaged after a week of normal wear? This was and still is a genuine question I have.I showed the staff member my two other sterling rings I have worn, one for 1 year and the other for 3 years that do not have any black on them, to which she explained that she does not know what I would have done with the ring while owning it.EVEN IF I was wearing the ring for a month damage of that degree would only be possible if I would have smashed the ring in between rocks on repeat (for the record I did not and I do not handle rocks in my daily life).Unwillingly to budge, I then showed the staff member their policy of 12 month warranty, which states that should there be a product fault it can be exchanged or refunded for 12 months after purchase- still to no avail. WE then went on to talk to the manager the next day, who took the same stance of persistent arrogance and denial.General Terms and Conditions of Purchase I have never written a review on a product in the past, but the complete lack of responsibility and disregard for facts and basic knowledge has amazed me.I unfortunately write this as a warning to other consumers, who may consider purchasing from this brand to try and give a precious gift to a loved one.DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY This company has a complete lack of disregard and responsibility for the product they make and after reading other reviews we have unfortunately not been the first to have been tricked by the marketing and empty promises of this brand. Sincerely disappointed.
I checked their return policy and earrings were not listed so I ordered with confidence. The earrings were NOT 10kt gold, very low quality. My ear hole reacted almost instantly. Further, I was informed that they would not allow returns or refunds so I am now out over $300 for earrings that I cannot wear. From Michael Hill's website:"If for any reason you change your mind about any eligible jewellery or watch purchase, we will gladly refund the purchase price within 30 days of purchase provided the item/s are returned in ‘As New Condition’. The following items are ineligible under our Change of Mind Policy: resized rings (whether resized as part of the purchase or after purchase), engraved items, or special, custom or made to order items. Do NOT go to Manawa Bay store. Keep as far away from this store as you possibly can. I’ve had good experiences with other stores but the manager at this store and his sidekick sales person are absolutely fraudulent. If there was audio in their cameras, (I have been told they don’t have audio recording with the cameras) they would be reviewed and both would be sacked. I wish there was a full investigation from Australia on what went on.
Ordered and chose express delivery which their website explicitly states is 1-3 business days. Now past that time (not including public holidays of course) and nothing. Their response they're busy (aka not adequately resourced for the busy period) and it will be the non express time period of 2-7 business days. So I paid for nothing? Order from any other jewelers than this inept business.
