Withhold basic crucial information

Listings on website don't provide the weights so sent message asking for weight of a gold chain, was told that providing the weights isn't in their policy and that they price based on design and materials? This may be okay for earrings, rings or necklaces 1g or under, but not for an $8000 gold curblink necklace which is what I was enquiring about. Obviously the weight is a factor when determining value.....along with materials and style. Thought providing the weight was standard, but Pascoes don't either. Better off going to a reputable jeweller who doesn't withhold basic info. I ended up going to Walker & Hall.

Poor quality jewelry

The jewelry from Michell Hills is of noticeably poor quality, with pieces that tarnish quickly and feel cheaply made. It’s disappointing considering the price, and does not meet the expectations set by their marketing.

Do not honour warrantys

Worst after sale care I have ever experienced. They do not honor their warranty's. I bought a $5000+ ring from them less than 12 months ago and it got completely bent out of shape. I took it into the Garden City store to show them the poor quality and to get it fixed and they came back to me and said it was 'customer mistreatment damage' so they would not cover it under their 12 month warranty. I explained to the lady that I wear six other rings from other jewelers every day and have never experienced such low quality before. The lady said 'it has to be my fault as she has never seen it happen before'.... I will for sure never be buying from Michael Hill again!! Read all the other reveiws and you will see they do not honor their warranty's.

We purchased a J Initial Pendant…

We purchased a J Initial Pendant necklace in 10kt Yellow Gold, but the chain broke within a few weeks. After returning it to the store, we were charged an additional $50 to repair the chain. Unfortunately, after picking it up, the chain broke again the very same afternoon. Michael Hill should take responsibility for their product and provide a replacement chain, as this is not a demonstration of standing by their customers. Their customer service needs improvement. We will be going back to this store to get either a new chain or refund and I hope they are more helpful in regards to this matter than in the past.

Rude unpleasant little Miss attitude!

Had the worst experience ever today at MH Kawana Shopping World on Sunshine Coast Qld. Upstart woman called Kylie was so rude, with a bad attitude!! MH lost a loyal customer today. I've spent loads of money in NZ and AU I have never encountered such bad manners nor arrogance ever! I do hope you learn to treat people with respect Kylie after all imagine your mother having to deal with that! Life is hard enough these days without people like you, making people like me feel less important! So if you can't approach people with kindness and a professional attitude maybe rethink your line of work.

Do not fall for their advertisement on…

Do not fall for their advertisement on their website saying "in stock" because it is misleading. I've ordered a necklace online, and 7 days later still no update. I asked their online chat service, and the reason was "there is a sourcing issue that causes the delay". What a ridiculous excuse! The website clearly says, ready to ship and in stock, yet the excuse for the delay is a sourcing issue. Find another jeweller if I were you. Don't waste your time and money! I wish I had read other reviews before I purchased. No wonder consumers gave 1.4-star reviews.

I purchased a ring online because they didn't have one in the local shop.

I purchased a ring online because I couldn't see it in my local Michael Hill store. I didn't realise that they only make a standard size so when you order it online it becomes "made for you" which means you can't get a refund when you receive it.

Necklace warranty

Purchased an expensive necklace with a lifetime warranty. Took the necklace back for 6 month inspection. All ok, today 1.5 years took it back for inspection it was inspected no charge and still all was OK however was informed my warranty was void as I missed an inspection. Very poor policy.

In 2013, my husband purchased my engagement ring from the Indooroopilly store with a lifetime care plan. Unfortunately, I first had to take my ring in for repair on the 11/03/2021as a diamond had fallen out and the I had to take it back in for the second time on the 19/04/2021 because the diamond had fallen out. Later, on 03/05/2024, I had to bring my ring back a third time for a similar issue—another diamond had fallen out.By the fourth incident on 24/10/2024, I was extremely frustrated. I spoke with the store manager, asking for either a replacement or a refund. She mentioned she would contact her area manager and that I could also call customer service. When I called, the customer service representative told me it was due to the ring's age, which made me feel disrespected and upset.The area manager later contacted me but echoed the same sentiment about wear and tear due to the ring's age. I explained the inconvenience of repeatedly bringing in the ring for repairs. She suggested that next time she would mail the ring to me after repairs, but I never received a follow-up call from her.Eventually, the store manager informed me that my ring was ready for pick-up. I reminded her of the area manager's promise to mail it to me. She said she would speak to the area manager again, but later called back to clarify that they couldn't mail it directly to me due to policy reasons. Instead, they could only mail it to the nearest store for collection. After picking up my ring on February 07//02/2025 I have experienced the same issue repeatedly: the diamonds in the ring have fallen out. This has occurred five times, with the latest incident happening on March 30, 2025 Despite assurances that the issue would be resolved, the problem persists, and I am now left with an engagement ring that cannot be worn or cherished.Not only has this caused me considerable inconvenience, having to bring the ring in for repairs and pick it up multiple times, but it has also resulted in emotional distress. The ring holds deep sentimental value, and the fact that it is unreliable means I can no longer consider it to be a family heirloom to pass down to my children. iI have since contacted the ac
