Issues from the start

We bought an approved used toyota over six months ago in Chelmsford branch. We've had issues from the beginning, which resulted in a few complaints issued. First of all, the car was advertised on their website as having Full Service History. When I enquired about it, I was told this would be available once I register on Toyota app (post purchase, of course). The only service available to this point is the one done by the dealership at the beginning of this year at 70.000 miles so no evidence of any previous service, oil changes- anything! I enquired several times and was told it will be sent to me via email...still no documents. Then came the issues with odd noises, what I assumed to be something in the front suspension. The car was inspected 3 times and some ridiculous conclusions drawn, such as rattling stones, aircon etc. Eventually, after us providing possible issue, the problem was inspected and 'fixed'. Unfortunately, after just a week, the noise came back again. These issues are only a fraction of the experience we've had so far. It was the first time we bought a used car from an approved dealership because we wanted peace of mind knowing any issues would be dealt with professionally. Unfortunately it is the complete opposite. The company lost our trust and in our eyes credibility as a quality dealership of used cars.

Reneged on an agreed price

Reneged on an agreed price. I agreed to buy a vehicle at a set price. When we sat down to do the paperwork the next day the salesman said he couldn’t honour the price agreed. I tried a different branch. I asked if a particular vehicle was on the premises to which they replied they would ensure it was. I went to look at the vehicle 3 days later, as agreed, and it wasn’t there. The salesman then tried to sell me a different car that I was not interested in. Several days later he rang and said the car was in stock so I went to look at it. Not there. They had apparently sold it and moved it off the premises in an hour it took me to get there. He then offered me another car.Basically they are devious liars or totally incompetent. You choose.

BEING IGNORED

THIS IS EXTREEM RUDENESS.On 03/04/2025 I was told that my leaking sump plug could not be fixed so I would need a new sump which i said yes to and they would order it and let me know when thy have all the bits. I rang Rumanon on 05/05/2025 to find out what was going on and was told that he was on the phone and and would ring back, no call now 08/05/2025. i have no idea why perhaps they do not have the expertiese and can only service cars. Toyota are the only people to touched the sump plug when they service. If they do not want or can not to do the job the they should have said, it is only polite.Just an update of this revie. They finally rang me on14/05/2025 saying they had nearly all the parts and I could book the car in for this week. I ask them why they had not sent me the quote for the job I as asked for on 03/04/2025 they said sorry they would e mail it to me and they checked the e mail address they have ,they send me many e mails, but no Quote has been sent. What reason can they possibly have for not sending the quote? I will leave you to your own guess.28/05/2025Still no from quote Steven Eagell Aylesbury giving up hope.Toyota make good cars its just Steven Eaglle that are hopeless.

customers cannot trust Toyota for refund or any reasonable services

On 9 march 2025, put a £500 refundable deposit, as asked by (Max Allen ), the Toyota manager in Stourbridge, to view a car Toyota Yaris KP69***, on 13 March 2025. We decided the car was unacceptable as both sides suspension are cracked, hence asked for deposit refund. Max Allen, the sales Lakesh and Trevor confirmed 7 days £500 will be in my account. On 1 April 2025, I still haven't received any refund. Made several phone calls [25/3 12:12am, 12:47am ; 28/3 12:15am ; 29/3 12:13am 1:07pm ; 31/3 5:49pm , 6:23pm ; 1/4 9:30am , 1:15pm 1:39pm ]last two weeks to Max Allen and other sales (Trevor Lee and Lakesh Paul, very impatient attitude) team but none of them are available and ignore me, no any replies. Apparently they didn't process a refund for me. Now I learnt from experience customers cannot trust Toyota for refund or any reasonable services.

We have a Toyota Proace Verso…

We have a Toyota Proace Verso wheelchair accessible vehicle. A rattle came in a rear side door panel. The vehicle was booked in ( under warranty) for a diagnosis on Monday this week (23.03.2025), the cause was found, the replacement part was ordered and the work was undertaken and completed today (28.03.2025). From making the initial call to book the car in, up to the work being completed, the customer service received was exemplary from the team at Bromsgrove. Whilst all the team contributed to the exemplary service provided, two individual members of staff deserve a special mention. Richard the technician, not only for his skill and expertise, but for his emotional intelligence and empathy, given the fact, the vehicle is used to transport a wheelchair user, and Victoria for her understanding, emotional intelligence, empathy and support when our daughter was with me whilst we were waiting for Richard to carry out the work. Fabulous customer service and Thank you!

Awful Customer Service & Staff

Awful Service. Will never be buying from here again.Took 2 weeks after putting down a deposit to actually go and collect the used car. To then be told that they didn’t have the log book ready or a second key.Been chasing up for over a week regarding second key, contacted three people (two managers and one salesman) and had no reply at all. So am escalating this to higher department to try and get this sorted.Do not buy from here if you want procedures to be done correctly and have proper aftercare service.

Lack of communication and poor customer service

I recently wrote a review on here regarding very poor customer service and lack of communication from the Aylesbury branch. Toyota then share their standard response to ask me to email my feedback to a specific address which apparently will be reviewed by senior management. It would appear that lack of communication is a systemic issue with Toyota as they have failed to reply to that email, and leave me no choice but to write reviews in the hope somebody replies at some point! I wont hold my breath!!

"Steven Eagell Toyota Romford: A Customer's Delight!"

I thought I would take the time to leave a review of my recent visits to the Toyota Dealership Steven Eagell in Romford. I took my brother there to look at purchasing a new Toyota Yaris and was met by sales executive Muhammad Ahmad. Straight away I knew we would all hit it off. We had pretty much done our checks on the details of the car, but my brother became convinced it wouldn’t go in the garage.“Well,” says Muhammad, “we had better find out.”So, he got the same model car we were thinking of buying, and despite the crazy traffic on A127 (if you live in the area, you know how it is, especially with the current roadworks) and went back home with us and drove it in the garage easily. I call that going the extra mile, or miles as it was more than one 😊. Once back at the dealership, and also having now seen and experienced the car, my brother was happy to purchase. No pressure, no sense of buy now or lose out on savings that we have experienced at other dealerships, and the whole experience was a real pleasure. In fact, I was so impressed, I went back a couple of days later and bought a Yaris Cross that I had spotted on the first visit for myself. Once again dealt with Muhammad and same easy pleasant time, which as you know it should be, but having bought cars from many dealerships over the years, hasn’t always been this way.So, I would sum up by saying if you are looking for a new vehicle, why not try out Steven Eagell in Romford? I’m sure you will be as pleased as we were with your decision and come away in the knowledge you just made a great choice and got a fantastic deal.
