Review Time
First time using Udemy. It is impossible to understand what the creator is saying.Tried to go for a refund and denied even if it is 2 days after I bought it and followed only the Introduction chapter. At only 5% of the lecture, not even out of the Introductory part, they say it is too much content already read, so not qualifying for a refund!!!
I've used Udemy many times in the pastToday, my wife suggested I do a course in a subject I needed to learn, 'it’s only £15’ she said. She shared the course with me, and in the time it took to AirDrop across the room, the price doubled. This was no doubt because she has no Udemy account and was not logged in, where as silly old me has been stupid enough to have paid for half a dozen Udemy courses over the years. So, my reward for being a good customer is that I am seen as a cash cow.So, I tried to communicate with someone at Udemy, and what do I get, some stupid ill conceived and inadequate AI agent, who doesn’t answer the questions, explain anything, or help at all. All the AI does do is demonstrate and confirm to me that Udemy regard users like me with an unpalatable level of contempt. So, I am NOT buying any more Udemy courses, and here I am warning others to steer well clear. Just look at the amount of really bad reviews on here, I think it speaks acres.
I used less than 1 hour on a 100 hour Udemy course. I submitted a request to Udemy after 1 day for a refund to the original payment method (PayPal). A refund was not given only a credit which is useless on a platform that does not work. Udemy is unusable and verrrrry slow, videos take forever to load. I tried multiple different browsers and a couple of different devices with the same issues. My Internet speed was fine on speed tests at 250 meg down and 50 up. I tried submitting another ticket for refund back to my PayPal account but got rejected by Udemy. I then raised a dispute with Paypal. Paypal did not even tak any notice of the refund policy just said the product was supplied. So there is no option of getting my money back. Ive closed my Udemy account they can keep the credit, Ive also closed my PayPal account. Lets vote by not using companies that dont provide a good enough sevice.
I’ve been a loyal Udemy user for years and have purchased numerous courses—spending a significant amount of money over time. I relied on those courses not just for learning, but as reference points for ongoing work and skill development.Recently, I got locked out of my account due to a broken or missing email verification link. I spent several hours trying to resolve it—resetting my password, checking spam folders, switching devices—but nothing worked. The support portal was no help. It kept looping me through automated bot responses that didn’t address the issue or offer a way to reach a real person. I wasted hours trying to get past the bot, with no resolution. Now I can’t even access the site, and I was actively using those courses. I likely would’ve purchased more, but this experience has made me question the reliability of the platform. As a paying user, I expected better. Udemy needs to improve its support system and make it easier for users to get real help when things go wrong.
several videos are not available on one of the courses I am watching, when I tried to inform support about it in most polite manner, the only way to contact them is to chat with their incredibly stupid ai assistant that cannot handle anything
Like the others, a 30 day refund was promised if the course was not satisfactory. I requested a refund within the hour of purchasing it. I was given credit for another course. No option of getting my money back. No way of getting past a chatbot that just says no cash back. Disgusting company. I will never buy another Udemy course.
My account was suspended even though I did nothing wrong.A friend gifted me a course using the official "Gift this course" feature. Payment was made legally via his card.Later, the course was automatically refunded by the system — not by me or him. Still, I was flagged for “abuse”.I never added a card or did anything suspicious. I only accepted a legitimate gift.I shared all proof (receipt, gift info, coupon) and even said they can delete the course — I’ll repurchase it myself.Yet all I received was generic replies. No proper human review.🎫 Ticket: 10208728I ask for a fair escalation and manual review. Otherwise, I’ll consider next steps.Disappointed.
I used to be a big fan of Udemy. Over the years, I bought more than 30 courses and genuinely got value from many of them. But after my recent experience, I’m extremely disappointed — and honestly feel cheated.I purchased a new course that looked decent in the previews. But once I actually enrolled and started learning, I quickly realized it was terrible — low-value, outdated, and poorly delivered. So I did what any user would do: I requested a refund. Then boom — I got hit with a message saying I’d “consumed too much of the course” and was no longer eligible for a refund. No exact percentage. No transparency. Just a vague rejection. At that time, I had only watched 8% of the course. Let me ask a basic question: how are we supposed to know a course is bad if we’re not allowed to watch enough to judge it?Look, if you want to remove the 30-day guarantee altogether, fine — just be honest about it. Don’t pretend to offer a fair refund policy and then use hidden rules and technicalities to deny users who are genuinely disappointed. That’s not just misleading — it’s a betrayal of trust.I didn’t just regret the course. I regretted the decision to trust Udemy again. And when I tried to fix it, you made me feel worse. You ruined my day over a few bucks and a broken promise. If anyone asks me about Udemy from now on… well, I think you already know what I’ll say.
