Cars4you Broxburn, West Lothian I really wanted the AUDI TTS that Cars4You had for sale. I agreed to accept £500 below the trade-in offer for my Honda CR-V what other garages were offering, if three things were sorted on the TTS: the interior mirror, the driver’s window and small chip on front bumper. We had ourselves a deal we were told the car would be transferred to Broxburn from Falkirk in a few days. We waited EIGHT days no one called, unfortunately the staff member had become unwell. My husband spoke to the director and the car was transferred and we arranged a test drive.I was buying the car but I wanted my husband to test drive it first, he has a similar car a S5. We were told to take, ‘As long as we liked’. We didn’t even get out of the estate when the petrol light came on on the TTS, we fuelled it up. 40 minutes into the test drive we received a phone call asking where we were, I explained we had to stop for fuel and that I was about to test drive it now. The conversation didn’t end well so we returned to the dealership and I asked for my deposit back. A patronising man (who probably thinks women should drive Ford Fiestas) told me most people take cars around the estate. I said if I’m test driving an Audi TTS I want to open it up on the motorway. The director spoke to my husband and I and apologised.Foolishly we bought the car. When I picked it up the mirror looked like it had been fixed as did the driver’s window. The front bumper hadn’t but I was told the paint was on order…still waiting. (I’m getting this repaired on Wednesday 10th April at a cost of £280).When I traded in my CR-V I removed my private registration plate and for a few days I was driving around with my private registration on my new car. Unbeknown to me this was illegal as Cars4you had misled me, regarding the fact that they did not have a log book for the vehicle they’d just sold me. I’d have to wait for one before assigning my private plate.THREE days after having the car the interior mirror fell off and I spent £38 to replace it.FIVE days after having the car it started to shudder the engine management light came on and the car broke down. Crankshaft sensor - the car has a warranty - this is the ONLY thing that was covered everything else I’ve had to pay for.The bulb holder for the car registration plate broke, which is wear and tear, but just added to the increasing costs of a five day old car.The driver’s window whistles when you drive at speed, I will get that repaired this week at some point.Who knows what else will go wrong with this car, which is a shame coz it’s a great car. A few broken promises and awful customer service. I should’ve trusted my intuition and walked away but my husband wanted me to have this car.My husband has purchased seven cars from Arnold Clark, Sighthill not as much as a bulb has gone. I’ve been driving 37 years and bought many cars and motorbikes and never experienced anything like this. Buying a new car is normally a fun way to spend your hard earned cash, this was a nightmare 😮
1 star is a joke, the mercedes reg sp65 fco silver estate I was going to buy, but then the service manager was not happy to sell it as had a major engine fault and couldn't get through an mot, this was 4 weeks after I bought the car, managed to get a loan car, spoke to MD or someone who claimed to be him, he talked more crap than anyone. He told me it was illegal for him to compensate me or cashback as he called if but would take money off any car I bought.I kept thd loan car till i bought from else where.I notice the car which had the unrepairable fault with the engine is back up for sale and having talked to a person online, it just needs to go through if mot which expired Jan 23 so not moved in over a year.I posted in their Instagram and the clicked and barred meStag well away Stay awat
Well . Got my Audi A3 3 weeks ago. From the beginning fault. Got the car home 185 miles going very carefully. So looked at the car and yes absolutely discussed with the exterior. I’ve also contacted them about the fault . Which hopefully they’ll honour there word and i will get it fixed. I can’t believe the amount of people that are also having issues. By the look of things we’re all having virtually the same faults. Wow. I am no fool and will take this car and get a full check done
Stay clear of cars 4 you Broxburn!!!!!!So bought my car on 1st feb had to wait til 14th to pick it up as required mot and 80 point check to which if these had been done correctly or the faults would've spotted the retest was done after a phone call with the director within 10mins literally plus no onsite mot centre and mileage only increased 1mile mmmm!!!! Yeah we all no what happened there then eh! Had the car 7 days awful noise from offside front took it back to be told bring it in nxt week and we will fix it. When dropping it off had to wait and what i seen of the sales staff was disgusting they belittled customers when they had received msgs on the work mobile. Anyways they have now had my car for 7 days i have called daily for an update to be told nothing other than the specialist is in looking at it (this was false) and someone will call you back with an update this is all i was looking for them to be open and transparent. I will now be looking for the itemised list of parts and repairs that have been made also a copy of my MOT as didn't receive one. i have paid for my first month and had the car less the 12 days plus paid a large deposit. Personally i think the director Muhammad has taken his eye off the ball i.e the sales staff also really needs to focus on their customer service skills as Lisa and Murray are rude. !!! I after receiving a call saying my car was finally ready my husband went to pick it up waited 15/20 minutes for Murray to come out to tell him the repairs carried out only for no Murray to show up i then called them and low and behold i spoke with the joke of work shop manager a liar called Graham to be finally told what the fault was and they hadn't fixed the faulty ball joint Graham did say if i had any other issues to get in touch place is a complete joke wont be back worst after sales customer service i have ever received!!!! Now i have been blocked on facebook they must have known that they never fixed the slow puncture, brakes and ball joint after they said they had. Complete liar of a workshop manager !!!!!!!!
Would never buy a car form this company again. Got my car in February on finance not through them. However after about a few days and there was a creaking when turning the steering wheel turns out iot was the start of the CV joint going. Also Had put the care in for service in April where the garage found faults they said should have been picked up on the MOT in February. Then around May/June got a few massages on the dashboard got it diagnosed turns out it is the Mass Airflow censor the cost that I will have paid out on this car is nearing £2000. I did contact them after discovering about the Airflow problem was told that someone would call me back and I'm still waiting
CARS 4 YOU – BROXBURN - Complaint is now closed and resolved.UPDATE 19/11/2024 - total refund £2157.36 (£672.36 + £990.00 deposit from the Finance Company and £495.00 from Cars 4 You). The matter is now finally closed. Cars 4 You – they have finally refunded the warranty amount we paid of £495 as a “goodwill gesture”. The finance company refunded us the deposit of £990, 4 x month payments amounting to £672.36. Cars 4 You: Treat your customers better. Improve your stock. You have too many cars and most in a poor condition and you are not willing to carry out the necessary work to make sure your customers have a good car. Give the customer a good car in good working order and you will not get complaints. Be prepared to put things right when they do go wrong – ignoring your customers when they have legitimate complaints is obviously not good for business. Get the right staff in place and don't treat customers badly after the sale is done.To anyone else going through this, if you pay for your car on finance and it’s got faults within the first six months, use the Consumer Credit Act to force the Finance Company and the selling garage to act. I am glad this is finally resolved but I just wish it never had to get to this stage in the first place.Update 06/11/2024: The car has now been rejected through the finance company, it has been collected. Cars 4 You are yet to collect the vehicle from the car lot in Perth. They have been approached and asked to refund my deposit in full along with the cost of the useless warranty. This was the amount of £990 plus £495 for an 18 month warranty (they only set it up for 12 months). They are making attempts to claim monies back from the deposit for supposed "damage" and claim the warranty is not their problem. There is no damage as was confirmed by the collection agent when it was collected, excluding the minor bumper damage which was already there when we bought the vehicle. I am waiting to see what happens with the return of the deposit etc but I am fully prepared to keep pushing and pursuing this matter as long as it takes. Further updates to follow.Warning against using Cars 4 You – we used the Broxburn branch. We bought a car 10th February. After purchase it developed two faults within the first six months of owning it. They fixed the first fault but are refusing to honour their own warranty and repair the second fault. This is despite them giving a six month warranty which was shown on the original advert (which I have) showing that the car came with a six month warranty and us purchasing an extension to that warranty to cover 18 months. They also have only extended the warranty to 12 months despite us paying for 18 months. The car is a Hybrid and the faulty part that needs replaced controls the brakes when the car is driven in electric mode. Due to this faulty part, the car now only drives operated by the diesel engine to ensure the brakes work. Cars 4 You were first notified of this fault on the 12th June. They eventually agreed to assess the car after trying to ignore us and this was done on the 17th June. They confirmed what the faulty part was and said they would order a part to replace it. They claim to be having trouble sourcing a part to repair the car. Our last contact with them was on the 16th July by telephone and email, after which they have blocked my number from contacting them. I followed it up by email and letter to Cars 4 You.Murray the Sales Manager and Graham the Workshop Manager do not respond when you call, they promise to call back and resolve matters but never do. They ignore you and hope you will go away. I also sent a letter directly to their Managing Director, Mr Muhammad Usman which has also been ignored even though I have confirmation of it’s delivery. We have given them several chances to sort this out but have now taken the step of raising a complaint with the finance company and also disputed the deposit which was paid via credit card. The car is now being rejected as not fit for purpose under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Essentially we have been sold a car which they either will not or cannot repair. It’s now going through the finance company and I expect eventually the financial ombudsman to resolve.
Greatly disappointed at this dealership!! I asked for a test drive,i pointed out the issues of the car including breaks and I was told that the car will be ready in 7 days including weeekend i should pay a £200 deposit which i did.they said they will clean off the mould as the seats were literally green with mould. Fix the breaks and do an mot . 7 days passed, i then phoned them on day 8 and was told the car failed mot. I asked why was i not updated then as i explained that i needed the car urgently and they put the time frame for me. I went on to check the car and it had way too many faults, i then cancelled and asked for my deposit back after i was told that they were nit sure when it will be ready. After asking for my deposit then they phoned to promise me a courtesy car the following day and that the car will be ready the next day which gave me doubts that the car will be fixed up to standard now that i asked fir my money i am even offered a courtesy car. I rejected that asked fir my money as i really lost trust on them. I received a phone call a week later updating me about the car ignoring my emails i sent requesting for my deposit. I was told that they are retaining my deposit so to pay for the cost of preparing the car to my specifications yet the car is still not prepared, and the car was already in preps waiting for sale. That £200 was for my little children i worked hard for it 🤬
'Sold' my car to these crooks coming up two weeks ago and still have not received the money!!! Lie after lie about when I will receive the money. The have advertised my car on their website fraudulently as the vehicle still belongs to me. Knocked down in price massively for scuffed alloys and chipped paintwork that needs to be repaired. Car has not had any work done at all.
