A Despicable Shambles of a Service

I submitted an order on the Marks and Spencer Irish website on 24/12/2025. My order was accepted and payment was accepted and processed. I selected collection in store on 09/01/2026 The order status remained “Waiting for Dispatch”from the time it was submitted to the time it was cancelled. . I contacted Customer Services on two occasions as I queried the progress of the status of my order. The response to the first email stated it was delayed due to high demands on the service, the reply to the second email 08/01/2026 assured me the order was on track for delivery, no mention of stock issues.Obviously misinformation and lies considering I received an email the next day 09/01/2026, the due date for delivery, informing me my order has been cancelled as the item is “Out of Stock”After reading customer reviews, it appears that accepting orders, processing payments, and then cancelling those orders at the point of delivery is a recurring issue with Marks and Spencer. In my case, my order was accepted, my payment was processed, and the order was cancelled on the day it was due for delivery. Although I received a refund three days later, my money was held for a total of 17 days.I contacted Customer Service, the reply did offer an apology but no explanation for the cancellation of the order or the misinformation or deception. To add insult to injury I received a Marks and Spencer Gift Card valued €20. I am not easily bought, nor am I seeking any form of compensation.I had previously stated I would be making a complaint to the Consumer Protection Commission and posting public reviews regarding my experience.. Overall, my experience with Marks and Spencer has been very negative. The communication I received was misleading and deceptive, and my order was cancelled two weeks after it was submitted and accepted.A truly despicable shambles of a service.

Consistently dreadful issues with…

Consistently dreadful issues with online orders, used to be so reliable. My order hasn't dispatched for nearly 10 days, when I contacted to see when will be dispatched, I was offered a refund, no explanation as to the delay. I don't want a refund I want my items... Last year, items missing, took me forever to resolve. I'm not holding my breath with this order. Another great service gone to the dogs, such a shame.

Our disappointment with M and S

My wife and I have always been avid shoppers at M and S. However, over the last 12 or 18 months we feel that they have let their high standards slip very badly. My wife now does all the shopping, due to my inability to walk too far, and she is eternally coming home complaining about several aspects of their quality and service. Our normal monthly bill is circa £500-£600, but we will be buying less there in future. Prior to Xmas my wife went shopping frequently for food for the festive period. She found that, whilst the prices went up, the quantities appeared to reduce. The quality was extremely poor. She bought a large bag of Maris Piper potatoes from M and S in the Trafford Centre. When she came to use them, about a week later, about 75% of the potatoes were already inedible and she had to throw them in the bin. Even the ones we ate were of poor quality. Not what you would expect from M and S!! I really don't want to detail everything that was sub-standard but there are also other things that are quite perturbing. The shelves at both the Trafford Centre and Walkden stores are seldom well stocked. The staff at both stores are unhelpful and quite dismissive when you ask for something. Comparing the staff there to the staff at Aldi, M and S need a major uplift in their training. The staff at Aldi go out of their way to help, and are always very pleasant. I know that nothing will change at M and S but if they lose the customers, which they will if they don't make some effort to repair things that are wrong, then maybe they will realise how far down they have slipped from their past.

Wont let me cancel an order even though…

Wont let me cancel an order even though it’s not despatched. Days later. Still not despatched. It’s mad. How many people will my parcel pass through on despatch and return. Just cancel it!Foods gone down hill. The pasta meals. The chicken is gristley. Tried several times and will no longer buy them. Are you using cheap meat to keep prices low? Your meals for one have gone up a lot in the last 2 years. And now you are using rubbish chicken.

Disgraceful retailer total absence of…

Disgraceful retailer total absence of customer service. Bought several apples from them all bad their policy says they will refund the money. Should have had a 100% refund yet instead got pathetic and patronizing response. Told them unless they give me a full refund I will have to sue them over £20. They could not care less and encouraged me to sue them. So I am now taking them to court for £20 of apples. Disgusting lack of any modicum of customer service.

Don't rely on the toilets at Grimsby

The toilets, especially the disabled one, are often out of service. Store staff, with the exception of a few, view you as an inconvenience if you ask where to find something. So all in all, not a great experience.Morrisons had all we wanted and couldn't get at M&S.

I am a victim of stalking and hate…

I am a victim of stalking and hate crime with phones being used as a weapon. The GPS is hacked into. The NHS can track your phone if you agree and clearly can be open to abuse. My phones are hacked. I went into Norwich Lingerie. CCTV is extensively used to watch me & my son in certain store unpleasant people work in that are involved. In this instance I went in alone. I went to Lingeries where a woman in strippy vertical white and black top wearing MOOSE antlers used the word GROSS at me. I took it on chin. I went to first floor to look at sale. She came loudly onto that floor too. I approached her and asked if she was on the lingeries and she denied it. This is on CCTV, she will clearly be seen in the place that she denied. It is likely I was being followed on CCTV like the castle mall LA cameras watch me I allege. I went to make a complaint about targeted harassment. Unfortunately Louise the manager was unable to fulfill basic safeguarding and was part I allege part of this hate crime designed to provoke me into anger to get in trouble with police that fail to attend allegations of serious sexual offences against very young kids. Louise was snidy abusive saying she knew who I was, what my mental health diagnosis was and said that when I said i was contacting police which I have to report your store tutted and said that she had her 'OWN POLICE FORCE'. impersonating police officers is something I have had to deal with by calltakers in Norfolk police control room regards non attendance of potential peaodfilles photographing King Ed kids which Norfolk Constabulary never attended despite photos claiming they 'knew me' just like LOUISE a manager. She then ran off like it was her own personal vendetta to rally her police force against me. She came back to watch me spreading her own brand of abuse. As such all clothes bought from your store including a nobodies child 100 pound dress will be returned and I intend to boycott your store over safeguarding concerns surrounding liars that don't investigated complaints but abuse safeguarding laws.Your in no posiition to treat paying customers in this manner. If your store fails to contact my lawyers will contact you. You have been reported to police. I will return my items and NEVER shop with your store again.

Went into Mark's and Spencers

Went into Mark's and Spencers, Henry St, today Saturday 20th December. I picked out a brown leather skirt and was looking for a particular top to go with it, the sales assistant Tina could not have been more helpful, went above and beyond for me to find it for me. Unfortunately out of stock but looked for similar tops. Tina was so friendly helpful and patient. You have amazing staff. 😊

Incredible Customer Service

I went to M&S to buy a birthday cake for my youngedt daughter, parking was not great and tight so I was unable to get my wheelchair out of the car so I had to only use my crutches which isn't easy. The staff saw me struggling they emptied my cart for me, packed my groceries, took them to my car and loaded in to my car. The lady behind the till told me that I can ask a member of staff to help me shop in the future. Despite how busy the store was the staff were cheerful and happy to help.

Underwhelming service...an absolute…

Underwhelming service...an absolute joke.Never order online for collection!I ordered two dresses online for collection as the delivery was going to take too long. The dresses were meant for some Christmas parties.I went to check on the M&S portal to see how the parcels were getting on as the date fpr tbe Christmas party was now around the corner. The expected collection date had changed without warning and to a date after the party and a date further out than if I had selected delivery.I emailed to see what the issue was as if It was a store issue to see if I could collect it elsewhere, just to get some info really. The response was that part of my delivery one dress would be available and the other would be later/delayed.I collected the one dress and waited for the email to collect the second.I received two delay delivery emails. I emailed them again, the parcel apparently got lost and they had to resend it. Non of this was visible on the portal and zero communication on the reasoning for the delays. They gave me a tracking number with Anpost. Anpost notified me that the delivery had been done and that I needed an email from the store to collect once they had processed it.Several days passed. I emailed again asking what the hold up was, if I could collect the dress that had been delivered. Next thing I know I am being refunded and sent a 10Euro gift card. All I wanted was a dress for Christmas.. I bought the dress on sale my refund with the gift card won't cover the dress that is still available online, and still available in my size.Horrified at the level of incompetency, lack of communication, and overall lack of care. I still wonder what the hell happened tp the dress that qas delivered...something is going on here and they don't even know. Needless to say the customer emailing every email response is by a different person. So of course they don't care because they haven't been dealing with you from the start.
