Received a gold bracelet from my children for my 80th birthday October 2023. In November returned the bracelet, too tiny for my wrist. Added $$$ and purchased a new bracelet with larger chains. Wearing the bracelet only occasionally, suddenly it fell apart. Returned to Michael Hill store, and they replaced the bracelet for an identical one. Wore the bracelet very seldom. Then suddenly for no apparent reason while turning a page in a book, this bracelet fell apart at exactly the same link as the previous bracelet. Michael Hill wanted $$$$ to repair the bracelet, close to the original price when I purchased it. NO WARRENTY !! Picked up the bracelet but the salesclerk was very obnoxious insisting that it was NOT a manufacturing fault. definitely NO WARRENTY. WE WILL NEVER ENTER A MICHAEL HILL STORE AGAIN.
Don’t buy in MICHAEL HILL, the customer service is terrible terrible, the sellers even lie to you to try to sell you repairs on your ring. The jewellery is poor quality and overpriced and even they don’t value their diamonds with GIA. They use their own valuation to value their diamond. If I would have known better, I wouldn’t have bought from them. Please don’t waste your money in their products.
If i could give a minus star i would certainly!!Daughters gifted me a beautiful gold chain necklace.Value $2500+After 6 months the spring in the clasp let go and luckily it was as i was putting it on and the chain and clasp dropped to the floor.Took it in the Northwest store in Auckland. They sent it away to see if was neglect, wear and tear or a faulty clasp. After 2 months of trying to get an answer they told me it was wear and tear and would be charging me $600 for a new clasp.I think not!!I finally managed to get the chain returned not repaired. What a dreadful company and Mr Hill should stand by his products. This is selling product that is obviously not fit for purpose. Please give me the money back.
My husband who never shops bought me an Emerald and Diamond Princess cut ring for our 20th wedding anniversary. Firstly when he ordered the ring they showed him a picture of a bright green Emerald ring but when he picked it up in October 2023 you could hardly tell that it was actually a Emerald, is so pale. Five months later a stone fell out, so I took it back and they basically said tough luck, they would send it off for a quote to get it repaired at our cost. I had warn my ring maybe 30 times as they advised that Emeralds were a soft stone, so I was always worried about wearing it.Shame on you Michael Hill for the disgusting service. My wedding ring that was purchased from Angus and Cootes a diamond Princess cut design as well and 20 years later is still perfect. I would never step foot in a Michael Hill Jewellers again. I will also be advising anyone and everyone I know NOT to buy from the terrible Michael Hill Jewellers.
My advice is to avoid Michael Hill like the plague. After several very poor experiences, I will never spend another dollar of my hard earned money in any of his stores. Our latest experience was with a ring that had a sapphire that fell out of it. After returning it after only14 months and it having had all its checks under there lifetime warranty. (Not worth the paper it's wriiten on or the money paid for it) They tried to tell us the ring was beaten up. It wasn't. They then told is they couldn't get the saphire required to fix it. Not good enough. They then found a saphire that was to small and tried to tell us it was fine. In the end the replaced all the saphires that they intially couldn't find after I kicked up a massive stink. It took them 3 months. This is just one incident of many. I suggest going anywhere else to buy your jewellery.
Bought a gift for my friend kept it for Christmas. A bracelet for about $400 in the Sales gave it for Christmas Day. She’s wanted it a few times since within 2 1/2 weeks the braces been starting to break brought it back to Strathpine where I got it from. They sent her away the first time, so she went back again.. and then this time they took it for her for a few weeks sent it off. Apparently we repaired and they want $240 to repair something that was worn about four or five times in 2 1/2 weeks.. got Back an email today from their so-called customer service to say that they will not stand over it even though it’s within the 12 month warranty
Talk about a horrible company that can’t upkeep to their own statement.Thank you for ruining Valentine’s Day for my partner, not only did I choose express shipping which should’ve arrived yesterday or today, alongside ensuring customers that if they ordered before 11:59pm last Friday they assured we would receive our delivery’s before Valentine’s Day, yet my order hasn’t even been packaged nor delivered and Valentine’s Day is tomorrow alongside getting informed that if it was delivered today I would probably not receive it tomorrow. Normally I’m understanding but this is actually disgusting no excuse or reason as to why just a “you’ll get it when you get it” attitude, so thank you for being a useless company who can’t upkeep to your own morals, I will not be purchasing from you lot again
THEY SWAPPED MY RING!!!I sent my rings in to be rhodium plated, and picked one up 2 weeks ago, and the other today. Looking at my Solitare ring today, I noticed it looked different. At some point my ring was NOT the same one returned to me. I have checked the numbers on the diamonds compared to my original purchase certificate, and they are DIFFERENT. The manager said "they are the same financial value". I couldn't care if it was 3x bigger. It is NOT the ring my husband proposed to me with. DISGUSTING customer service, the manager was getting mad at me? I had to force her to take photos of my original paperwork and escalate it to her regional manager to find a solution. I am mortified that I have someone else's ring and someone has mine. The sentimental value is irreplaceable.
