Review Time
Had 3 used Mercs in a row now. I keep giving them the chance but....C-class rattled so much I just had to sell it. 7 trips to dealer for a seatbelt rattle issue just because they refused to replace it. As soon as they did the noise went away but lost confidence as then the dash started to rattle. E-Class. Drivers leather seat breaking up after 20k miles. Merc not interested. I'm lower than average BMI so this is just a question of poor material quality.Auto wipers have a mind of their own and keep running when screen is dry. Windscreen scratched to hell. Merc replaced sensor (at my cost) and wont compensate me for the windscreen. Problem the same still, they don't seem to know how to fix it so they have given up. I guess I just have to replace the window every 18 moths then?GLC - The classic wheel scrub clunk. Merc told me it has been updated on my car, but then I asked them to check a few months later, then no it wasn't. Took it in to get done but by which point my tires were wrecked. No compensation. Wheel arch trims fell off - Merc just stuck them on using tape rather than replace. Have fallen off again.Rattle under body - something loose which touches the body when in reverse. Merc wont even look at it. These are experiences all using different dealers in different areas. The problem seems to be Merc are unwilling to pay any of the dealers claims. They are just in denial things are not always designed perfectly. Preaching to the choir though as I actually work in the industry as a component designer so this compounds my frustration as I can see exactly where they have cheaped out or not tested the part properly.
In March I purchased a used November 2016 C Class 250 convertible from Mercedes Harrogate via the internet, received a number of photos and asked if there were any dents, alloys, tyres etc. When I went to pick it up the weather was sleet, windy & cold, car was outside, looked inside the car, lovely condition except a dent on door sill, walked around car noticed a few scratches also milky finish on back trim around hood, pointed these out, took it to their work shop, buffed scratches out but couldn't remove milky finish so returned home not happy but was told it would come out with some elbow grease. After many tries milky finish could not be removed. Phoned back the sales manager and asked him to replace the trim which would cost nearly £750, the car hasn't been used much due to virus, when the weather picked up took the roof down tried the back wind breaker which is electric and it would jam half way down, the front wind breaker, which is electric had half the rubber strip missing, the drivers seat belt was faulty and not retracting. I had to replaced the front tyres within a couple months, I took car in for service recently at Warrington Mercedes, I've taken all my cars there as they are good to deal with, I also asked them to check the issues above whilst under 12 months warranty, they had to replace front and back wind deflectors also new seat belt & advisory note to replace rear off side tyre, so now I had to buy another two tyres along with the two I bought earlier at a cost of £680 (receipts to show) Do I think Harrogate main dealer checked the car before I bought it? I don't think so, very poor experience with Harrogate, would I buy from them again no way!!
Please avoid taking personal lease with Mercedes as they robbed me at the end with all they terms and conditions on their favour!I had 3 cars with them as a reliable customer when I have ret my cars to get a new one even though I underdone my mileage never been offer a penny back!My last car I leased true those legal robbers I decided to volunteer return the car and believe me they charge you fir everything thing possible they can find in the car even though they going to get the car back after paying three years money in the bin!Extremely poor customer service I’ll classify them as LEGAL ROBBERY! Never again People if you can avoid them personal lease as once they trap you in you will be robbed !
The E350 was put into a main Mercedes Dealer for service and MOT. 9 year old. 160k on the clock, Diesel. The garage wanted to charge over £4000 on a number of items to get the car through the MOT. Subsequently taken to another garage who indicated little wrong with the vehicle. The Mercedes dealer indicated badly corroded brake pipes & discs; Nothing wrong with them, Oil leak in Turbo; nothing wrong, broken front springs - nothing wrong with them, They were going to charge £186 just to look at why a passenger door didn't open (but had already removed some trim so they had investigated) etc. This is a disgrace and I'll never go anywhere near a Mercedes again. I'm not suggesting they were taking advantage of a disabled driver but.....
Phoned this company more than once to get details of a Mercedes c class that I am interested in, told that someone would be in touch shortly.It seems that they don’t want to sell cars as I have waited a week now for the call back. Think it’s a good time to not bother with this branch of Mercedes and I will go elsewhere.
I decided to purchase a Merc E class from Mercedes Benz Lakeside and was served by Mr. Bassem Boule. Due to the pandemic, the whole purchase process was done by phone and online. Mr Boules took a deposit of £1000.00 by credit card on 6th November 2020. Unfortunately they do not take the final payment by Card so I cancelled the deal on 7th December. I have rung up 4 times to request the refund of the deposit but I am still waiting and its 29th November, OVER 3 WEEKS. Once I was informed by Mr Boules's colleague that he watched Mr Boules process the refund and that was on Friday 13th November. Another time I was informed that the Accounts team does not operate on the weekend and a third time I was informed that Mr Boules was furlonged and he would not be back for 3 days. I am today informing my Credit Card company. All my precious time being wasted by Mercedes Benz Lakeside and the I cannot get to speak to anyone senior to sort this minor issue out. ABSOLUTELY HOPELESS COMPANY.I have already purchased a Mercedes from another dealer who were most willing to accept a Credit Card payment on 7th November 2020
I took my Mercedes to the Stockport branch for it's annual service.I was told the front lower suspension arms were excessively worn and they need replacing at £940.00.I took my car to another garage and instructed them to replace them at their cost of £425.00.They collected the parts from the Mercedes Stockport branch ready to fit, however on inspection they phoned me and told me they did not need replacing.Beware of this and get a second opinion.
