Filled with petrol and unusually for me went into the shop to pay as I mostly use the app. Picked up a couple of packets of Polo, put them on the counter and quoted my pump. The very charming cashier struck up a conversation (how are you, weather etc.) and I presented my card. I spend over £15000 a year on fuel so never bother with prices or bill checking, it's an absolute necessity for me. Imagine my horror to receive a letter from a third party accusing me of driving off without paying! The station telephone seems to be forever engaged and upon contacting Shell I was taken aback to be blamed! Anyone could make a genuine error as this cashier did and of course I'm willing to pay for my petrol, but don't see what I should pay a £60 admin fee
Waste of time spent a fortune on fuel with shell average £50 a week for 6 months and still probably 6 months to go to get a free coffee, your better off just filling up from a cheaper fuel station and save a fortune elsewhere rather than trying to get a free coffee and spending more on fuel
I was rushing to get home and misfueled my motorcycle. My fault for sure but the two labels for VPower petrol and diesel are very similar. I emailed them with a polite suggestion that a different colour or logo would be very helpful. The reply was quite snarky “we accept no responsibility” etc. I had never asked or suggested any recompense. Be careful and double check people especially when in a rush
I visited the Bellgrove road site and paid to use the car wash. The queue was quite long and so it took a while to get through. I subsequently received a parking fine from Euro Car Parks for being on the site too long. I raised this issue with customer services at Shell and was asked to bring the fine letter to the fuel garage. I was assured that the matter would be dealt with and that I wouldn't need to pay the fine. However, Shell Advisor Michael not responding to me anymore via email and I am being harassed by Euro Car Parks to pay an increased amount. If I were you I would check if a Shell garage uses Euro Car Parks to manage the forecourt and if they do just go elsewhere.
The owner of Shell (KETLEY, TF15DY) was threatening the worker at the till in a bad way if he would accept my Yodel parcel because of the size of it. I said I am going to complain to Yodel about it and he agreed on taking it in the end to his detriment because of his boss, you should be careful who represents your brand. Dissapointed by who you chose to run your franchise.

Shell Energy: A Customer Service Nightmare at Pershore GarageShell Energy, a name synonymous with fuel and convenience, recently provided a far from convenient experience at Pershore (WR10 2DT) garage. This account details a series of frustrating events that culminated in feelings of embarrassment, accusation, and a complete lack of customer care. The incident occurred at the Shell garage located at B4083 A44, Pershore WR10 2DT on 9 March 2025 at 2:10 AM. Upon arrival, I found the shop unattended and had to locate the store manager, identified as Karen, to activate the fuel pump. This initial inconvenience was just the beginning of a much larger problem. After filling their gas tank, I attempted to pay using six different cards in shop through Ingenico credit card machine IN YOUR STORE, all of which inexplicably failed. I had successfully used the same card at a Costco earlier that day and had ample funds available. Karen stated that all cards were being declined, despite claiming the card machine was working correctly.I requested to test the machine with Karen's own card for a nominal amount was denied, a move that felt particularly unhelpful given the situation. Stranded at 2 AM after a long day's work, I felt increasingly humiliated, especially when Karen requested identification from me and asked me to fill out a form with their personal details.I was feeling treated as if they were attempting to steal fuel, a perception exacerbated by the lack of explanation regarding the purpose and security of the collected information, raising concerns about GDPR compliance. The situation took another turn when VARS Technology, seemingly acting on behalf of Shell Energy, sent an email demanding payment for the fuel plus an additional £5 charge. This communication further reinforced the feeling of being wrongly accused of a crime.I am now refusing to pay the demanded amount and am seeking legal counsel. I am also demanding the return of the form containing their personal information, citing concerns about its use and storage. This experience highlights a serious lapse in customer service and raises questions about the functionality of the card machines at this particular Shell garage. This paints a picture of a frustrating and humiliating experience, leaving them feeling unfairly accused and mistreated due to a technical malfunction. I want Shell Energy to address this complaint and rectify the situation to avoid further damage to your reputation.Kind Regards,Vinay
Shell garage A11 near Route 11 Attleborough. Tried to use air pressure machine, couldn't get it to work, asked staff who confirmed it was working and could take payment using card etc. Said its not working and eventually managed a member of staff to come out. He said its taking cash only, said I have no cash could we buy something and do cash back. No this is not an option. He offered no solution to enable us to use the tyre pressure machine. Customer service a complete and utter failure on this occasion.
Shell Five Ways, Birmingham – February 2025:After 15 years as a regular customer at Shell Five Ways, I never expected to be treated with such contempt. I was browsing with a friend who was openly holding a large bottle of milk, ready to pay when a staff member abruptly demanded I empty my coat pockets. It was winter, I was wearing a bulky coat, and I was stunned. I complied, but made it clear how degrading and unjustified the accusation was. He hadn’t seen me take anything, and I’ve never shoplifted in my life, I'm 55 years old.As someone who is autistic, I can’t help but wonder if my mannerisms were misjudged. I had to leave the store to avoid a meltdown. My friend still wanted to pay for the item, but was told we were banned anyway. What made it worse was another staff member, someone who likely recognised me from years of polite visits was sitting silently, watching the whole thing unfold. No intervention. No accountability. Just complicity. This wasn’t just poor service. It was a disgraceful failure of basic respect, and Shell Five Ways should be ashamed.(The date given is approx.)
